Our original lodge booking was…
Our original lodge booking was cancelled due to repairs. We were told that we could move our stay to any available lodge on the website at no extra cost. However, when we requested a particular lodge, we were informed that it was not possible because it was significantly more expensive than our original booking. This directly contradicted what we had been told, and the promise was not honoured despite the wording used.
We were then offered a Sports Lodge at no additional charge, which we accepted. We later discovered that this lodge would normally have cost around £125 more than our original booking.
Unfortunately, the lodge itself was disappointing. It was advertised as having a 65-inch TV, but it did not. It also took us over an hour to figure out why the TVs were not working. The shower constantly fluctuated between hot and cold, and the bathroom was not clean on arrival.
The overall site appeared run down, with facilities such as the crazy golf area and other parts of the park looking neglected and overgrown. Reception information stated that it was open until 8pm, yet when we walked over at around 5:30pm, it was already closed. Throughout our stay, we saw very few staff members available.
When we raised our concerns, we were told that we would not receive any refund or compensation because we had been "upgraded" to a better lodge at no extra cost. While we appreciated being moved after our original booking was cancelled, this does not excuse the poor condition of the lodge, the inaccurate information provided, or the issues we experienced during our stay.
Overall, we left feeling disappointed by both the accommodation and the way our concerns were handled.

We paid for extra packages which we either didn't get or were very poor. I have tried to contact the company Staycation Breaks but they are very slow at replying,if at all. I sat and cried and did the same when we got back home. This was meant to be the relaxing break we needed after such a terrible few months but it wasnt to be and the company have no empathy 😔

Everything was fine,super locations and facilities. Friendly staff,if you want a break in a quiet area this is the one. Definitely recommend.
Run down, far from the advertised luxury
Advertised as luxury. Holes in floor. One pan and no oven trays. Cutlery were broken. Decking boards broken no table outside, just a run down rattan sofa and one chair.
On arrival I had to clean the lodge.
Bar had bottled supermarket tonic and my g&t was flat as the bottle had been open a while for other customers. The seating areas were really run down.
When I contacted the agent about my issues I was asked to speak to onsite staff, we did this, we got an oven tray and a frying pan. Told to be careful with the decking board as they knew about it. (We had children with us). And we were told they would bring us a table for the decking area which never arrived.
Wifi and TVs didn’t work, arial wires missing.
I absolutely loved the area, so peaceful!

Lovely lodge inside, well equipped for cooking.
Had a lovely break at lakeside secret gardens, (previously little eden). Staff come and checked the hot tub on Saturday, then Sunday it was very cloudy on the evening.
Was a nice quiet site for a relaxing weekend away with the family!
Just think it needs a little bit of love fixing things up and it would be perfect!
Was previously meant to be staying at applegrove, Scarborough which got cancelled. So we had a choice of where to go with no extra payment- managed to get booked at lakeside luckily as we had already paid and booked flamingo land.

I was supposed to be staying at Applegrove lodges from the 26th of April till the 28th of April had no communication from staycation/liv retreats so I thought everything was fine to go ahead I already had the gate codes from one of my old bookings (that actually got cancelled) so on the 26th I went to the park to find it all condemned I’d not had one email to cancel and offer a refund etc I then wrote on Facebook about this and a woman got in touch and finally got somone to email me back on the 27th (Monday) saying they would process my refund and today the 7th of may I still have not recived the refund I called last week on Friday the woman on the phone said 3-5 working days I said it had been 5 days! as it had been 5 days she said because it’s bank holiday it might go on the Tuesday? Tuesday comes and nothing again I messaged a woman who got in touch with me on Facebook about it and she got in touch and said it had been approved and waiting for accounts to send? Today comes Thursday7th of may and still nothing message the woman from Facebook and she has told me 10-14 working days!! Deffo feel like I have been scammed!!!

The booking was cancelled due to “health and safety reasons” on the day of arrival and I had to change locations meaning we could only stay until the Saturday instead of the Sunday and said I could not get a refund which was very disappointing. The place itself was great though I will say if it wasn’t for all the issues.

I liked that there was a hottube. Down side there was nothing in site or close by for kids to do. The shop (onsite) was empty.

If I could rate this company 0 stars I would. Do not use this company too book yourself a break you will be left disappointed on all counts. Unclean lodges, no keys left for lodges, terrible customer service.
Cancelled 24hr beforehand
Not at all impressed with this company and wouldn't use again!
Due to stay at applegrove park and had our booking cancelled on us 24hr before we were due to arrive due to 'health and safety reasons on site', i understand that unexpected problems sometimes crop up but after reading reviews on here the exact same happened to someone a month ago so would seem this is a regular thing!! As this was the day before good Friday we were unable to find alternative accommodation as everywhere was understandably already booked up. My 8 year old son had been looking forward to this trip for months and is now extremely upset and disappointed that we won't be going. I would not recommend using this company as there's a strong chance your trip will get cancelled last minute!

My daughter & her partner stopped on the woodland lodges on Valentine’s Day for the weekend.They arrived in the evening to a lodge without a hot tub it had no essentials like toilet paper,My daughter booked and paid for lodge with with a hot tub.The next morning she contacted staycation via email as they wasn’t answering any of her calls she was told by email she would get £50 back to her by the end of February but she still yet to receive this £50 and now we’re in the 3rd week of March,they are ignoring her emails and no one answers the phone when she calls,Very unhappy customer feel like my daughter has been scammed by this company!

Absolutely atrocious - booking cancelled with 3 days notice
Due to stay at applegrove country park, lodge acorn 12. Booked for our wedding anniversary months ago, paid in full. Email arrived on 17th march (booking was for 20th march) cancelling booking "due to health and safety issues" so no real explanation. They don't respond to any emails. When you call the contact number it says "no agent available" and hangs up. On the odd time you can get through, you get girls telling you they are "admin" or "call handlers" and that they can't help, the only way to speak with anyone is via email. Avoid this company like the plague. I have all of the emails, call logs and booking confirmations to back up everything I have said here.

Reason for booking was mainly hot tub, the first night it went really cold really quick but due to colder weather you expect a decline in heat. We left it for the night to heat back up in the morning still not hot it wasn’t even slightly warm. We checked we had set it correctly then rang the numbers on welcome pack none worked we went to the on sight pub to look for reception and got advised no reception we managed to get a number for help of the booking agent we used. Finally got through to a maintenance man who advised us the lodge we was staying at was a known issue with the hot tub and been broke for months he was busy and would try to get out to us but all we could do was fill it up with hot water but the hot water did not get hot enough also the heating would then stop due to all use going to filling hot tub up and the jets and lights did not even work. It took me a while to get any contact information for customer service to advise them of the situation I also managed to find stay cation reviews to which 5 months ago was a review about our lodge 17 not having a working hot tub and got told to do the same as us absolutely would not recommend we got offered a 50.00 goodwill gesture but theys still no fix to the hot tub other cabins were working it is a lovely site we have stopped before but never again after the bad experience the cabins are now getting worn down which is expected but in need of maintenance things broke things worn tv would not work and no WiFi either which wasn’t really an issue for us but still all theses things advertised as a luxury cabin should be what is advertised.

The mini complex was lovely , the main large lodge was beautiful we thoroughly enjoyed our stay , the only thing I can pull them up on was it's a bit slippery on the decking on the small lodge near the hot tub , my son hurt his back when he slipped , he didn't fall but twisted his back trying not to fall when he slipped , and the light fittings in main lodge had dust webs on , and a drain smell in one of the smaller lodges , but I would stay again it didn't spoil our stay
