IN PRAISE OF COMPANIES WHO STILL PROVIDE A PHONE ENQUIRY FACILITY
I made an enquiry to park long term at Manchester Airport.
I had multiple emails from various companies, including one called Skypark.
Only one company, APH, listed a phone number where I could discuss our specific requirements.
With APH I was able to discuss my special requirement, and to agree an acceptable solution.
Consequently, I was able to make my booking over the phone.
Incidentally, at half the price quoted on line by competitors such as Skypark & others.
Grace & Olivia, the UK based operators with whom I spoke at APH were courteous, knowledgeable about their product and took the time to patiently address my requirement.
My calls were also answered within an acceptable time.
Full marks to APH.
I would urge all UK companies to retain a facility for enquiries over the phone.
Many elderly people find online operation both challenging and stressful.
Regarding phone contact:
response should be within a reasonable time.
The operators should be UK based.
This is because the English pronunciation of overseas based operators is frequently at variance with what we are accustomed to in the UK.
The whole of the caller's attention must be focused on the point in question and not be subdivided trying to understand the English pronunciation of the overseas agent.
There is also sometimes an upto 8 second delay in the transmission of the call between the caller and the agent.
Frequently the insulation of other agents in the call centre is poor. This means you can hear other agents.
All these negative points indicate organisations where their management fail to provide a high calibre of service to the customer
I would urge the public to take this into consideration prior to favouring offending companies with their custom.
Customer service & satisfaction must not be eroded to maximise companies profits.
