I rate "StealTrust" as a…

I wish I could rate "StealTrust" as a negative five. I took my chances by switching to SunTrust due to only convenience, since my bank was now further away.....BIG MISTAKE!!!!
After only one week of opening a checking account and hadn't received my checking/debit card yet, I was out of town, went to a nearby branch to get some cash only to be told I couldn't make a withdrawal. I was not given a reason why, how, what I may have done to cause this, which is nothing. I was simply told to call the "customer service" number.

After waiting on hold, for more than 25 minutes and more than once, still no information. I was merely shoved to another department, another long hold time, another person with NO answers.

I continued to call daily and given the same "it's under investigation" or this situation is with our "back office".

I was given the Client Advisary, Gary Singletary, who also could give me NO Information. I went to the local branch, kept calling daily....still, no answers, no resolution and NO money.

I can't put dinner on the table, I'm close to being evicted, I'm accruing late fees on all financial, utility, car loan and other along with the anguish, insomnia and anxiety I have suffered.

I have been told 10 different things by 10 different people with SunTrust (StealTrust) still at no avail.

I'm not the only person that has this very similar experience. And if this irresponsible, no regard to what this has done to my life, well being, financial situation and now credit score each time I was told my funds are being returned, which has now been Five different dates, the funds, my funds, are being sent USPS!! No offense at all, however it should have been sent Priority Mail, Certified Mail, Fed Ex, something with delivery confirmation.

This bank is irresponsible, barbaric, no help to it's customers and completely heart wrenching.

check held for 2 weeks!

Just signed up with this bank. went to make my first deposit which was supposed to be made available the next day. well 2 business days went by, then they told me because of recent fraud activity from previous clients theyre holding my funds 2 weeks! 2 WEEKS! Imagine working hard to feed your family and you take your check to the bank and they hold YOUR money hostage for 2 weeks. Anyhow, once my funds clear i will be cashing out my account and taking my business elsewhere. Would not recommend this bank, its dated and unfair to its clients.

Utter lack of support and empathy for overseas account holders

I'v been a low maintenance and loyal SunTrust customer for over 12 years.
I'm British and live in the UK but need a trustworthy US bank to help run the finances of a small condo we own.
Three months ago SunTrust deactivated my online banking for not accessing the facility frequently enough!
I've had no particular need with income and expenditure running smoothly.
I have tried unsuccessfully for these last three months to get SunTrust to reactivate the online banking for me.
I've spent many hours of international phone call time giving the same story and personal details over and over. Only to be let down again and again.
I have no access to my account and funds despite repeated pleas for help.
Incompetent and uncaring would sum up my feelings.
I'm left frustrated, anxious and angry.
I am currently looking for an alternative bank to transfer to.
It will not be their newly formed Truist Bank merger!
Get a grip Suntrust!!

I'd just like to post a follow up to the above.
I eventually managed to contact a very helpful chap in their digital support over the weekend.
He was brilliant, and I'm now up and running.
Thank you Michael.
Such a shame it took three months for the other departments to put me through to the brains behind their IT!

Technical support? We ain't got no schtinkin' technical support!

Technical support? What technical support? After an interminable wait ( more than 30 minutes ) my call was connected to an individual in the Phillipines whose language skills were sadly limited. The particular individual I spoke with would not ( or did not know how to? ) escale my call to anyone with actual technical knowledge of their system, and could not figure out how to send a text message to verify my phone ( !!! )
This is *someone's* idea of technical support, I suppose, but certainly not mine.
My problem was a simple one, my explanation was extremely clear and straightforward, and I used very few words of more than one syllable, yet somehow the listening comprehension of this 'support' person was not up to the task.
If this is any hint of what we can expect from the down-sized and outsourced abortion that will prevail from February 2022 onward, we can only "vote with our feet" and send our business where it will be appreciated, as it clearly is *NOT* right now.

One star because can’t give it less. Terrible app on ipad. Terrible effort to link accounts. What a joke. Used BB&T for years. Signed in everyday day 30-45 seconds to do a quick visual check of 5 BB&T accounts plus 6 linked accounts which included looking at recent transactions on credit cards - one BB&T card and a Citibank card. Have spent hours in truist during its short life. Terrible job listing transactions for linked credit card. Paper statements are easier but wait - I pay that credit card every Saturday so can’t wait for a paper statement. Message alerts took a step back into the dark ages. in BB&T they were informative. In truist they must be intended to annoy as they give no useful information and require additional work from me. This is huge disappoint for me as my banking experience with BB&T and been great for years and years and truist has made me dread opening the app. Why would I trust these people with my $$. They have proven that they make bad decisions - take an app that people loved and make it worse. Brilliant.

I am visually impaired and hold three acts with BBT. Trying to navigate the data now when the screen shows up, is impossible .. For the first time ever,I have to change banks Truist not working for me

Unhappy

I've used the Sun Trust app for years and it always worked great. The Truist app sucks! It is clunky and often won't accept the amount of a check that I'm trying to deposit. Get it figured out Truist

App is THE worst.

Their app is hands down one of the worst experiences I have ever had. There's a 50/50 chance the app crashes whenever I start it. I've had to change my password multiple times. The app looks terrible, almost like something that was designed by a first-year coding student.

I'm not happy and am considering looking elsewhere.

The DEPOSIT feature of the mobile app needs WORK!

The mobile app needs WORK!! Some of checks will NOT DEPOSIT!! The app states the amount of the check is wrong (which it isn't!) - and not the same amount that I'm trying to deposit (they are the SAME) - and will NOT let me make the deposit! I've tried taking different pictures of the checks / closing out the app and re-starting - and still it won't let me make the deposit. IT NEEDS AN OVERRIDE!!! SunTrust mobile app finally installed one and it worked great. Please this sooo frustrating!! PLEASE FIX THIS! (before I withdraw my money and change banks)!

Using truist app sucks

Using truist app sucks. Can't make it work. Tried to talk to a human being. No such luck. Just the same message endlessly. Where are the human workers??? Or is it just one overworked receptionist trying to handle 5000 irate customers??

New Truist app is so bad

New Truist app is so bad. Ugly, slow, less information and features than before. I've been with suntrust almost 20 years and will be moving to a new bank unless they fix it. This merger has been a disaster. I feel bad for the older folks trying to use this Truist app. It literally burns my eyes to look at. Do better. I don't even write reviews so that should give you an idea how awful it is. Good job tanking your reputation if you even had one to begin with. I never even heard of Truist before I was forced into it. -100 stars.

No good app

Im writing this now because i cant use my truist app…. Again. Suntrust app was great. Any way to go back to it?? More often than not i get the flashing square of death on my screen. Plz fix!

The new Truist app and website are both…

The new Truist app and website are both terrible. BBT had a wonderful app and website and is largely why I continued to bank with them. The new app and website crash constantly, I have had multiple transfers of money just "disappear." The web design is difficult to navigate and the all purple color scheme is harsh on the eyes.

Wouldn't choose them but had no choice

Bought a new house and within a year I had three different mortgage service providers as it kept getting passed around. Currently with SunTrust now Truist. When they took over the mortgage they sent out a letter indicating no changes, etc. and we may not receive a bill the first month but would be billed the following month. Within days I got a debt collection letter from them - dated one month before the new due date that they indicated. Seems their different departments need to communicate.

New app sucks.

New app sucks.. the app itself has so many bugs, it keeps getting my account transactions mixed up with each other. Additionally, the app for bank accounts does not display the bank debits to show each transaction value against the balance.... instead it does it all in one day as a group. Remember elementary school lessons truist.... Show you math! 1.3 billion spent in technology and fire 800 people... seems like you spending alot of money to go the wrong direction. When I report the issue after sitting on hold for over an hour I was told to "be patient and bare with you"... ha.. like if I missed a payment on a card and told you to be patient we all know how that would go.. NO. Get it right now or we end our year business relationship.
