Lovely date spot

My partner always takes me here to celebrate special occasions. Our first date was here almost 5 years ago. Never disappointed in food and staff are always welcoming.

A big thank you to Nicola

I would like to thank Nicola for her help this afternoon, I was looking for a quiet area in the premises, to listen to a very important video call.

I asked Nicola if there was a quieter place in the premises I could use, Nicola went out of here way to clear a space in the rear restaurant and removed the background music, so i was able to listen to my call.

Nicola is a credit to your business.

Great Family Weekend at The Bell.

Spent a great weekend at The Bell for our annual family get together.
The staff worked so hard to ensure we were looked after for every minute of our stay. Whether in the bar, restaurant or across the road in the hotel, nothing was too much for them to cope with our party of 12.
Had a great evening meal in the restaurant followed by a sumptuous breakfast the next morning.
The Bell is a great place to stay and to eat and is well positioned in the middle of Woburn village close to lots of local attractions.

Sunday lunch visit

Went for Sunday lunch and it didn’t disappoint, can recommend the pork belly! Great service from Heather, very attentive, nothing was too much bother.

Terrible Sunday Lunch

Waited for 45 minutes for Sunday lunch. I am sure the slow roasted belly pork hadn’t been near the oven! It was pale, tough and had no flavour whatsoever. Absolutely awful! I will not return again.

Lovely pub and friendly staff.

The Bell is one of our favourite places to eat out. All the staff are friendly and the food is always good quality. We went in today for a meal, our waitress was Liz, she was friendly, approachable and served us in a timely manner., she is a great member of your team.

Unacceptable Temperature

We visited the Bell at Belbroughton on the 11th March for my parents Golden Wedding anniversary. We were a party of 12 and received a good standard of service and the food was also of a reasonable standard, however the temperature in the restaurant was not of an acceptable standard and was extremely cold. We were provided with a mini heater, which did not manage to give enough heat to provide a comfortable temperature for our party and my mother sat with her coat on for most of the meal.
When leaving the restaurant we noticed that there were several mini heaters in the restaurant area and presumed that this may have been in a bid to save money on heating. I contacted the restaurant the following day and received the following response:

Good Afternoon,

I can assure you it is not the case that it was a money saving objective. We are having an issue with our boiler at the minute and awaiting an engineer, which meant that we could not hold a temperature in the building. For this reason we purchased extra logs and coal, along with electric heaters, in order to heat up the restaurant. I appreciate that it was not as warm as we would have liked, but we tried our best to warm it up, the problem being size of the building. Nonetheless, I am glad that you enjoyed your meal and I hope this does not deter you from joining us in the future.

No apology, or explanation as to why we were not informed when we we arrived at the restaurant that there was no heating in the restaurant. The temperature that evening was below zero degrees and nobody asked if we were warm enough or noticed that my mother had her coat on for the whole time we were there.

So unfortunately this unempathetic response would deter me from returning to or recommening the restaurant

As a family of 8 coming from everywhere…

As a family of 8 coming from everywhere some travelling 3 hours away, we were so excited to meet up. Table was booked and when we arrived we were greeted and seated friendly. Staff were polite even if they were rushed.
But the food was a little let down, 4 had Sunday Roasts .. and if it wasn't for the Yorkshire pudding the plate would have been empty. 2 slices of meat, sparsely sprinkle of vegetable and a dribble of gravy, but we did get 3 little parsnips...
Sea Bass was excellent, Burger was okish, and sides were tasty. So food OK but not enough when your paying £20-£25 for a roast. On top of that they add 10% service charge, an absolute cheek if you ask me... won't be going again.

Birthday celebration meal

We held a surprise 50th wedding anniversary here in April under the disguise of going out for a meal at The Bell. The happy couple enjoyed it so much we thought we’d give them the actual meal experience! (For a 75th birthday) The food was delicious from a varied menu and we were made very welcome by Lauren who guided us through menu items and gave excellent attentive service. Highly recommended. Thank you!

Not very good

Went to bell at belbroughton yesterday very disappointed with the food and went to pay with a voucher to be told not a vintage inn anymore . The staff were lovely but food not good and expensive for what you get

I am very saddened to write this review…

I am very saddened to write this review as I have been a regular to the Bell for many years, and have always had a positive experience till I went yesterday evening.
When the corona virus closed down the whole country I couldn’t wait to get back to eating out and when we were allowed out again one of the first places I visited was the Bell. I was impressed with their social distancing measures and felt so safe being there.
Yesterday was an awful experience when showed to our table I was shocked at how close the tables had become and even asked the waitress if this was right, she answered one and a half metres with you back to back with the other table. When seated it was not hard to tell how close you were once you were seated I then watched the guy on the next table spend his whole meal turned sideways in his chair so it was no longer back to back. Even worst he spent the whole evening coughing and I have never felt so unsafe.
I am upset to say that I will not be returning to the Bell again till a vaccine has been brought out and I can feel safe there. Shame they have gone from being careful to trying to get as many tables in that they can. A real shame.
The week before I had visited the Miller and Carter and felt very safe there so think I will go there in the future.

Beautiful pub , excellent service & delicious food

Beautiful pub , very clean, exceptionally well maintained and especially during the current situation with COVID 19 policy. Very tasty food, excellent table service throughout, staff are all very friendly and a credit to Mitchells & Butlers. Good choice of drinks. Would definitely recommend and will be visiting again soon. Special thanks to the two staff who looked after our table, SJ & Alyx, thank you, you made my visit very enjoyable.

Needs new Manager

The pub has good character but the Manager is very wet behind the ears and lacking basic skills to run a pub/bar/restaurant. I hope in future it has a change of management and then I'll return.
