Disappointing quality, shirts run very small, no customer service.

I ordered two ties and three shirts. The shirts were ordered in my normal size. The ties were remarkably poor quality. The material was very thin. The shirts were all very small. They fit at the neck but not at my midsection. One shirt's sleeves were short. I went back to the site to do a return and discovered that only one shirt was returnable. The others were on final sale. If this was communicated at the time of purchase, I missed it. I sent an email and immediately received a response that my email was received and someone would get back to me in two days. Didn't happen.

Terrible Awful Service

I shouldn’t have to give 1 star just to write a review….anyway…..I ordered a tie for homecoming on Sept 1st in which I got notified that it was an hour and half from my home on Sept 7th. Guess what still no *^%#ing tie! Never ever again will I order from this company! Ever!!!!

This is the worst experience I have…

This is the worst experience I have ever had buying a tie! I ordered ties for my son's wedding which shipped immediately and then sat in some warehouse for 6 weeks. Tie Bar does not answer their phones and is slow to respond to emails. I was sure the ties were lost and asked them repeatedly to cancel the order and refund my money. Lo and behold, 2 weeks after the wedding the ties appeared in my mailbox. Of course, they were worthless to me at that point. I sent the ties back to them without opening the package but have not had my money refunded. I will NEVER order from this company again.

Does their shipping company use horse and carriage?

EDIT: I ended up returning the ties. They are still slowly inching their way across the US through Pitney Bowes, and have still not arrived after a week. And, CAVEAT EMPTOR, should you decide to return your products, there’s a sneaky $5.99 shipping and handling fee they deduct from your refund. It’s buried down on the returns FAQ, and you are not notified ahead of your purchase. It’s just sneaky, and there’s no way in hell their shipping charges are $5.99 for a package that weighs less than one pound, through a shipping company that’s glacially slow. For these reasons, I’m down-rating my original three stars to one star.

Original review follows:

The quality of the ties themselves are just okay. For the price, they aren't bad, but even though they are 100% silk, the feel and drape just aren't there compared to even Jos. A Bank's executive/reserve collection ties (many of which can be found in the $20-25 price range, especially during sales). The Tie Bar's ties feel a little stiff and thick.

I spent the $50 to get the free shipping, and let's just say that if you need anything fast, I would just pay for the shipping. In order to artificially inflate their shipping times (to entice you to pay for standard USPS), they use the absolute slowest shipping company on the face of the planet. It took almost a full week for Pitney Bowes to get my package from Kentucky to NJ, and then another two days just to lob it across the Delaware River from southern NJ to Philadelphia.

Overall, I would not recommend The Tie Bar and do not think I will be purchasing from them again.

Do not buy anything from them! I ordered products almost a month ago and have not received them. I have reached out on several platforms asking for a refund and haven’t heard back from them. As another reviewer stated they are robbing people. Take your money and support another company!

FAILURE TO COMMUNICATE & FAILURE TO DELIVER

I ordered a tie for my wedding with expedited two day shipping. Received a confirmation email from the company that the tie had shipped four days ago, but it was never received by UPS and it’s not in the UPS tracking system. I can’t get anyone on the phone and they direct me to email them. Emailed several hours ago with the subject line “EMERGENCY” and still haven’t received a reply. The wedding is tomorrow. 1 star for failure to deliver and failure to communicate.

I ordered ties and pocket squares from…

UPDATED INFORMATION...

So to present a fair review I am modifying my original Trustpilot review of events AFTER I posted my first review.

My original experience is this part:

I ordered ties and pocket squares from the Tie Bar. After about a month I still hadn't gotten them. They sent me a Whistl tracking number that was either fake or broken... either way it wasn't telling me where my order is. So I emailed them. Kenxxxx responded but wasn't helpful... at all! I emailed again asked for a working tracking number... he/she sent me a second tracking number with the caveat that their system was down so this second number was in effect also useless. I called their phone number... The message directed me to send them an email. 🙄🙄🙄. REALLY?! I sent them a message on Instagram... no response.

This is where I have to update the story.

A couple of days after emailing them on IG, Sofxx got a hold of me and took charge of the situation. She got me a replacement order because even the shipper didn't know where it was... and I still haven't gotten it. She refunded my money and made sure that I had my order in hand before my trip!

To properly rate my experience with them I have to divide it into 2 parts... my initial interaction and then the follow up.

My initial experience after the purchase was TERRIBLE... and I don't know if Kenxxxxx is just new or doesn't care about what she/he is doing or if their training program doesn't allow for front line employees to solve problems... I don't know what the breakdown was. I rate that a zero.

The second part of my experience was FANTASTIC!!! Sofxx was easy to connect with... she was attentive, took initiative, was helpful and did an amazing job fixing the problem. But she is a manager. And yes... I know there are much bigger problems in the world than wardrobe malfunctions... but I needed this stuff and she got it to me before I flew out! So for that... Sofxx... Thank you! Sincerely!

So why am I not rating it a 5/5?

I am concerned that the tracking systems they are using (Whistl) are still not working. I don't know this for certain but even after Sofxx took over and sent me new tracking numbers they were still broken. I had to rely on emails from UPS to know where my order was. I let her know and sent her screenshots.

Do I have confidence that this situation would not be repeated? No. And if it is a training problem with their employees... I don't know if that has been addressed.

The quality of products is good for the…

The quality of products is good for the price especially on sale, but their shipping services are deceiving. They don't have estimates listed when you checkout. My gripe is that "Priority" is NOT USPS Priority, but First Class. Very disappointed as I expected 2-3 days shipping for this option from their KY warehouse. You have to pay double what it would cost for Priority Mail if you shipped yourself as well. Ties are not heavy or fragile. Why the price hike for shipping?

Solid product, failure to reimburse return per policy or communicate about failure to reimburse

I've happily bought many products from them over the years and am really sad to write this review. However, after returning more than $100 of products over a month ago per instructions, they have not refunded me as promised, have failed to reply to three emails requesting status spread across several weeks, and have not answered the phone after five calls spread across one week. This is beyond unprofessional, and seems to be more or less theft. Perhaps their business is struggling - this is the wrong way to try to fix it. I wouldn't purchase from them if you expect online returns to be an option.

Great product, poor service

Great product, but DO NOT BUY if you want your order to arrive promptly. Took me over a month to receive items. Customer service were unhelpful and told me just to wait.

The save day!

The save day!! My son last minute shopping for prom, we made a mistake when placing the order, when we called and explain our mistake they were great about accommodating our needs, extremely friendly, very knowledgeable of their products. They work promptly to get our order on time! And for my son to have a complete tux! Kudos to all the personal at The Tie Bar! (Needless to say the items… great quality.)

Poor products

Amongst other things, I ordered three lapel flowers which were all in a unacceptable condition. One was bent out of shape and the threads in the other two were unraveling.
That was the first and last time, I will use that site.
