From the moment I went to this company Keith has been brilliant. Not a pushy sales guy but a genuinely nice man who wants to help. I will definitely be back when my son has money together to get his 1st wee car!

I bought a Vauxhall Astra for £5000 and we’re now selling it to the scrap yard for £250. Endless engine and car battery trouble (which they initially paid for to be fair) but this car from redpath mclean has been a compete disaster since we bought. Multiple engine failures as well as tyre and wheel issues. Unrelentingly costly an we’ve not had it longer than 18 months.

Got a 2015 Volvo v40 £6500 hasn’t worked since the day I bought it 5month a go it came with one key fob no boot cover and odd size yurts a hard dead battery not even half way home dpf filter packed in now lam about £2000out of pocket no help drone any one finance 24/7 redpath&mclean don’t want to now trying to get it sorted through finance company so don’t no we’re all these reviews are coming from worst experience of my life try be for you buy

Brillant and friendy very helpful no pressure to buy and just paid for 2 new tyres on my car today about 45 mins highly recommended for a second hand car great selection and a great deals

I had the great pleasure and privilege of dealing with Ricky and Dave at this garage. I got a brilliant deal on a fantastic Audi TT from the staff at this garage. It is a wonderful car and the price was exceptional - my insurers value it at £1500 over what I paid. Got a knackered car from these lot wanted my money back as it wasn't the first knackered car I got from them the punk kept 1500 pound of my money or wouldn't take car back so returned me 1200 and he kept the 1500 pounds and the car proper crook don't be fooled by his smile AVOID!!

This is a write up about Redpath and McLean and his they have over a period of time went above and beyond helping my wife and myself with the second car we purchased from them.

5 stars ask the way, more of I could give them.

We purchased second car in February 23 and had an initial problem that was flagged up from second day. The guys, Dave, Keith and crew got the car and had the diagnosis and a part supplied to fix the problem. Unfortunately this did not completely fix the issue and the car had to go to few different places, it was one of these annoying problems that didn't fling up an engine management light but was an issue when it happened putting the car into limp mode and needed fixed. In between the car needed the air condition re gassed and the air con thing that made it work fixed to. Not a problem, it was done fast and no questions asked. Impressed.

The car parcel shelf was missing and we ordered one ourselves from that auction site…got the receipt and email that to Dave and they immediately paid that into account as soon as they received it.

The car still has to get the issue fixed that we initially had but was proving to be a bit of a pain…and they tried to fix this. Problem is with type of problem, no engine management light makes it much more difficult to fix it even find.

Long story short, after 8 months..(we had 6 months warranty even purchased) they still tried to fix this…bit to no avail, so far.

I have major medical issues and because of that and fur a refund because we need a car to use during treatment….

Dave and Keith and everybody else associated with R&M were top notch, did everything they could to find and fix this problem…. But alas we had to get refund…. Even then Keith never moaned or made it difficult..in fact he made so much easier for us taking the worry out of getting the refund done and dusted…brilliant.

We already have another car from these guys and no issues.

Would I recommend them? Yes, absolutely….

If you want honest people to buy from who actually deal with any problems then these guys are where I would go. And we will be back, after my medical issues are hopefully resolved, and we will buy another car when they have one that we like.

Bought a Qashqai from Ricky who went over and above for me. Staying over his work day so I could test drive it due to my hours and was completely happy when I needed overnight to make up my mind. Traded my old car It was all easy which is how buying a car should be.

Just did an 3k mile trip and car was flawless.

Sells dangerous cars do not buy from them, bought car 2 months ago only done a couple of hundred miles and tyre blew out and had to get towed home, on inspection of the tyre the inner side of the tyre was badly cracked and worn, on inspection of the other back wheel this was also found to be badly cracked and corroded and had to be changed thankfully the blowout happened in city would have hated to think what could have happened if this was on the motorway the car should never have been sold in this condition and was dangerous avoid this company

1st choice was used to ram open their gates to steal another car between buying & collecting
Keith found us a suitable replacement which developed a fault after three weeks which was fixed without argument or evasion.

Excellent experience with Redpath & McLean today. Traded in my own car and bought a new one, they really helped with all the small practical details of taxing the car etc. The new car I bought needed a small piece of work so they gave me a loan car for the afternoon, and my new one was ready to collect as agreed. I would definitely go back to them, and advise friends to check them out if looking to change car. Trustworthy and helpful.

I bought a four year old Kia from Redpath and McLean at the end of last year. They had the exact model and specification I was looking for, in stock and within my budget. I wasn't able to get through to view the car, but Keith was very helpful and sent over plenty of high resolution photos. He then took time going through them with me on the phone, effectively giving a "virtual walk round" of the car. He also went through the service history in detail, and answered a few questions I had around past maintenance and a previous dealer recall which he confirmed had been completed. The car had 6 months MOT left, but Keith was happy to put it through another test and sort a few small issues with the bodywork (stonechips on the bonnet, which he clearly photographed and was up front about). I was given a realistic timeframe for this work, and the car was ready on time within a week. When I arrived to collect the car, it was exactly as described, well presented, and the remedial work had been completed to a very high standard. I had arranged my own finance in advance, and left it to Keith to liaise directly with the finance company on my behalf. All I had to do was sign the paperwork on arrival. Even at that late stage there was no pressure to complete the sale, if the car had not been as described I have no doubt that I could have walked away without any hassle. A very enjoyable car buying experience, and despite being 70 miles from home, I would have absolutely no hesitation in using Redpath and McLean in the future. Thank you.

Worst place to get a car from they sold my partner a rangerover on finance and the car is full of issues that they probably knew about, the car failed it’s mot two days before they sold us it and then they got it passed the only issue with this is it looks like a fake mot as the faults that it failed on needed fixed shortly after we got the car redpath sent the car to their garage and they said they fixed it but two days later the car broke down again I then called the garage up and they told me they didn’t do the work properly we are going through a long process of handing the car back but to be honest Keith doesn’t seem to care about helping with this as he has been ignoring the finance company every time they try to get a hold of him, it should have been straightforward to sort this because if you go by the consumer rights act you must give the dealership one chance to fix the problem we have done this and they actually made the car worse yet they still want nothing to do with it wouldn’t recommend anyone to go to this place

A gem of a Place! This place in East Edinburgh is fab,they have been there at Salamander Street for 13 years,theres not many dealerships like this fab place,when you arrive,they introduce themselves & leave you to browse,through their vast selection of quality used cars from 2k to 28k,I love this no pressure car buying enviroment,they are actively building good long term business relationship with their ever growing customer fan base,they sell cars at a very fair price. They are very approachable guys. Keep up the good work team!
