a lack of attention to cleanliness, customer service, food quality. safety and general standards.
On entering the venue, my immediate impression was that the music was excessively loud, particularly given the time of day. I asked for the volume to be reduced, and to their credit, this was done immediately.
However, there were several other issues that significantly affected my experience.
The floor in the bar area was noticeably sticky. Given how early it was in the morning, this gave the impression that the area had not been cleaned properly following the previous evening. This was particularly disappointing and did not create a good first impression.
When I approached the bar, there were two members of staff present who appeared to be engaged in conversation with one another. Despite being clearly visible and standing at the bar, I was not acknowledged until I spoke to them myself. When I attempted to place my order, one member of staff refused to serve me, explaining that the particular side of the bar was apparently for food orders only, despite it being 11am. This was unnecessarily confusing and did not feel particularly welcoming or customer-focused.
I was also concerned by the gate next to the soft play area, which remained open. Children appeared to be able to enter and exit the area relatively freely, provided they were wearing a wristband. From a safeguarding and safety perspective, I found this concerning. In a venue specifically catering for children, I would expect greater control over access and exit from the soft play area.
Unfortunately, the food was equally disappointing. The quality was poor, and approximately half of the children in our group did not eat their food. For a venue aimed at families and children, I would expect considerably better standards when it comes to the quality and presentation of the food.
There was also a basic lack of attention to detail with the drinks. The squash in the jug had clearly not been mixed properly — the top was essentially water while the squash had settled at the bottom. No stirrer was provided with the jug, meaning we were left to try to resolve this ourselves.
Overall, the experience gave me the impression that there was a lack of attention to cleanliness, customer service, food quality, safety and general standards. While I appreciate that individual issues can occur, there were simply too many shortcomings during one visit to overlook.
Unfortunately, based on this experience, I would not be in any rush to return.

Staff unbelievably slow
Staff unbelievably slow. 5 members of staff stood behind the bar chatting whilst one person served a queue of people. Queued nearly 30 mins for a drink despite there being only two customers before me.

I booked for a family evening out with…
I booked for a family evening out with my 5 adult children 6 year old and grandson. We also had a baby with us. When we arrived we were told our booking was on 2 lanes. We arrived at the lanes to find dirty food plates and empty glasses on the tables. The tables still had food upon them. I had to clear this myself. We were split upon 2 lanes and had plastic partition between so couldn't communication which felt very awkward when wanting to spend quality time together. After playing our game we went to order some food at the bar. We had to clear a table off as they were still all left with dirty plates and glass upon. This is the first time I have visit Tenpin Gloucester in a few years, and this experience has really put me off returning anytime soon. The toilets were even worse, as 2 of them were blocked. From a place that is meant to be for families the hygiene is very poor.

Dirty seating area and drinks did not arrive
Booked game and drinks online for first time for drinks so unsure how it worked in Gloucester. We guessed soon as we checked in they would bring them to the lane. Half way thru second game still nothing so went up to reception. After few minutes flapping around they grabbed our drinks and that was it. Some one said yeah there spose to bring them to the lane.
Got to lane and seating area was covered in trays and dirty bottles and plates everywhere. Crisp all over the floor also. We carried on with game as have a disabled child and just wanted to get playing.

Lack of management on the bowling lanes…
Lack of management on the bowling lanes meant that our session was not as good as it could have been. Some people were running up and down Infront the lanes, others were standing across the lanes basically inconsiderate. While bowling is good value the food and drinks are overpriced. Food quality 5 out of 10. Service from bar staff excellent despite being abused by other customers they kept their cool and politeness.

The game was good. But the staff we very irresponsible. Don't order food or drinks inside. will not recommend to anyone.

We have great fun for Son's bday
We have great fun for Son's bday. Really reasonable price before 6pm and the arcade games were not overpriced so we had lots of fun on those too. Pizza was ok for the price. Staff friendly.

Very poor service as was short staffed
Very poor service as was short staffed. Game wasn't set up correctly so pushed the service call button. No one came after 10 mins. In the end ran out of time and couldn't finish our game. Payed £40 for 2 adults and 3 kids to play one game of bowling and only did 9 legs. Very poor

Covid was years ago.
Staff were great. Drinks were expensive. Covid shield between lanes made for less of a social experience between our family.

Bowling was great fun and easy to get…
Bowling was great fun and easy to get set up . Pizza was overcooked. Not much cheese on chips either part from that staff and facilities are good my kids had fun .

We had a lovely afternoon with the Grandkids
We had a lovely afternoon we arrived early and the receptionist offered us an earlier slot as they did have availability. Lots of fun and laughter. Staff were very busy and efficient. After the boys played on some of the games, they love the pool tables and one of the scarry rides. As always a little gamble they handed in their tokens and got a boiled fruit lolly that pleased them! Booking was easy as was booking in. Easy to park and if we had wanted to eat there looked like a great selection.
