It took 3 of our customer service team, and also legal department to get this sorted as TalkTalk was insistent that they had the line, it was after we and the legal department who intervened to sort this. It took over 2 weeks until TalkTalk admitted they had got it wrong and had not completed the transfer properly, we are glad to hear they are refunding you all changes. That's what we do, we go the extra mile for our customers, so they can enjoy their services, and as you have found that's the difference between us and the big boys, we go out of our way to help.

I wrote to Sparta saying that my…

I wrote to Sparta saying that my elderly friend (who had dementia) had died. As executor, I went through friend’s paperwork and found a new direct debit to Sparta for £159 had been set up. I went on Sparta’s website to question what this direct debit was for. I got a reply asking me to enter my bank details and that £1 (“refundable”) would be taken from my bank account! Also, my elderly friend with dementia who died did not have a Smart tv, did not have a mobile phone, did not have a pc nor iPad. Who from this company contacted her in the first place and why please? And why is she being charged when she only had a landline phone and old tv with no need for Sparta’s services?

I am sorry to know about your loss. I ensure you that we will do everything possible to help you in this situation and would like to resolve this query with your utmost satisfaction. I understand that £159 is a big amount to go out as a direct debit and I am sure we will be able to justify that charge, if it has come out. However, I am not sure if this is correct information that we asked you to enter your bank details and said that we will refund £1. It seems that there is a misunderstanding here. Do not deal with this company.

If you receive a telephone call from this company please end the call immediately. My elderly father gave his bank details and set up a direct debit only to find that this was a scam. Representatives of the company are cold calling extremely vulnerable people and taking advantage of their trusting nature.

I am sorry if your experience with us has not been satisfactory and I find it very unfortunate. However, I would also like to urge you to kindly revisit your "scam" comment. I understand there are all sorts of scams going on now a days, unfortunately, especially with the elderly people. I would like to assure you that we are not one of those. I agree that just like any other service provider in the industry, we do have elderly people as our customers but we do have a base of customers ranging from 20 years old to above 80 years of age. Although, we do follow special procedures and do extra efforts when catering to elderly people but we do not discriminate people because of their age. I encourage you to contact us on our customer service should you have any further queries.

Conned my mother to take over the land

Conned my mother to take over the landline and broardband, she is 83 with partial dementia, sold her two contracts under seperate companies Sparta Telecom and Line Telcom), one for phone and the other for broardband at 24 Mb per second. broardbank at $48 per month and telephone at £39 per month. Internet was so bad we struggeld to get 11 Mb per second!
When we found this and tried to cancel they tried hard sales tactics to stop us, almost hassling us by phone.
They only stopped when i told that my mother had just died at which point they demanded proof.
BEWARE of this services provide, there are always bad apples in any industry - This is one of them.
I only hope is that this review helps other prople not to fall in the same trap.

I am sorry for your loss and would like to offer my deepest condolences to you and the family at the time of bereavement. I would simply like to add that there seems to be some misunderstanding about the package as the figures you have mentioned don't match with our records and also, she only had one contract for both of her services. Also, I would like to clarify that we did not mean to put any hassle in front of you and required a proof of death to comply with the regulations. As for the slow speed, I would like to mention your internet speed depends on your opted speed profile and the speed availability in your area for that particular speed profile. As per your package your available area speed was relatively slow and therefore you could only manage to get the speed of 11 Mbps. However, one can opt for the upgrade depending on the availability.

Straightforward interaction

Emailed to inform Sparta that my father had passed away & could they change the account just into my mother's name - immediate response asking for a copy of the death certificate which I'd forgotten to add - then a reply the next day to say they had changed the account name - simple & straightforward

I payed £400 in April for all calls and broadband I had a call today to say that it expired next April. I don’t use the phone very much so glad I don’t have to anymore. until then .
