The most insightful Woke Lefty Paradise in gaming

My favourite Woke Lefty Paradise in the entire gaming world. And one of the only spaces where I can feel truly safe as a gamer who's also a leftist woman, which should be absurd to say in 2026, yet here we f*kin are.

They're wonderful as journalists. I'm often curious what specifically RPS has to say about various games and events. Their articles are well-researched, and their insights are original and thought-provoking (Edwin, seriously, I want to write like you when I grow up).

Never change, RPS. Your presence in our industry is more important than can be put to words. Thank you for all the hard work you do ❤️

My 16th year and Counting...

In my 16th year of frequenting RPS I still find it THE best Games Journalism infinite-scroll in the world.

Ignore the fascists: they hate that, lol.

If you want intelligent, thoughtful contemplation of all facets of the Gaming industry, including the "pOliTiks in mUh Gayms", look no further. It's witty, humorous, and nuanced like you wish your parents were.

I am deeply amused by how many of the negative reviewers here say they followed RPS for years before it "got political" or "woke" around JKRowlingGate, which I can only interpret as them COMPLETELY failing to notice decades of preceding RPS content, like the article from its founder in 2013 titled "Misogyny, Sexism, And Why RPS Isn't Shutting Up - A Mission Statement"

Utter Nonsense

I haven't relied on a written 'Game review' for such a long time (just one person's opinion). In this age of audio-visual media, we can quickly establish whether we might actually enjoy a game ourselves by using Youtube / Twitch etc... I would argue that Games 'Journalism' is dead. Certainly in the case of Rock, Paper, Shotgun - who seem to publish articles that are just complete non-sensical gibberish, and most likely pandering to a minority of people who, ironically, aren't actually 'gamers'.

Heavy Far-Left Bias masquerading as objective Gaming Journalism

Let me just start by saying that I am neither left nor right-leaning politically, and consider myself to be a true centrist which is a bit of a dying breed and quite unpopular in 2023. RPS used to be one of the greatest PC Gaming sites, with a great cast of journalists who wrote witty, edgy, and sometimes even controversial takes on the PC gaming scene that many other journalists were afraid to discuss candidly.

However, over the past 5-7 years, what used to be an edgy and entertaining gaming site has quickly diverged into a political platform for pushing far-left ideology and an unhealthy obsession with political correctness and woke virtue signalling in many, but not all of its articles. I have no problem with RPS covering games that appeal to LBGTQ+ individuals, that's totally fine and acceptable with freedom of speech. However, what I do have a problem with is when legitimate game reviews are transformed into clickbait articles which push a political narrative. Refusing to review the Harry Potter game just because JK Rowling thinks that trans activism is potentially harmful to legitimate feminist concerns is a perfect example of silencing the other side, in the interest of making a health debate between the left and right not even possible. So refusing to review a game in the interest of wokeness and silencing of free speech, is the exact type of cancel-culture BS that I, nor anyone else wants from a website that should just be reviewing games.

If RPS wants to have a political slant, I would much prefer if they featured op-eds and multiple viewpoints. Instead of pushing only far-left journalism, why not allow space for right-leaning, and center-leaning columnists. In fact, this would allow for healthy debate and multiple viewpoints, as opposed to the echo chamber which RPS and so many other 'journalistic' sites have become

I can no longer stomach it now and a lot of people I know through gaming groups feel the same way.
The amount of self righteousness and impotent outrage from limp wristed journos with sheltered middle class backgrounds is off the charts.
Refusing to review Hogwarts and likening JKR to a fascist for simply stating that there are biological differences between Men and Women is literally as bad as believing in a flat earth.
Never go full Guardian.

Going to exclude this site from my search engines and teach my gaming community how to actually do it. It's freaking 2022, create revenue with different strategies instead of begging for subscription money or forcing people to stop using adblock when they want to read your mediocre articles. Try affiliate marketing for example.

Tried to read an article on the site and was assaulted with pop ups telling me to turn off my add blocker or pay them money to keep it turned on. It's 2021 IDGAF if you were the ONLY site to read game reviews on I'm not paying you money to read a biased article written by some far left fanatic and I'm definitely not disabling my add blocker.. 0/5 stars

Once good. A lefty paradise now.

Used to be a good site for the latest gaming news etc.

Now anytime I dare to peek at the site again, hoping beyond hope it's dumped these weirdo's that write, or what passes for writing, for them, I end up dissapointed.

A once good site now ruined by wokeness.

Rates games based on how woke they are

Rates games based on how woke they are. Feminazi games where men are vilified in every possible way get max praise, while displaying half a b**b or introducing a woman who is not a heroic badass, will result in a game being called sexist and being downrated as hell.
