Air conditioning issues!
Gym facilities are excellent but what lets this gym down is the air conditioning. It’s far too warm and staff are unable to turn the air conditioning down as it’s controlled by head office! The treadmills are located upstairs where it’s particularly warm. If head office sort the air conditioning, I would give the gym a 5 star review!
17/10 Thanks for the reply, it’s not that they are faulty but that they are set at a temperature between 18-21 degrees which is too warm for cardio at the Guiseley gym. I understand that the staff members can’t reduce the temperature as it’s controlled by head office - lots of members have given the same feedback to the managers so maybe something you could pick up with them? Thanks

Miss leading about the joining fee says you don’t have to pay but makes you pay one month up front anyway!

A joining fee is required once at the start of the membership, taken with the first month access payment. As you were able to use a £0 joining fee promotion, this was removed meaning only your first month of access payment had been taken. We are sorry to hear this. We do not have any running promotions at this moment, however we do run them often. We can only advise keeping an eye out on the website for any coming up. Need more flexible class content
At the classes I have attended, staff haven’t flexed their session when the majority of the class are struggling. Please come with a plan but when things clearly aren’t working out reassess and mix it up. Expecting us to have barbells on our shoulders for 15 minutes+ with no time to put them down briefly during a class to relieve ache is clearly not going to be comfortable for members.

Easy process to join and very welcoming
The joining of the gym online was easy enough but today I went to the new Guiseley Gym to have a look around and ask all my questions - I think the young man (assistant manager) Max I think he was called was excellent in answering my questions and showed me around even though the gym is not open yet.
I look forward to starting shortly at Pure Gym.

When you signed up and paid your first month membership and joining fee a few days after joining, this was to secure your membership and the promotional rate at the time. This payment covers the first month when the gym opens meaning you won't pay again until a month after the gym opens.
