Taxjar customer service is incredibly low quality... they are not capable of resolving simple issues with your filing if any of the automation data is screwed up. Want to upload your own CSV data? Forget it. Good luck getting their system to accept your file. Even if you spoon feed incredibly simple information to them... they still cannot do it or even understand what you are trying to achieve. You might be better off using an accountant instead.
Automation aspect on my Squarespace website works fine though... but you're on your own once you collect all that tax.

I recently reached economic nexus in a state other than my own, and therefore have been having to go through the extensive process of automating sales tax. Everything is fine with the economic nexus state, however the sales tax in my home state is not being calculated correctly by taxjar. Every time I try to get a clear answer, I am met with incorrect information or information that isn't related to my issue at all. It's very frustrating, as I am spelling it out very clearly. People have left reviews noting taxjar's lack of phone support and it really is very frustrating. An issue that could be resolved over the phone in one call has taken multiple emails and weeks still with no resolution.

So my review is 2/5 on support and also 2/5 for sales tax automation.

Software is worthless with woocommerce. Plug-in doesnt work and will not collect tax.

Our account shows that returns were filed and sales tax paid every month, come to find out, that didn't happen. We were delinquent by over $10k to the state. Furthermore, you can't talk to anyone. No incoming or outgoing phone support. No chat. Support is nonexistent. Seriously considering filing a lawsuit against them for not doing what they have been charging us each month to do. I can't stress enough to business owners to stay away from this company!

TaxJar significantly mislead me during the subscription process followed by unbelievably bad customer service when trying to resolve the issues. Recognizing that I had been misled they agreed to a refund which was reversed over a year later. I have never used its services. I am now a part of a large e-commerce website development group which spans several countries and have discovered though that association that so many before me have had terrible experiences with TaxJar. I wish that I had known about how bad TaxJar was before I made the mistake of trying to do business with them.

I was incorrectly charged a fee by this company after 1000s of duplicate transactions were entered into their system and were removed by their Agents. Even after they were removed and they acknowledged that these were duplicates, they still charged me a $30 "flex" fee. This is not right and illegal.

There is no way to contact them by phone when they overpay on you taxes. Email was send daily to resolve the issue. They offered no response after a few weeks I canceled my subscription. 6 months later still trying to resolve the problems they caused.

This is an incredibly pricy program for those who do a certain level of business, like I do, and the customer service is ABYSMAL! They have deleted all phone numbers from their website, and there is no chat feature. You must email for support, but their support reps take 2 days to respond on average. What makes it worse is that their reps are obviously overseas and don’t work during US business hours. Every single support email response I have had comes in between 12:30am and 3:30am! This means that by the time I get the email when I’m at work at 8am and respond to their queries to help problem solve, they are now gone for the day and I don’t get another response for 2-3 days, again in the wee hours of the morning. This results in it taking a couple weeks to resolve an issue from all the back and forth. It’s crazy. This is an absolutely terrible way to run customer support for something as important as a business tax program! Am actively looking for another solution.

I liked people who were being honest in answering my question. One of their customer support shared their real answer on why dropshipping is a complicated scenario if using Taxjar for tax automation matters. Although it seems like I am not suitable to use their app, I would still thanks them for their attitude.

I hope you will gain more sales and more customers will come to Taxjar.

AWFUL. No customer support for days and that is the only way to access your tax filing documents apparently. Horrible service run far far away!

Unfortunately, TaxJar is producing inconsistent and incorrect tax calculations. What’s worse is there is no support available. Emails to support (the only way to contact TaxJar) remained unresolved for weeks and I got the occasional “we are looking into your matter” email, but there was never any useful help. Emails to support are not read by a human, instead a bot replies with references to articles. Overall my experience was very disappointing and I could not recommend TaxJar to anyone.
