You get what you pay for really. There always seems to be 1 or 2 machines broken and a few not in good condition plus a pet peeve of mine is the weights are never put back or if they are it's rare the... Voir plus

I came back for a second chance 😐
I came back for a second time after using Oldham Pure in October 2025 which was a bad experience then.
Walking in the place was a very strong smell of body odour, turns out the heating was on. Stood under an air conditioning unit on the glute machine which was blowing out hot air.
Understandably its the clients that you have at that gym that are not putting the weights back but there was weights everywhere else but on the racks. People vaping. I get that its a Sunday afternoon and you cant have staff present all the time, but I feel it needs staffing more than it should be to enforce rules.
I will stick to any other PureGym in future.

Hi Jonny- Thanks for taking the time to leave this review, we always appreciate and take on board member feedback. It is in the gym rules that members should return their own weights or risk suspension, but at peak times especially it can be hard to police this. However, staff on site do everything they can while we also have CCTV monitoring the free weights and we are looking for new ways to combat this. Please note that temperatures/air con in our gyms are automatically regulated by Smart machines, but if there is a persistent issue staff may be able to override it and can certainly report it to be checked by engineers if you have any concerns! If you would like to escalate any of these concerns further, please reach out to the Gym Manager and they will be happy to look into this for you. Thanks, PureGym
It is the worst gym in existence, at least for public government funding standards.
It is the worst gym in existence, the manager doesn't check equipment after being told several times by me and others who I speak to in the gym.
There is literally something wrong with every machine just due to the unbalanced nature of the gym it's self flooring doesn't match what's there, nothing is bolted to the floor, no safety checks.
For example peck deck seat still not sorted after months of being told, even me and one of my mates had to tell the manager, still nothing. And the other peck deck left arm is stiff and also isn't parallel with the other side, pretty much alot of the machines are quite lob sided.
I've been injured several times because of the gyms inability to actually get people out to sort and straighten out everything especially the racks omg the racks.
Of course not everyone, but the majority of new comers are damaging the gym, it's reputation, and vandalising and not taking care of the equipment they use. Usually young lads between 16 18, and alot of people don't put their weights back and don't even get told off for it.
Get in your way, deliberately steal things, or even my things in the past.
People are rude and stare, people don't help at the gym like certain PT who work there when people are clearly doing the forms bad or completely wrong. Constantly speak and not actually do much of anything,
Also staff don't even tell anyone off anymore for doing the most basic rules to follow that isn't hard, even when said to follow the rules like putting the weights back.
Unstaffed a lot too at the worst possible times.
People get in your way or stand behind you when your lifting especially heavy which can throw your hole balance and cause injuries itself.
It's just a ignorant, and lazy management in this gym and it isn't just me that has said this everyone I've spoken to agrees including the workers
5 years in that gym and I've seen the huge fast decline and again it's because of immigrants vandalising, not knowing rules slamming weights and cables, one manager works in two PureGym wtf where is the work flow, that's more stress and more things for the manager to not do.
They are also very ignorant and don't say hi and can't take blame for their wrongs either when told straight, well at least from what I've seen, and my own interactions.
I keep me to myself but it's got to the point where it has to be said.
But yeah bent gym, no maintenance or proper management, don't know what they are doing, or just blank ignore or don't help at all.
I feel judged when I'm in that gym alone. They r lucky the safety inspectors haven't come out because I bet they would make sure it gets done right.
They r getting away with it due to a wager as well, but they claim it's always safe which still defeats what they claim in their form so they can still get into trouble.
I remember one time where one of the workers said oh it's supposed to be bent it's how the bars are like what no that isn't how they are supposed to be.
But yeah anyone goes to this gym first time, keep this in mind. It is usually worse when you're lifting heavy since that's where a lot of the cracks show and are noticeable.
I remember when the management in late COVID times between 2020 and 2021 was amazing then but after COVID stopped, it went down hill after that.
Oh don't forget how everything breaks a lot and can take up to a month on average to get them sorted at times and their excuse or we try but they just won't come out . Eh stop justifying and projecting and admit with pride that the management is not good and the system is just broken nothing works and the multiculturism doesn't work either at least in not these extremes.

I love this gym. The staff are great and the atmosphere is so friendly. Equipment is superb.

Absolutely disgusting Gym
Absolutely disgusting Gym. The one in Oldham has equipment that is damaged and smells vile. They do not clean their gyms properly and the showers are utterly disgusting. If you are going to join a gym, join a leisure Centre pay that little bit more and you will get the Cleaning with it.

Awful gym in Oldham
Awful gym in Oldham, most of the equipment is broken, no staff there whats so ever, first time visiting a puregym will not be returning

We are equally as disappointed when, from time to time, things go wrong and equipment has to be placed out of order. Regular maintenance checks are undertaken, and any issues identified are escalated to engineers straight away. Sometimes, there may be a small wait whilst engineers attend to fix any issues, but we endeavour to resolve these as soon as possible.
If you have any concerns about specific pieces of equipment in your gym, please notify staff on site as soon as you can.

It’s good gym but unfortunately you…
It’s good gym but unfortunately you have to have strong immune system in your body coz you always gona catch viruses from this place.No safety and disinfectant measures are placed.They taking too many people but no enough space.For using one machine you have to wait long and long.All machines handles are toxic and sticky.They need big space for taking great number of people.Whenever I go next week I catch virus and don’t go for next two weeks.So I won’t recommend those who can afford better place.

The times of use for the gym the only downside is when you want to use the equipment there is normally someone sat on it but not using it and in their phone

There is sometimes a smell as soon as you come in, I think if the gym supplied some bodysprays in the bathrooms so people can use them or spray an area if needed. Also, airfreshners that automatically spray would be good.

We certainly recognise the good of good hygiene though as you have mentioned, which is exactly why we provide facilities such as showers in the changing rooms and cleaning stations which are situated around the gym. Not great first thing in the mornings when you need to wait for a shower once you have finished your workout due to shower still broken & blue rolls always running out ….should be available due to having good hygiene practices

Showers have been closed off...only 3…
Showers have been closed off...only 3 now.. not enough for size of gym....I use cardio equipment...not enough of them....usually some aren't working....would like a wet area....and having seen that my monthly fee is £21 now,I might pay more and go somewhere else with better facilities
