The worst ever taxi service.
I would have given 0 star if that was possible.
I should have checked other reviews before booking a pick up from Gatwick airport, but it was a last minute booking w roadrunners...the first and the last booking for sure

We had to find the driver at 2am at the airport, no meet and greet.
Asked to pay for airport parking...refused to...took driver at least 5 min to figure out how to oay for parking,.. coukd not find his way out the airport...went into a dead end.. could hardly reverse...then went into a one way street from the wrong direction....we asked him to take us back to the airport...he did not....a complete nightmare...would not recommend to anyone...totally incompetent...was dreading for our lives at some point....writing a formal complaint too.

Booked an airport cab at 3.30am for an early morning flight. Cab never turned up and my neighbour eventually took us….nearly missed our flight. They profess to be a 24hr cab firm but when I called to say no one turned up, no one answered! I called over 10times(!) What a crappy firm this is….unreliable and rude when I complained the next day! No apology whatsoever….so avoid at all cost!

Spectacularly bad! I’m amazed this company is still trading. Ordered a cab and explained how important it was as I needed to get to an important meeting and was promised it would arrive on time…. It didn’t and when I called 10 mins later I was told it was on its way…. It still didn’t arrive so I called 10 mins after and was then told the car hadn’t even been dispatched! Missed my train and my appointment. Never again.

Didn’t actually get a taxi in the end. Booked a cab from the road runners office and told it would be 15 minutes - got a text through of the number plate. Went in after 25 and told it would be another 5 mins. After another 15 minutes saw the car go past which had the exact number plate we were sent - FULL OF PEOPLE and drove straight past. Absolute waste of time! Walked over to the train station and got a taxi from there instead. Much more reliable.

Useless - better to walk than use these cowboys! . The Driver we had tried to blackmail me before getting into the cab for an airport trip saying that roadrunners had given me the wrong pice . Did not argue as had to be at Heathrow for 5 am. On arrival told me it was £10 more than my app confirmation had said , refused to pay at which point he got out and became threatening and abusive . If he’d of touched me he would have made the worst error of his life, luckily he too my sons advice and got back into his cab . Complained to roadrunners but they don’t care . NEVER use this bunch of extortionists !

I would never use this firm again. I was staying in a remote place in Newdigate and was completely dependent on taxis. I made three bookings using the app and no one turned up! I thought they hadn't been able to find me the first couple of times, so made sure I was outside on the road the third time. On Monday morning I was standing on the road waiting from 07:50 until 08:40. As before, I had to phone them because they don't contact you. I missed the train I had wanted and it made my whole day late.
They need to a) sort out the app so it shows you your allocated driver for pre-bookings and gives you an ETA b) have a whatsapp account so people without access to the network can phone on their wifi c) ensure customer call backs happen when they've made mistakes. I have now switched to a local independent driver and wouldn't touch Roadrunner with a barge pole. I might be paying more but don't care because I'd rather know someone is going to turn up. I don't think this business deserves to succeed unless it faces up to some the criticisms mentioned here and makes some changes.

Atrocious!
Late. Unobtainable on the phone. Arrived with a car that was too small despite the enhanced fee charged for a ‘people carrier’ suitable for 6 travelling with 3 large suitcases.
Have used in the past but they have gone downhill.
Wish I’d checked these reviews first- will never use again!

I booked a taxi online for a day in advance and the booking accepted. I was told WALLY was on his way!!
After 7 messages left on their answer service and an hours wait WALLY never turned up!! Says it all!! Completely waste of time! Avoid!

They were so late we missed our train and ended up walking to the station with a car seat, bag and baby.

I am disgusted with this company, I have used them for years but sadly in the past 6 months they have gone down hill terribly. Ive been told theres no cabs for an hr when I tried to book it the operator put the phone down on me, ( this has happened on several occasions) Ive also been told twice that they have no cabs avaliable and I was not allowed to prebook or wait, I was then told if I do wait its unlikely a cab would actually turn up (the operator then laughed), on another occasion I was told an hour sadly 2 hrs later before it turned up. I was given a 5%discount code due to being a carer but half the drivers never put it through. I tried to complain but I didnt actually get anywhere as I told the operator (Fewed) he was ( swear word beginning with f) rude and I was then told it was me that was rude although I apologised I later found out his the owners nephew so clearly I wasnt going to get any where. I have also been in a cab and the driver was all over the place and didnt stop at 2 roundabouts he then told me he was tiered and needed to go off as he couldnt keep his eyes open! Its a shame this 1 operator is so rude as the others were friendly and most of the drivers are friendly.
I would not recommend this cab service at all. I will be looking into ubers or bolt from now on.
I am so disgusted on how ive been treated that i am looking into how to take this further.

Booked for 7.45am and the driver called to say he would arrive at 8.30am. This is after the operator told me I was being prioritised!

The best they could do was offer to cancel my booking. I'll be late for work but the idea I'd ever trust them to get me to an airport in time is laughable, so lucky escape I guess.

Two decades ago they were the best in the area so it's sad to see the company has been run into the ground.

Avoid. They don’t turn up.

Today I had to take my little dog to the vets after for a check up after his op on Thursday got a taxi there with my dog although the driver was surprised I had my dog with me never the less he took us which I appreciated very much. On the way how I went to book a taxi from the office and I told the operator I had a dog he told me there are only 2 dog friendly cars and none are available today so I said what do u want me to do stand out here with my poorly dog he said I understand well let me tell you you don’t understand because if you just cared one once you would have listened but instead you cut me off. I get you have a police and not every driver likes dogs therefore I ask the operator if he could or would mind to put a message to the drivers to see if anyone would mind I would also pay more but all the operator said was no this is a horrible service and no effort was made well I tell you my dog is back home safe and sound as we had to get the bus and the bus driver was lovely who needs a taxi.

We are another dissatisfied customer when on two recent occasions have been let down with no explanation or apology for being nearly half an hour late. We won’t be using again.

Biggest waste of space DON'T USE. Ordered a taxi didn't arrive phoned up five times each time was told it was on its way never arrived one hour later gave up and walked. Phoned up to complain didn't care less.

Have used these guys for years and it is going downhill!!! I’m moving to Uber - on sever occasions have been very late and uncommunicative. Such a shame, would like to use a local firm.

I booked a 5am taxi to take me to Gatwick Airport on the 6th Jan.
The App told me my driver was 4 mins away, then 2 mins away then back to on his way. This cycle repeated for 30 minutes. I had waited down the drive so not to wake up the household and stood for 30 minutes in freezing conditions.
There is no way to contact the main office at that time since no-one answers and the drivers number just took me to the main office.
The management book too many people when they know they do not have enough drivers. Then the driver has to face the disgruntled passenger.
Absolutely appalling management operation to do this.
The driver himself was friendly and got me there quickly but obviously has to deal with angry, late passengers daily.
I will not use them again

Booked cab for 10 am as had train to catch, not coming until 10.30 so have missed train

Do not use this company. Find an alternative. Totally unreliable. Such a shame they are ruining AB’s fantastic reputation now they have taken over. Pre ordered taxi’s days in advance the first taxi collecting us was 30mjns late resulting in us been late for our reservation. The taxi home was ordered for 12.30am finally after lots of calls, holding & just been cut off they finally turned up at 1.50 am. This left us stood out in the rain on a cold night for 1hour 20mins. Totally unacceptable, no apology offered whatsoever. To make matters worse as this was paid in advance on checking my account they have now taken 3 payments for two trips!! I cannot stress the upset this caused on the evening . Clear & simple do not use this company!!

WORSE SERVICE EVER! AVOID
Booked multiple taxis for a Christmas party. One driver was over an hour late for a pre booked taxi days in advance, no apology and drove dangerously fast!
The second driver also extremely late, no phone call we had to keep calling them.

Amazingly their service only got worse later that evening.
Again another pre booked taxi for 12pm never came, no phone call, stood outside in the cold rain for 20mins waiting - nothing, phoned and was told they were running late and would be there at 1am we explained that the venue was closing before that and they just laughed at said what do you want me to do about that.
1am no taxi, called to complain and they claimed they sent a taxi at 12pm and called and we didn't come, now couldn't get there until 1.30am!

The other pre booked drivers never showed up after over an hour, extremely rude operator just laughed and started swearing saying it wasn't his problem! That was after he rudely just hung up on us when asked how long were the drivers going to be.

Ended up using Reigate Cars who were brilliant.

Avoid Road Runners at all cost, they are a complete waste of time! Unreliable, rude, liars!
