Delivery great, the sales process and "box spring explanation", not so much!

I look at that experience in three parts,
1) the sales part in the store,
2) the "box spring" issue,
3) delivery.

1) I have to give the sales process as 3 STARS. This part only took approximately 15 to 20 minutes, and I ended up spending over $2 thousand. While I did bring in a image from my previous mattress a "Serta", I was expecting more of a "back and forth". At one point I brought up the topic of brands other than Serta and a mattress which was one grade below Firm. However, these were quickly discounted by the salesman.

In addition, after leaving the store I brought up the fact that there were no savings for the purchase, even though the advertisement (which I still have) talks about considerable savings. The salesman said these savings were for "off brands" and would give me a $25 discount on the next purchase, which would be considerably less than buying one of these "off brands".

2) the issue with the box spring. I understood that when they delivered the mattress, I would be required to get the old mattress hauled off as junk. However, even though I am purchasing a new box spring, R&F will be removing the old box spring. Why? Will R&F refurbish the old box spring, and if so, I think you owe me some money for that.

Anyway, given the confusing way the box spring was explained to me I gave that part 3 STARS.

3) Which brings me to the delivery. Top rate! The two movers were early and finished in record time and did not leave any mess. I tipped each as much as I could and I wish I had more money to tip them.

Please tell them there were excellent!!!!!

I gave these guys 5 stars.

So, the total of 11 stars, divided by the 3 processes gives a rating of 3 (rounded down).

I am still getting used to the new mattress, and its level of firmness. I was told I have 25 days to make a decision. I am still unsure at the end of this week, we will have to revisit the mattress purchase process.

Please do not phone me and argue with me on this rating.

As my father used to say, "salesmen say the customer is always right, unless the customer gives the salesman a low rating, at which point the customer is completely wrong!".

John was patient and informative. He greeted my daughter and I as if we were family.
He took his time. The best experience I have had with R & F.
I gave R & F a second chance after having to deal with Paramus store, I'm glad I did. Send John to train Paramus management on customer service!

Raymour & Flanigan warning about buying furniture there. DON'T

I still am trying to get damaged furniture replaced since 12/4/25!
I have never seen such an incompetent staff from customer care or the service department to answering phones!
They blatantly lied to the credit card bank and said my order was complete with no claims of damage! The cc bank closed the dispute claim at Raymour/Flanigan's fraudulent information! I am filing consumer complaints on Monday with the Attornies General of NJ and NY and also with the Better Business Bureau!
What else to you want to know?
I have a file on all my attempts to resolve this!

Best furniture shopping experience

My wife and I have been customers at the Secaucus ,NJ store for the past 3 + years. We have purchased all of our furniture there and would not even consider looking elsewhere. Special shout-out to sales associate Gisselle Torres. After our first experience working with her 3 years ago we now call Gisselle to make appointments as we know we will be getting the best service. She is very knowledgeable about all of the furniture and is just a total professional. If you can appreciate being treated as a special guest and not as just a “customer” while furniture shopping then go seeGisselle at the Secaucus location. 5 out of 5 stars…
