Highly recommend
Would highly recommend Richard as a personal trainer. Since working with him, I have been hitting my weight loss goals consistently. He is very understanding, encouraging and flexible.
Thanks to Richard, I have gone from zero gym experience to being a regular visitor 5 days a week.
If you’re looking for a personal trainer - Richard is your guy!
The gym itself is very clean and I’ve never had an issue with the equipment.
The only downside for this location is the supplies - blue roll/ toilet roll/ soap etc not available at times.
All staff are friendly and happy to help.

Richard Akuffo PT
I attend PureGym Romford where Richard is a PT.
I only do classes and Richard's Circuit class is my favourite.
He sets out different equipment each session so it's good to work different muscle groups and he adds in some cardio which I love.
The thing that's different about Richard is that he goes out of his way to know everyone's name and he encourages each person as well as the group as a whole (even when its hard and you just want to stop)
His demeanor is so positive. He's always friendly and smiling.
All the Romford classes are great, there's a good variety. I'd highly recommend trying them out. You get a proper good workout.

Great people in a great gym.
Went to the Romford pure gym to check out membership info. One of the staff member Richard showed me around. He is very friendly and approachable. Made me feel really welcomed. Which is so different from my previous visit to other gym where they only focused on hard sale. Thanks to Richard I think Pure Gym will be the right place for me to start my fitness journey. ( a long overdue one ..🤣)

The Perfect Place to Grow and Improve
I’ve been training at PureGym Romford for almost two years now, and I’m genuinely impressed with the overall atmosphere. The gym is well-organized and offers everything you need for both strength and cardio workouts. For quite some time, I observed the trainers before choosing one, and I finally decided to work with Richard — and I couldn’t be happier with my choice.
He is a true professional, knowledgeable, and incredibly motivating. Richard explains exercises clearly, helps correct technique, and creates training programs that are both challenging and achievable. Thanks to his guidance, I’ve made noticeable progress and become much more confident in my training.

Richard is absolutely the star of this gym.
I love Romford Pure Gym everyone is helpful and the gym itself is big and well equipped with good classes. Furthermore, the Personal Trainer- Richard is absolutely the star of this gym. He is extra helpful and friendly, very reliable and has been there for a long time always giving his utmost presence. He is very approachable and is experienced in his training expertise. I woukd 100% recommend pure gym- Romford, specifically because of Richard PT.

The toilets in the woman’s room both…
The toilets in the woman’s room both had shut everywhere and it stank so much. The music was really bad. It was hard finding the sprays to wipe equipment down. There is also no padding for the smith machine bars

Good equipment
Good equipment. Complete for every muscle group. Accessible 24/7. Too many people during peak hours though but can’t complain for the price I am paying for.

You (almost) get what you pay for.
Changing rooms always have locks on the double lockers, even though most of them are empty. Some of the lockers are broken in that they can't shut but they still have a padlock on them.
The smell in the toilet (and changing room) is absolutely vile, raw sewage. The toilet and changing areas are far too small for a gym of this size.
The gym itself has plenty of equipment, however I've never been able to use even 50% of the stations/machines that I had writen for my workout. I've gone as latre as 11pm and as early as 7am and every hour in between, IT'S ALWAYS FULL! never possible to do a proper workout because when I write down a list of, say chest and arms excercises, I end up having to substitute 3 or 4 excercises with something totally unrealted, just using whatever available piece of equipment I can find.
Not to mention the dumbells are always messed up, I don't think I've ever had the pair of dumbbells that I've needed, always have to get something upwards of 6kg lighter or heavier. At the busy times of the day you can't even get a cardio station.
I have no idea how many people are registered at this gym but it has to be over 50 thousand. That means it generates over £1million per month yet they can't be bothered to invest in a larger changing room or cleaners or more dumbbells, corporate greed at it's finest. Anyway if you have money, join Nuffield otherwise just go for a run outside and do some push ups at home.

PLEASE
please for the love of god, either sort the dumbbell rack out in order, or punish people for not putting weights back, this is the worst part of the gym. I get you can't police everything but surely as staff use want to have a neat presentable gym, the 30kg dumbbells sit in the 4kg spot, although it might not be an issue to some, their is normally 5/6 benches around the racks and trying to find a certain weight because people cant put them back in the correct place or gym staff are too lazy to come and clean up the area is ridiculous.

It is in the gym rules that members should return their own weights or risk suspension, but at peak times especially it can be hard to police this. Gym is very busy and smaller than…
Gym is very busy and smaller than expected, dumbbell rack isn’t in order due to lazy people not putting them back but gym staff could try ensure they are neat and in order, very small space for free weights and seems the gym is more for hyrox/crossfit people, so much space taken up in the centre of the gym. Missed a trick giving up so much space instead of machines. Blue roll not available at all times leaving me no choice but to not wipe a sweaty bench, overall disappointed. aircon seems pretty much non existent, we all love a sweat but I felt like I was outside the pyramids lifting weights.
