It was awesome! Great facilities and equipment. Very spacious. I did 2 classes and they were great. V happy I joined! Also the assistant manager there was so helpful.

Friendly staff, clean and good environment
Friendly staff to introduce us to the gym yesterday. Easy to join the gym online. Easy pincode or QR scan to access the gym. Plenty of equipment, clean and pleasant environment.

PureGym St Albans offers great value…
PureGym St Albans offers great value for money with clean facilities and helpful staff who explain the app-based system well. Fantastic instructors like Rome, Ricardo, and Adam lead engaging classes, though frequent schedule changes can be frustrating. Some equipment maintenance could improve, but overall, PureGym has what you need, especially for starters.

Thoroughly enjoy the classes.
I have loved joining and attending the classes, which has really helped me through a challenging time in my life.
I really enjoy the 45 mins GLC with Pira Coren on a Tuesday, great variety and challenging at the same time.

Really good gym and equipment
Equipment and speed to access equipment was exemplary. My only fault was the lack of sanitation spray for hands.

Gym was very busy when I arrived at…
Gym was very busy when I arrived at 5:25pm on 3/02/2025, I was not able to work on the machines I wanted and so left after getting access to some of the required ending my workout prematurely. I will give this another go this evening however if its the same I will be cancelling my membership. Regards

Our gyms are indeed very popular and so can become busy especially at peak times, but this does fluctuate throughout the day. Members can also use the members area via the PureGym app or website to see how many people are in the gym.
Please also feel free to ask to switch in with a member while they rest between sets, this can also help you keep an even pace between sets. Thanks, PureGym.
Pros and cons
Plenty of plates and dumbells. Good equipment, loving the assault bikes and cardio equipment. However there's a too many treadmills, I never see even half being used at once. Aswell as the area for sled pulls or just general hyrox workouts is very minimal.
Some of the flooring is uneven. Especially in areas used for squatting.
Equipment is kept extremely clean. And there isn't any major damage sustained to any of the Equipment.

Great gym with a variety of good working equipment to meet the needs of many people training for endurance, strength, hypertrophy and polymetric
A Good amount of space, a clean environment and very nice friendly, helpful staff.
I would offer a few suggestions to rate this gym a 10-10 as opposed to an 8 out of 10.
1. Keep people OFF the green carpet Area, As follows:
Keep static trainers off the green carpet while doing ab work, stretching, static weights training and general exercise that can be done in any space.
as the green carpet should ONLY be used for suitcase carry’s, walking burpee broad jumps,pushing, pulling the sledge, pushing, pulling the rope, lunge walking and any kind of movement exercise.
As the above exercises cannot be done in any other area of the gym and if I go there to do hyrox training sometimes it’s not possible to do this.
2.Also Keep people training away from the WALL ball throw spots as you can’t throw the ball on the spot when a human is there.
3. Install a punchbag in the open space next to the studio downstairs.
& the last suggestion:
4. Purchase a primal curved treadmill for people training Hyrox, & cardio heart control. That makes this gym a 10-10 👍👍👍

Equipment gets updated if it shows signs of wear and tear , regularly cleaned. Great staff, rarely queuing in the morning for equipment

Difficulty in changing venue for my 3 day pass.
I've found it a little difficult to change the venue for my 3 day pass. However, although my first email went to the wrong person, Dave Cook, from London Colney, who responded to me done so very promptly and has helped me to redirect my enquiry, hopefully with success.

When I visted my local pure gym the person there explained how everything g worked to me and my partner and was extremely helpful (basically everything is done through the app) The gym was clean and had everything you could possibly need certainly for a starter like me. Highly recommend.
