I’ve been an electrician for over 10…
I’ve been an electrician for over 10 years now, i’ve used quite a few certification softwares and honestly think Tradecert has got the potential to be that ultimate platform we’ve all been searching for. Everything is intuitive and easy to use and the tech support is great. What i would like to see in the future is a computer soft where i can store all my certs locally, and generally more attention to working offline as most of the times we don’t get internet or even phone coverage in plant rooms and risers, but i’m sure that’s being worked on already. Overall great platform 👍

Tradecert is great, and has been pivotal for our company. We were previously using iCertifi, which we found to be clunky, and not easy to operate with numerous electricians. Great software, great customer service
I’ve been using Tradecert for quite a while now for a company I work with and I’m so impressed that I’ve recently started my own subscription.
The app is really easy to use and navigate which makes a huge difference when you are busy. One of the best parts is the AI feature for uploading distribution boards. It is a total game changer and saves me so much time on site. It honestly takes all the stress out of getting the paperwork done and issued.
The team behind it is also fantastic. Their customer service is second to none and they have a dedicated WhatsApp where they are always ready to help. The responses are incredibly quick so you are never left waiting around. If you want to make your life easier I can’t recommend them enough.

Actually getting certs done!
I have been using Tradecert since October 2025 and it really has been a game changer.
The NIC software is sluggish and the new update has added more friction than I care to deal with.
I've tried several different softwares over the years, which have been more tolerable, but ultimately is boils down to this; writing up certs is tedious.
Tradecert caught my eye with a recent project. We had 5x 3phase boards being replaced with various other testing being carried out. Weeks of long days and even later nights, with of course the certs being required ASAP. Meaning even later nights inputting results and ticking boxes.
The AI import is a game changer!
Photo not great? This seems to just figure it out. I think I've only seen a few errors with Fusebox TPN boards but otherwise, the import function is fantastic. It makes intelligent choices and saves a ridiculous amount of time.
It's hard to speculate exactly how much time it's saved, since every EIC or EICR can vary wildly in the amount of time it will take but here's a rough outline from some recent works I've done.
Anecdotally, if a cert took me an hour before. It's anywhere from 10-20minutes depending now. That's if I'm sitting down with a sheet of paper and manually doing things.
If that sheet has been filled out on a form? It's basically instant. No double handing the information. AI import - double check and get on with life. Or, picture of the board/previous cert. Complete whilst test - done.
Lets say I took 2 hours a week on certs and now they take me 40minutes per week. Scale that over 52weeks for the year and you've saved 4,160minutes, or ~70hrs a year. 3 days saved.
That's just some rough napkin maths and it depends largely on what comes in... but it adds up. That's time saved do literally ANYTHING else. And this is before we start uses other features of the app.
On the October job, I ran into an problem with the import feature struggling with 3 phase boards and the numbering. I messaged the online help at around 10pm (yep, night time) and within about 5 minutes someone called me to help troubleshoot the issue. Acknowledged it was a known issue at the time with how the boards are labelled and how the AI figures out what to pull in. Then helped me get around it. This seems to have since been fixed but it really was next level to get a call back that quick, that late at night.
Same again recently - had an issue. Used the online help and someone was dealing with my issue more or less instantly.
I really can not praise the software and service enough. I've put colleagues onto it and they all been equally impressed.

This is an unbelievable review. Honestly, thank you for taking the time to break it down like this.
You’ve summed up the real problem perfectly, writing up electrical certificates is tedious, especially after long days on site when the certs still need issuing ASAP. Tradecert was built to remove that double handling and friction, so hearing the AI import is turning one hour jobs into 10 to 20 minutes makes all the work behind the scenes worth it.
The time breakdown you’ve shared is powerful as well. When you zoom out and realise that electrical certification software can realistically save 60 to 70 hours a year, that’s days of your life back. That’s exactly what the AI upload for distribution boards and previous certificates is meant to do, cut the admin without compromising accuracy.
Really appreciate you mentioning the 3 phase board issue as well. No software is perfect, especially when dealing with the way some TPN boards are labelled, but we’ll always acknowledge issues and work on them properly. And if someone’s stuck at 10pm trying to get certs finished, we know how important it is to respond quickly.

Really impressed with Tradecert. The software is very user-friendly and you can tell a lot of thought has gone into making it fast and easy to use on site.
The certificate presets feature is excellent I love you can customise your own for your company and save a lot of time. Being able to select a site and clearly see all related information and certificates makes everything simple to manage.
The AI features are a real game changer. Certification is much less painful now and significantly quicker.
Customer support is also top-notch. The Tradecert team reply within minutes on Facebook Messenger, which is brilliant.
Highly recommend.

Totally raised the bar, no other test software comes close!
I’ve been using Tradecert now for around 3 months after making the switch from Electraform. Initially, I wasn’t planning on making the switch, but I thought I’d try it out after hearing all the great reviews. Initially I had no plans to change my software, as Electraform was a great software for me and I had no complaints whatsoever.
A few months passed and I finally had some time to have a play around with the software. And wow, I was really blown away, I signed up there and then and haven’t looked back.
The layout is slick, everything is well thought out and it really makes filling out test certs such a breeze.
The apps work great on iOS, I mainly use on my iPad Pro with a keyboard and it’s so nice to use! I’ve also got the app installed on my phone, which is equally as good. I find myself filling out the bulk on my iPad, but also get the cert up on my iPhone at same time to input certain test results and everything stays in sync.
I love how the circuit schedule and test results are laid out in a table format, they’ve made it incredibly easy to input circuit details FAST. Reordering, renumbering, ‘N/A or N/Ving’ in bulk, I can honestly say they have thought of pretty much everything with this software.
And that’s just the start..
The AI functionality is amazing, this saves me so much time and they’ve done it spot on. I know I am not using the AI features to there full potential too, but the more I use the software I can see this saving me so much more time.
The notes section, brilliant! From what I gather, I can make any general notes whilst on site which won’t appear on the form. But, the Ai feature can analyse this notepad, then make suggestions for all the form fields, based on the notes in the notepad. Mind blown a bit here! Amazing!
Also, they’ve made it so easy to add photos to the appendix, which is super helpful. The way these are added to the end of the test cert / report is brilliant, and will be very good for documenting certain things in the job for the customer to be able to clearly read.
I’m honestly blown away a bit with this software, it’s really raised the bar from all other competitors in my opinion and I can see myself using the software for many years to come.
Also excited to see what any new updates bring, I wouldn’t know how the software can be improved anymore, but the developers seem to be very active in the community and are actively looking for feedback and ways to improve. The thing is though, they listen to feedback, and implement it quickly!

Making the switch from Electraform is not a small decision, especially when something is already working well for you, so hearing that Tradecert genuinely blew you away after giving it a proper try is massive for us.
It is great to hear how you are using it across iPad Pro and iPhone with everything staying in sync. That multi device cloud setup is a big part of what makes Tradecert such a practical electrical certificate app for day to day testing. Being able to input results quickly, reorder and renumber circuits, bulk N A or N V entries, and move through test certificates without friction is exactly how electrical certification software should feel.
Really glad you highlighted the AI features as well. The AI uploads, AI notes analysis and smart suggestions are designed to save serious time on EICRs and certificates, especially when referencing boards and turning site notes into properly worded observations. When it clicks, it really does change how fast paperwork can be completed.
The photo appendix and clear layout are also things that matter more than people realise, especially when you want customers to properly understand what they are looking at in a report.
