Salsateca Dance School Avis 

After reaching a low point in my life, I made the decision to try the one thing that I've always shied away from: dance.

I initially felt nervous about the whole new experience I was about to encounter, but after trying out my first lesson at Salsateca, I immediately knew I was at the right place thanks to very friendly and sociable environment and wonderful teachers. My two left feet and lack of dancing experience really showed, but the patient, attentive, encouraging, courteous, and highly skilled teachers never gave up on me and till this day continue to support and guide me throughout my dance journey.

I now attend several classes throughout the week, ranging from Cross Body Salsa, Bachata, and Cuban Salsa - I've officially discovered my love and passion for dance!

Whether you're a complete novice like I was, or someone who already has a dance background, I can't recommend Salsateca enough. I feel really proud to be part of the amazing Salsateca family and I want to thank all my wonderful teachers for their ongoing guidance and support, they have helped me in more ways than they realise.

I met one of the Salsateca teachers by chance during a class organised by my college last October. What started as a bit of a fun during my lunch hour has now become a new passion and vibrant community in London.

I have had lessons with most of the teachers and each one is friendly, professional and cares about their students' progress. After a few weeks, I felt at home, making new friends from around the world and learning a fantastic new skill.

Salsateca also offers 1-to-1 lessons to help you perfect your dancing. I recently had my first with Virginia and it is without doubt the most useful hour of instruction I have had. She totally understood the difficulty of learning to lead and gave me practical tips to help me gain confidence for social dancing. I will certainly be going back for more!

Salsateca has given me much more than just dance lessons, it has made this big city feel more like home. If you've ever thought of taking up dance, I couldn't recommend it more highly!

100% recommend !! Great school and amazing teachers! I started dancing with them about 2 years ago, and really felt the progress. The classes are always very fun, you meet a lot of people and very enjoyable environment to learn 😊 They offer classes every day, in different venues across London which make it very convenient for anyone to go after work. Several days in the week they also have free social dancing after the classes which is great to practice with other students and the teachers. My favorite is the 3-hour intensive cuban workshop on saturdays!

I started Salsa dancing a year ago and couldn't get enough of it! It offered "time out" to unwind, learn and have fun! I found a couple of local venues where I continue to go regularly. Around this same time I "discovered" Salsateca! Well, what can I say: A year on and the experience continues to be wonderful!

I live South of the River so attend Salsa lessons (Cross Body and Cuban style) as well as Bachata, at the Bromley and Orpington venues - I rarely miss a session! I have recently started attending Salsateca's Intensive Workshop - 3 hour Cuban Salsa, up in London! What an experience!

The teachers at all the venues I have attended are so experienced and from many different countries. They bring diversity and teach with such passion and enthusiasm, which allows students to feel inspired, comfortable and at ease! The classes are always fun and engaging and all steps are broken down. As for the music - wonderful every time! Periodically, special parties are organised, which as well as being fun and exciting, offers more time for social dancing.

I have met so many new people - eventually one begins to feel they belong to a Salsa family! The venues are lovely - some with bars!

I would highly recommend Salsa/Bachata lessons with Salsateca - you come away feeling such a sense of enjoyment, calmness and achievement. No matter which level you are at, Salsateca caters for all - complete beginners through to advance.

As a single lady coming to the lessons by myself, I felt quite anxious. However, the entire team at Salsateca was amazing right from the beginning – from the lady on the phone, to the lady at the door, and all the teachers. Despite having 2 left feet, I managed to learn to dance salsa and bachata in just a few months, and by the second or third lesson, I had already met quite a lot of people. Everyone was very friendly, the venues were nice, and it was a great experience overall.

I have been attending Salsateca classes for a few years. I have attended various classes taught by different teachers and different venues. I did not have any dancing experience before this.

The environment is amazing, the teachers are very welcoming and patient. You get to have fun and learn dancing at the same time. I would definitely recommend giving Salsateca a try if you haven't.

I recently started taking salsa classes at this amazing company and I have been blown away by the fantastic teachers and the overall experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warmth and enthusiasm, which immediately put me at ease.

The teachers are not only incredibly talented dancers, but also patient, encouraging, and passionate about sharing their love for salsa with their students. They break down the steps in a way that is easy to understand and make the class fun and engaging for everyone.

The atmosphere in the class is always lively and energetic, and I leave each class feeling invigorated and excited to come back for more. The teachers go above and beyond to ensure that everyone in the class feels included and supported, no matter their skill level.

I have seen tremendous improvement in my dancing abilities since I started taking classes here, and I owe it all to the amazing teachers who have inspired and motivated me every step of the way. I highly recommend this salsa class to anyone looking to learn and have a great time doing it!

I have been attending classes here since mid-December 2023 and have attended several classes on different days and different locations (mostly on weekends) and I must say that the teachers are all amazing!
They are all friendly, welcoming and open to having a laugh. The people who attend these sessions have all been open minded and welcoming as well - I strongly recommend them for anyone who is looking to take a step out of their comfort zone or looking to improve their salsa 💃

Their classes can sometimes be too packed (specially on Saturdays) which can make it difficult to learn, however this effectively mimics actual dancing conditions in salsa clubs.

A few years back it was an amazing place to go and learn & dance social Latin dances in the city of London. However, in the last years: teachers, their selected venues for classes and parties became a poor quality and not worth the price you pay in return of what you get. I’m not saying they are the worst in London area (there are definitely worse places than Salsateca) but I wish they could have kept the same quality of their classes and parties provided to their all dancers over the years. Side note: there are exceptions to some of their parties or classes quality but you have to be selective and make your own justification which are good for you and which are not. But again, remembering what Salsateca used to be - I can’t give more than one star at this right moment in comparison of what they have became now.
