Love the classes & morning class times. Studio gets too hot & instructor is unable to turn on aircon, also although bring a buddy pass is great they are only useful to use in gym as you cannot prebook... Voir plus

an accessible gym in a convenient location
I have a very positive impression of the gym. It's easily accessible for me, as it's the only gym in the area that's pleasant to go to.

Need more consideration and could be cleaner
Need more consideration from the Gym staff. They often book out all the functional areas at the same time leaving people with no where to stretch or do functional workouts for example.
Also my wife has several times walked out of the female toilets asking to go home because of the state of the ladies facilities.

We want to provide our members with a safe space in which they can get a great workout in and do so, in a clean and friendly environment. Please note, the app is not necessary to enter/exit the gym. All members are sent a unique 8 digit pin which is used on the pin pads to gain entry and exit.

PureGym in Yate
PureGym in Yate has a great potential but unfortunately it’s let down by uninspired management. Most of the staff predominantly sat down, staring at their phones, not lifting a finger to tidy up a bit and make the gym more pleasant environment. I suppose they know they can get away with it, simply because the manger doesn’t lead by good example. Two out of three showers in male changing room have been out of order for weeks and no one seems to care how inconvenient that is in the morning.
I visit other PureGyms and can only compare the Yate one to the Abbeywood one for instance, which is led by a great manager who inspires the rest of the staff. Recently visited the Great Yarmouth gym a few times over Christmas and that was a whole new level of experience. Nice and clean, friendly gym manager and staff, they even had a Christmas tree. I was there on a Saturday morning, a bit before 8 o’clock a member of staff arrived and instantly started completing her daily chores - tidied up weights and gym equipment, did a quick hoover around the gym to then start a class at 9 o’clock. So much other PureGyms can learn from.

It is great to hear about your experience at both Bristol Abbey Wood & Great Yarmouth. But we are disappointed this is not the case for your home gym.

The gym’s layout seems great and…
The gym’s layout seems great and machines were easily navigable. The only thing I felt is required is more cleaning of the equipment. Every machine was covered in. Thick layer of dust.
It made me feel like i needed to clean every machine before using as it made me feel everything was contaminated.

We pump over 2,000 litres of fresh air into our gyms every second though our ventilation systems. This helps to dilute airborne virus particles and ensure members have clean fresh air to workout.
Our gyms are also cleaned every night with high-grade anti-viral disinfectant. The team also clean every piece of kit and surface throughout the day, from dumbbells to treadmills and everything in between, so you can train with confidence.
We've also installed new self-cleaning stations so you can clean your kit before and after use, for added peace of mind. Cleaning stations are located in all key areas of the gym to make it as easy as possible. Thanks, PureGym.

Misleading "Free" Upgrade Offer and Hidden Conditions
I received an email from PureGym offering a "FREE" upgrade to Plus for one month, but the reality is far from that. The email buries crucial details about how this "free" upgrade permanently increases your membership cost. Once you upgrade, you lose any discounted rate you currently have, and even if you downgrade later, you can’t go back to your original price. This isn’t communicated clearly upfront—it’s hidden in the fine print at the bottom.
The messaging feels misleading, as it focuses on "free perks" without properly explaining the long-term cost. The terms are overly complicated and give the impression that they’re trying to trap customers into paying more. To make matters worse, the email doesn’t explain why the Plus benefits are worth the risk of losing your current rate.
PureGym needs to be far more transparent and upfront about these changes. This kind of communication feels like a bait-and-switch tactic. Very disappointing.

For your Free Month on PLUS you will continue to pay your standard CORE rate for 1 month but have access to try all the PLUS benefits including multi gym access at your rate or less, yanga water, bring a buddy and advance class booking: www.puregym.com/plus/
If you do have a pre existing rate for being a member of ours for a long time, or having a previous offer any membership changes would risk loosing this rate.

most simple, best value membership i’ve had
