Avoid ,avoid , avoid !
Won a vehicle , I paid 3500£ , when they bring the vehicle out ,the vehicle have a lot of damage that wasn t listed , steering wasn t working , vehicle doesn t start ,they take it inside start it ,when they bring it back after 2 min car stopped again , (vehicle was listed start and drive ) , I told them I don t want it ,they become being so rude , they deduct 500£ from my money and they don t gave me any receipt for the auction fees! It s a waste of time and money ! After 1 h ,when I left ,they list the car again without the other problems that the car had , and I asked my dad to phone them up and ask what was wrong with the car and they simply said “nobody pays for it ‘ avoid them !

Unprofessional, Unreliable vehicle collection service. Recommend avoiding using Silverlake unless you want to waste 11 hours waiting in for a collection.
Silverlake require improving their customer service skills. - No phone call, text or email on the day to inform that they won’t be coming. How rude & dis courteous is that for a business to have not have the decency for some form of communication.
Received the pick up text a week ago and spoke to an advisor.
Best of going to an independent breakers yard if you require a car collection. At least locally they are grateful for the business.

This company are great to deal with. The whole experience of selling your car to them is easy. You get a quote online, book a slot to have your car collected, and they will turn up when they say they will. As for getting paid, you have to email them some ID and your bank details, and the money is in your bank within 48hrs. I would definitely recommend Silverlake.
I scraped my car
I scraped my car, the driver who came and collect the car was very polite and courteous. I was not 100% sure about which part of the log book to give, he explained which bit, made sure I knew how to register the car to the company. I would use them again. The people on the phone was also very polite and told me what to do and what paperwork I would need to give the driver
Fantastic service, paid what they said they would.
My next door neighbor had used Silverlake just a week before me and thought i would try them out after failed attempts to scrap my car wit other companies who would just ignore me. Silverlake have been fantastic with their service. i simply put my car in for a quote, they rang me to book a slot and it was all very easy to change details over and they just picked up without me having to wait all day. On the day of pick up they picked up very early in the morning with no problems. I will 100% be going to them if i ever need help with scrapping my car.

I needed a part for my Golf that was just impossible to find anywhere, I visited Silverlake today and within 5 minutes was driving home with the correct part which I fitted when I got home, fantastic place, and lovely people to deal with, would recommend to anyone.

Fake warranty, Very Poor
I ordered a rear light cluster for over £300 that came with 12 months warranty, its not working now and is only a few months old. Contacted them and they told me I had to buy a new part and they would accept a return on the other one then issue a refund. Something not quite right there, why not just send the replacement?? Dodgy company with fake policies. Beware!
Replacement wheel and tyres
My daughter came in to collect a new wheel and get some tyres fitted. As she's quite young she was a bit scared to go on her own but she said everyone was very nice and helpful and she felt very comfortable while she was there. Thanks for helping her!

Delivery date not accurate! The item was supposed to arrive in 3 days after the purchase but took them 4 days to dispatch it! Useless customer service! Don’t waste your time!

What a con !!!! I was trying to help my friend scrap her car & these people are only interested in “ helping insurance cars !!! They advertise to help for everywhere to help & scrap your car & pick it up if it’s not drive able …. Different story really bad n the phone & not helpful either !

I am not one for leaving reviews but credit where credit is due.... I scrapped my car with Silverlake who not only offered £100 or so more than others they were also really local. Really quick and easy to do. Hours later (about 1750 on a Friday!)I was missing some keys which I suspected had slipped under the seat. Paul the site manager couldn't have been more helpful - he checked there and then but the car was inaccessible and took my details and promised to call back Saturday morning which is exactly what he did, there was even an offer to post them. Top service, thanks!

I rang them up about a salvage vehicle, asked what damage there was, she replied, just a broken drivers side window and a rub on the drivers side door mirror, I rang up to enquire as I live in Cornwall and said to her I want to make sure it's worth the journey, almost 400 miles round trip. The vehicle was ending on the auction website at 12.45pm today 16th February 2024, up I go with the car trailer, arrived at 10 am, got the keys off a lady and she pointed the way, well where do I start, looks like they've stated stripping the thing, almost every bit of plastic trim has been torn off and snapped, and thrown in the boot, the carpet had been slashed with a sharp knife, ruined, door rubbers ripped off, all the trim etc in the boot area was hanging there also broken, the underside was damaged by the forklift, door trim on the outside detached from door, front foot well signs of rodent living in there , chewed up plastic etc.
The vehicle being a range rover 2016 model is not a cheap vehicle to get the parts for, I just could not believe it.
Who ever won the auction is surely going to be very upset.
So the moral of this review is : Dont take their word for it , I'm glad I didn't bid for it, always go and view it first,

From start to finish the customer service was excellent. Communication was quick and everything was smooth. Even when I couldn’t make the appointment they managed to get me the next day. Very happy overall.

Went to u-pick-it today at Silverlake for the first time. All staff I spoke to were friendly and helpful. I found the part I wanted easily in the yard and paid a fair price for it. It's already fitted and working in my Mum's car. Recommended.

Very professional service. Car was removed and the money was paid into my account the next day . Lovely experience with both the gentleman on the phone and the recovery driver who were very helpful and polite.

Terrible customer service and very disappointing in the way they deal with their customers.
Won a car in auction on Friday afternoon. First thing Monday morning I called to arrange Pick up and ultimately I wasn’t satisfied with the way customer services handled my query and responded towards me. Having read reviews online beforehand I wasn’t surprised.
Moving forward I Informed the person whom I spoke with that I will make the payment which was £11976 the next day and I will collect the vehicle the following day and everything was done.
As I was making the payment the following day I realised they had suspended my account. Got in touch with their customer support team once again and they didn’t provide me with a solution and started putting the blame on me for which I had previously spoken to customer service to arrange the date of payment and pick up.
I explained everything to Wayne that I have purchased a Vehicle for £11976 and I would like to make a payment but he insisted that I pay £30 extra late payment or they will close my account.
Im shocked and disappointed as a business owner my self that they are happy to lose a customer for life and damage their reputation for £30 when I’m happy to spend nearly £12000 in one purchase and it’s not even my fault. For me the £30 is not the issue, it’s the principal behind it where I feel I have been treated incorrectly for a late payment I was ready to pay as scheduled anyway. As a result, I’m very disappointed and I’m happy not to buy ever again business and get my account closed.
All they think about it money I’m happy for them to close my account I won’t like to do business with them ever again.

Not sticking to web prices, buyer beware!!!!!
I’ve just purchased a second hand Toyota GT86 wheel. I phoned on the morning to check the wheel was still there before I collected it. The wheel was still there, so I said the website price is £89.99, with the £10 surcharge for old wheel, it would be £79.99, yes he said.
I then said, would you be able to swap the tyre over, he said yes, will do that for free.
Great, so, I went to get the wheel. Arrived, went to pay for it, was then told it was £103, I said on the website it’s 89.99.
The chap there said, with the surcharge it would be £89.99, which doesn’t add up.
Also, I was charged £13 to re-fit the tyre.
So, why say over the phone they can do that for free.
Anyway, total was £102.99. I paid it and left.
What I would like to now is. if the wheel is advertised at £89.99, less the £10 surcharge for old wheel plus £13 tyre fitting = £92.99. Then why was I not charged that.
It’s obvious to me the price was inflated by exactly £10 so they would get that back when I paid to cover the surcharge.
I look forward to an explanation as to why this was.
At least I don’t need to dispose of the wheel my self, but never the less, I think this is under handed to say the least.

Misleading description
I’m shocked by their customer service management, I called to raise a complain about a hidden damaged to vehicles by not taking photo showing how bad which takes only one extra second. They replied to they don’t have to because this how they catch silly people like me (pointed by person was over phone)
Two doors vehicle damaged on driver side door and structure rear wheel arch which showing that in photo not the post behind door which takes a second to open door and take photo they replied to me they don’t have a time to do that however driver needs to open that door to park it away.
Second car was water pump poring a water and timing chain noise and driver seat been damaged by dog which is wasn’t in photo advert and they said my responsibility to check car before bidding how if they misled photo and description.
Please be aware of that when you place a bid through SilverLake Southampton.
