Self-Build Zone Avis 28

I bought a Build Zone policy in 2019, I wanted to increase the cover on my policy for the 2 houses as per the buyers lender requirement (apparently a normal thing as different lenders have a different criteria) I was told by Build Zone that this was not possible as their underwriters had stopped all amendments and new policies I spoke with Josh at Buid Zone who could'nt have been less helpful. This leaves me with a useless policy and no one to speak with, I have been offered a refund of 30% even charging me a cancellation fee! DO NOT DEAL WITH THESE PEOPLE. I gave 1 star because it does'nt allow less. I bought the policy through Build Safe, who were great on the selling of the policy but not so on the after service.

I have been told by two of your representatives that although I wish simply to extend a site insurance policy that I have had with your company for over 4 years I must fill in a new online form which I find is designed for a new customer and asks questions that are not longer appropriate. When I asked for details of the existing policy the representative curtly said she would only send the details of the policy to me and refused to be of any personal help. In changing your system to a one size fits all, the onus is being put too heavily on the customer to bear the consequences and make sense of these changes. Renewals in the past were easy and pleasant so I have left it to the last minute to renew this year. Altogether the changes you have made to your system leads to a far worse experience for the customer, and probably for the staff.

Absolutely wonderful firm with customer service and team work above and beyond. The team work and care from Buildzone enabled us to complete and move into our new home despite a last minute oversight by our solicitor. If it hadn’t been for the understanding, urgency and prioritising our need for the warranty to satisfy our lender we would have not been able to complete and therefore move in to the house which would have caused us huge problems.
I cannot recommend them enough and thank you Buildzone, Matt in the technical team and Laurence for pulling our report and warranty together so quickly.
