Established in 1979, TCG London stems from a long-running history of shops based in Central London. For over 40 years, this family run business - founded by Sumer Chand Gupta - has been successfully maintained and grown by his three sons. In 1980, ‘Supreme’, our very first shop, opened in Carnaby Street. Due to its success, this was followed by another shop of the same name in 1982. Here, we began retailing in Pringle of Scotland – the world-famous luxury knitwear brand that was founded in 1815. Soon after, in 1986, another branch by the name of ‘Estridge’ opened on Regent Street. Here, although our main focus was still Pringle of Scotland, we were approached by Burberry, Lyle and Scott, Ballantyne and Johnstons of Elgin to complement our existing merchandise. By 1990, we became one of the largest retailers of Pringle of Scotland in the United Kingdom. As a result of high demand, the business was expanded to open two further branches; one on Regent Street and another on Brompton Road – a 2-minute walk from the world renowned ‘Harrods’ department store. These were named ‘The Cashmere Gallery’. After 34 years in retail, it was decided that ‘The Cashmere Gallery’ was to be taken a step further into the creation of a more contemporary style, whilst still maintaining the classic look that works alongside all fashion trends. Thus, ‘TCG London’ was created in 2013, where the business not only expanded into Covent Garden, but began retailing online. Although cashmere knitwear was still sold, there was a much higher emphasis on the importance of accessories to suit all weathers such as: cashmere scarves, lambswool scarves, silk scarves, pashminas, gloves, hats, capes and much more. Since then, due to its online success, TCG London now retails exclusively on www.tcglondon.com. TCG London has successfully been able to offer styles and accessories suited to all age groups and for all occasions.
