This dealership was a very frustrating…

This dealership was a very frustrating experience from start to finish. Within just a couple of days of receiving the car, I identified serious issues including mould, a loose door, and numerous other defects, and I immediately exercised my legal right to reject the vehicle.

Despite acting promptly and well within the 30-day rejection period, my request was not accepted, and the process became prolonged after I reported the problems. In my experience, this showed a lack of professionalism and urgency in resolving the matter. Even after repeatedly making it clear that I did not want repairs, this option continued to be suggested, with my rejection described as “unreasonable” given the condition of the vehicle.

It also became apparent to me, based on available evidence, that the car may have sustained prior damage which was not clearly disclosed and repaired privately with no trace on the HPI check. The vehicle had come from auction, where reports noted issues such as a deformed door, scrapes, and paint damage. There was also MOT history indicating failure and structural concerns. Despite this, these issues were described to me as “normal wear and tear” for a 72 plate car with only 34,000 miles, which I do not agree with.

Overall, I found the experience difficult and felt that my concerns were not taken seriously. It was only after my broker became involved that the issues began to be acknowledged, although a resolution was still not straightforward.

Based on my experience, I would advise others to proceed with caution when dealing with this dealership.

Good experience

I had a great experience buying my car from Quality Part X. The whole process was straightforward and refreshingly honest—no unnecessary extras or pressure, just a clear deal from the start. Prices were very reasonable, and everything was explained in a simple, no-frills way. If you’re after a hassle-free car buying experience with fair pricing, I’d definitely recommend them. Staff are friendly, helpful and are more than happy for you to have a look around with no pressure sales.

Excellent service

Everything was dealt with in a professional manner. Everyone spoken to was polite and helpful. The car was delivered without any problems and it was valeted to a high standard. We are more than pleased with the whole experience

Great experience

Absolutely thrilled with my recent vehicle purchase. From start to finish, the experience was smooth, stress-free, and honestly better than I expected. The vehicle itself is in excellent condition, drives beautifully, and feels like a perfect fit for my needs. Everything was explained clearly, there was no pressure, and the whole process felt transparent and professional. I would 100% recommend this experience to anyone looking for a quality vehicle.

Poor unprofessional service at Quality Part X in Dunstable!

Normally, when you buy a car from a dealership, you are given all the relevant documents, such as previous MOT records, full service history, and a battery health report. When I went to complete the purchase and collect the car, I asked the salesperson several times to send me these documents if they were not available in the car. Each time I was told they would be emailed to me, but I never received anything.

During the handover, the salesperson seemed much more interested in selling me an expensive extended warranty (with a third-party company). When I said I needed time to think about it, I was told that if I didn’t want it, I could simply reject it later via the email link. In reality, cancelling it was not straightforward at all. I spent an entire day on the phone trying to reach the right department, as the automated phone system was very unclear.

When I collected the car, I was given the green new keeper slip and told to use it to pay the road tax. When I tried to do this online, I kept getting a generic error. I contacted DVLA and was told to go to a Post Office and pay there, which I did.

After about a week, I called the dealership again to request the service history and battery report. The person who answered said someone would call me back, but I never received any call. A few days later I called again and was told to email the service department. They were helpful and, after a few days, sent me the documents I had been asking for from the beginning.

After a month of owning the car, I was still waiting for the V5C logbook. Normally, the dealer applies for this either online or by post so it is sent to the new owner. Since I hadn’t received anything, I contacted DVLA and gave them the reference number from the green slip I was given. They told me the number was not valid and that there were two possible reasons: either it was an old slip or it had already been used. They also confirmed that, since the date I bought the car (10 February), no application for a new V5C had been made at all.

I then called the dealership to ask for an explanation. Again, I was told someone would call me back, but no one did. I called again a few days later and was told to contact the aftersales department. I tried calling them four times in one day with no answer and no callback. The following day I called again the dealership and was told to send a message on WhatsApp and that someone would respond. I received no reply.

Only after I sent another message clearly stating that the service I received was very poor and that it felt like the only priority was selling the car, did I finally get a response with apologies.

By that point, I had already had enough and decided to deal with DVLA myself. I applied for a new V5C through the Post Office and had to pay £25 plus additional fees. The issue for me is not the cost, but the amount of time wasted and the lack of proper follow-up.

After one and a half months of owning the car, I still do not have the V5C. I only discovered the issue because I actively checked. In a different situation, this could easily have been missed and caused problems later on.

Overall, this experience has been very disappointing. The communication has been poor, promises were not kept, and basic processes were not handled properly.

Horrible customer support

Horrible customer support. I had been charged for my part exchange vehicle and contacted customer support and provided all my details. Only to be told I will be contacted "soon" I reached out every week for 4 weeks with the same question and met with the same answer, that I will be contacted "soon". And when pressing further that "soon" isn't good enough anymore and asking when am I being contacted regarding the matter the customer support was closed. Don't waste time with this you'll get nowhere, unless "soon" means never
