Hi Thomas, we’re sorry for the confusion, but we’d like to clarify that this is not a scam.

You purchased the Premium Plan for HKD 1,550 on June 11, which included 25 introduction credits. Your investor/buyer profile was reviewed and activated on June 12. The issue appears to have occurred because another profile was later created via WhatsApp using a different email address. Since your original profile was already approved and active, the duplicate profile was rejected to avoid multiple accounts for the same user.

Your approved profile has been active since June 13, and 2 introduction credits have already been used by you from your plan. We also did not receive any query or support request from you regarding this confusion before this review.

To continue using the service, please log in with the correct email address used for the approved profile instead of creating or using a different email. Our team will be happy to help you access the correct account and continue using your remaining introduction credits if you write to us with the specific details. Please contact support and we’ll assist you further.

We note that after using the platform for more than nine months, you mentioned two new bond programs for fundraising on your profile, which is not allowed on SMERGERS. These were not part of the profile initially.

Furthermore, while your profile mentioned that no upfront fee would be charged, upon clarification, you stated that the service fee is charged by funding companies and must be paid upfront by businesses.

Any such contradictory information, which may mislead business owners, cannot be approved, as it could potentially lead to financial scams and businesses being cheated, which we aim to prevent.

During your subscription period, we introduced you to six relevant buyers and investors. We noticed that you initially registered your spices business for sale in Amsterdam and subscribed to a paid plan. Later on, you updated the same profile to list a hotel business in Jamaica instead. On our platform, each profile needs to accurately represent the original business it was created for. This is because different businesses and locations attract different investors, and allowing these major changes could cause confusion and mismatches for everyone using SMERGERS. That’s why we don’t allow such major changes to business profiles. Once we noticed the update, we reverted your profile back to the original hotel listing and promptly notified you, as per our guidelines.

We want to reassure you that your hotel profile remains live and active, and your account is not blocked. You still have full access to all the features and services that come with your plan. At no point have we "taken" your money or restricted your use of the website.

Our records indicate that you registered your Lubricants Store to seek investors and subscribed to the Fast Track plan to sell your lubricants store over 1 year 4 months ago. During the subscription period, SMERGERS connected you with three investors from relevant industries, including foreign investors. You also reported that two of these as "Good" introducitons based on initial talks. Since then your listing expired four months ago and you are no longer receiving further introductions on the platform.

Once an introduction is made via our platform, it is the business owner's responsibility to pursue the discussions and work towards a successful closure. The potential for closing a deal depends on several factors, including the attractiveness of the business, reasonable valuation, clear communication, and mutual interest between both parties. While we facilitate introductions and provide visibility among interested verified and relavant investors, buyers, and advisors, we cannot guarantee a successful outcome, as a lot depends on the underlying business and these factors are beyond our control.

We kindly inform you that your profile is on hold as we are still waiting for verification proof from your end. The same has also been emailed to you on 30th May. We would like to remind you that we offer a free option for the first profile to all our users. But the verification process is mandatory before we activate your profile. We are proud to say that many of our users have successfully closed deals with introduced parties without paying any subscription fees.
