OMG!! She couldn't have been any slower. Took forever to scan the person in front of me. Seriously slow motion. Packing up the customers grocery the same way. Someone should just watch her! So frustrating!
Totally Unacceptable
I was shopping at Stop&shop on December 31,2025 at Bartow Avenue in the Bronx.. I had three cases of glass:bottles of Saratoga Spring Water and other groceries I spent $186.00. I asked the Service Desk for help since I could not lift 3 cases into my car. They gave me no help. I then asked the manager near the exit door . She told me she had no one to help me with the cases. I was:parked right in front near pick up area. I had to:ask a stranger in lot to help me I am a senior citizen and disabled. Ihave very limited walking ability .:This is the first time I shopped in this store x I never had a store refuse me help. I always tip the workers that help me.
Stop&Shop, north andover, acuused me of walk away
I am a frequent shopper at the North Andover Stop & Shop. I was accused of not paying twice in the last 3 months. I had the receipt in the bag the first time, but forgot to pick it up the second time. In both cases, the manager, Rolando Mendez, was arrogant, obnoxious, condescending, and the least bit apologetic. All he said was " you are set. The second time, the bagger called me from across the parking lot to tell me that I had walked away. How can this happen? Racial profiling. Rolando grabbed my camera and won't give it back. I was thoroughly humiliated. Are there legal actions I can take to prevent this from happening again?

They have a new system where each item/bag has to be scanned. Having learned from experience, I always ask if they have scanned. They say yes, but inevitably I have to drag the stuff outside because they have not scanned them. Never again
Online delivery to wrong address, no refund after a week
Placed an order for delivery through Stop and Shop's app which was delivered to the wrong address. After arguing with 2 employees (including the manager) that yes, they do indeed offer delivery through their app the manager stated that it was my responsibility to contact thier outside delivery vendor to fix the issue. One he was convinced that it was in fact his responsibilty he made some phone calls resulting in me still having to handle the problem on my own. Stop and Shop's corporate offices confirmed the order went to the wrong address. 8 days later I'm still waiting for a refund. Absolute terrible company with horrible customer service that offeres no actual solution to the problem that they caused.

People now day should be supervising, young people, they are not paying attention.Please make better choices in hiring. The fact I went twice when I'm not feeling well is very discouraging.
Don't do it!
I had an order of over $400 worth of groceries with specific request of hand deliver to me only still be delivered to the wrong address and I was left with no groceries and the full amount charged to my bank account. I was told to wait 7 to 10 business days for the refund but make it make sense. I am now an instacart customer and would no longer trust stop and shop delivery with my future orders.

Don't trust their delivery service
In-store Stop & Shop is great, but their delivery service is nothing but a bait-and-switch scam. They wait until 2-3 hours after you can no longer cancel your order to tell you what they'll actually deliver and what's conveniently out-of-stock. But they still charge additional delivery fees based on what you ordered, not what they actually delivered.
Today I ordered $150 worth of groceries, and agreed to pay an additional $30 in delivery fees and a tip for the driver. Three hours after my order was "finalized" they informed me that they were only delivering $17 worth of groceries. But they still charged the full $30 in additional fees.
Last week I ordered chicken legs that were on sale, and a couple of bottles of soda. Hours after my order cut-off, they emailed to say that the sale items were out of stock. They delivered the soda, but still charged the full delivery fees and driver tip as if they had delivered fifty pounds of chicken.
Well, they got me for the last time. Their prices are great, better than the warehouse club for some items, but that only matters if you can actually get the items you order. Their order policies amount to nothing but a bait-and-switch scam, and I'm dome being scammed.

S&S, Winchester, MA. Went to the store on 7/27/25 around 6pm. Tried to get an order at the clod cuts counter. There was a kid in front of me who wanted some kind of cheap ham. The sales person barked at him that he can get it in the pre-cut cold cuts fridge and rudely directed him there. The kid then ordered 1/4 lbs cheap cheese. The sales person cut almost 1/2 lbs. Sales person barked "is this good?" and the kid, probably embarrassed, sad yes. Then the sales person told me that there was apparently another customer before me who was standing 30 feet from me at the seafood counter. The sales person was extremely rude to that customer (an elderly man just wanting to get a simple order). At that point I had it and left. Tried to go to the customer service counter to complain, bu there was no one there. I remember times when going to Stop & Shop used to be a pleasurable experience. Not any more. Not sure what exactly happened, but I'll try to skip S&S as much as I can until something is done to improve customer experience

S&S OK but need to fix some things...
I am generally OK with S&S as they are the closest grocery store to my home. But I want them to know that I don't buy their cooked whole chickens anymore because they are too small and not worth the price. And, while at it, their plastic containers that hold the olives and cheeses (PLU 727) are too thin so you can't even close them. So I won't buy that anymore either. I hope the execs read these reviews or at least get the info for feedback. Please go back to the old, larger chickens and please provide more robust olive/cheese containers and I will buy them again. Thanks.
Horrible experience
Horrible experience. For the second time in a row, they simply failed to prepare our online order. No explanation no apology. The manager is sleepy and the person who spoke to me about our order wore PJ bottoms and was the opposite of friendly. Only competent people were the guy in deli and the kid at self checkout who seemed to at least kinda get how pathetic this place is.

this is a normal procedure for them.

Don't Stop here to Shop
I have only been to ONE Stop and Shop that is run well and that's in Massapequa, NY. Unfortunately, I don't live near that one. I'm in Queens and the Stop and Shop in Howard Beach is the WORST! There is a lot of foot traffic at that store and there is NEVER any hand baskets by the door. You always have to search for them on the other side of the store. This is EVERY time I go in there.. Then they reduce the prices on THEIR brands while raising the price on competitors very high. I frequent multiple stores in the area and know that I can get the same competitor brands a lot cheaper. Which I do. I go to another store to get the brand I want at a reasonable price. Then there is the rotten produce and expired meats.. when I was in the store last week, I literally walked out when I saw that every single package of chicken was past the sell by date.. I never buy more that a few things in this store, and only when I'm stuck and don't have time to go anywhere else.. Oh, and don't bother sending your feedback in response to the "How are we Doing? headline printed on their receipts. I've tried. There's always a problem with the site when you hit "submit." It's Just like their store, Useless.. I predict this store will be out of business within 2 years. It is THAT bad..
Cashier Walks out when he felt like it
On 11/5/24 at the Top and Shop on 961 E. 174th Street in the Bronx, (Store #2593) there was only one register open at 7p.m. on aisle 11, with a cashier rudely telling people to "Go to self-checkout! I'm going home! I'm not taking you!" And no other register open until 8 p.m..meanwhile, self-checkout has limited service (you can't use OTC), a growing line and that cashier gets away with logging off 15 minutes before a new cashier sets up.
High prices and no service - avoid it!
Upper management has made a decision to charge very high prices often 50% or more higher than competitors, while often letting a long line of customers wait at the one register they allow to open, forcing most people to use self-checkout machines. High prices and little or no service is their business model. I avoid Stop and Shop like the plague and will drive out of my way to other markets with much, much better prices, many cashier lanes open and great service.
