MacBook Air battery

MacBook Air, late 2010. Battery not holding charge, status: 'service battery'. Took to Genius Bar, was told the battery needed to be replaced but they do not replace batteries in this model as it's too old. Looked around online, found Thebookyard stocked replacement batteries and ordered one. Swapping out the old one was relatively simple and so far the battery is performing very well.

Ordered a brand-new rear processortray…

Ordered a brand-new rear processortray fan for my mid 2012 Mac Pro. Thebookyard delivered it cross-border with the speed of light.
Even when I had doubts about a possible wrong ordered item, they kept the order on hold until I was really sure about the ordered item after consulting Thebookyard.

Great service!

Great service from these guys.

Having only popped-in to buy a few parts, one of their engineers ran some diagnostics to confirm a problem I was having, swapped a broken keycap for me, and talked me through the process of fitting what I’d bought - at no charge!

Everything working a treat now, with the refurbished parts I bought being “as new”, to the best that I can tell.

If you’re local, and need Mac repairs/spares, it’s well worth popping-in - even if just to see their (rather impressive!) collection of vintage Macs.

Recommended.

My 2009 Mackbook Pro had seen better…

My 2009 Mackbook Pro had seen better days frankly. The battery was hardly holding charge and the track pad had recently broken. I found Thebookyard on Google called and spoke to Gillian there who was very helpful and reassuringly knowledgeable about my machine. Gillian diagnosed why my trackpad had broken due to the battery swelling gave me some options and prices. I immediately knew I would be doing business with them. I live quite near to Speke so it was easy for me to take it to them which I was happy to do as I'm a bit nosy where my stuff goes to for repairs. I met Gillian when I dropped my Mac she booked my repair in. They have functional smart premises near Liverpool airport. Its great to see their Mac collection on display I think they must have all models so worth visiting just to see them. The next day I received an email from Aaron the engineer assigned to my repair. He detailed the faults and the options. They all were reasonable so I went ahead with all the suggestions and the next day he emailed me to say I could collect. I'm in a sales role myself so customer satisfaction is very important to me, and that's why its easy for me to say these guys have a great attitude to their customers. They have done a really good job for me and I'm so glad I found them. Highly recommended!

Ordered a new product

I ordered a new (not used) hd cable for my Mac. The seal on the anti-static bag it arrived in was broken, apparently to put on some tape and a shiny (and damaged) 'varanty void if removed' sticker which also said thebookyard on it. In my opinion, it's not new anymore if the seal is broken, and I don't understand why they would feel the need to tape the two wires together and add that shiny warranty-sticker on it.
I don't know if it's working or not since I ordered the wrong cable (which is my fault. Shame on me, not them)

I sent them a mail about the issue, and they assured me that it was new and that it was covered with a three month warranty.

I'm sorry you feel that way. We stand by our quality assurance on our products, which is why we offer a 3-month warranty on our parts.
The part came straight from a new supplier, and from inspecting the part, you can see that it hadn't even been creased in the way it has to be in order to be fitted around the optical drive within the top case.
The tape you found on the part was there from manufacturing to ensure the cable doesn't get damaged in the bag, as well as the new 3M tape to adhere it to the top case.
The only reason we open the anti-static bag is to warranty the part (so we can confirm the product is ours if a warranty needs to be raised)
If you have problems with a part or an order, we will always do what we can to help. We take our customer service and experience very seriously.
It would prove helpful if you can confirm the reason for a 3-star review if the part hasn't been tested so we can help

Key cap for my Apple MacBook

Ordered a key cap for my Apple MacBook Gold, which arrived within 3 days from ordering. Fantastic quality product which I fitted with 2 seconds.
Many thanks for the service as it was a battle ordering and getting the key repaired by Apple for mere cost of approx. GBP 6 (which included delivery)

I regularly buy equipment from the Bookyard and have never found them to be anything but bend-over-backwards helpful courteous and professional. Their knowledge of the Apple Macintosh world is second only to Apple themselves, and frankly, given many people's experience of Apple customer support, I'd suggest that they're actually better than Apple! If you have an out of warranty Mac, I couldn't recommend anyone more highly for repairs etc than the Bookyard.

Firstly, all our keys are Apple original as they come from recycled computers.
Secondly, there are various types of keycap types for each model and it is more than likely that you have selected the wrong one. It isn't easy to identify which type you have, but we have made the process as straight forward as possible by putting photos on our site and we are always available to help if you send us a photo of your keys. You have to click on the type you have before being able to order a specific key, so the selection was more than likely the wrong one at that time.
Please write back so we can get you the key that you need.

Very helpful, knowledgeable staff, and reasonable prices

I needed to pick up a few obscure spare parts for an old MacBook Pro. I couldn't find the right bits on the site (as I didn't know what to call them). But an email to them was quickly answered with the exact information I needed, and links to the parts.

They stock new and recycled parts, so I was able to save some money by getting used parts. The order was shipped promptly, and with tracking information so I knew exactly when to expect delivery.

Having had fairly sketchy experiences with other similar companies, it was great to find one as helpful and trustworthy.

Amazing service spare provider!

They offer amazing customer service advice over the phone and via email, both before i ordered the parts and afterwards. The technical knowhow and experience they have is very impressive, even dating back to my original G3 machines. They have a serial number decoder that tells me exactly what machine i have and offers a link to the compatible parts for my generation. All in all an amazing experience and great parts.
A pleasure to deal with!

Fantastisk hurtig Service

Thebookyard sælger med reservedele til apple produkter...
Det er til folk der er af do-it-yourself typen.
De har base i Manchester UK.
Nå men jeg bestilte en vare d.11/2-09 kl 12 dansk tid
og modtod den med UPS dagen efter kl 12... 24 timer fra hylde til mit hjem.. det er super lækkert..
Prisen på fragten var 153 kr. så det er overkommeligt da ders priser gennerelt er billigere end lignende sider.
