Poor customer service
We ordered a few packs of laminate flooring and it was all bent, so we contacted the store and found it difficult to get a refund. We did get our money back but you could tell they didn’t want to refund it. Some of the staff there are not helpful at all. We’ve had many carpets and laminate from there over the years without any problems, so we were surprised to find the flooring wasn’t right. A couple off days after we got a refund we received a call from the manager saying there were 4 planks missing from a pack and they needed them back of they couldn’t claim for them. They had been cut by the fitter but we still had them. In our opinion he was trying to be awkward about it and he asked for them to be left outside our property and he would collect them! He never did collect them. We’ll never deal with United Carpets & Beds again, absolutely awful customer care. It’s a shame, they used to have lovely staff there too.

The carpet was good price
The carpet was good price, good quality measured correctly carpet fitters were fantastic, but the shop wrote my telephone number down so I never got notification of fitting time also got told I needed new grippers when I didn’t carpet fitter said we’re fine as I couldn’t remove some and then got told I couldn’t have one room done has had too much furniture in by the shop and again carpet fitters said it wouldn’t have been an issue so now I have a fully carpeted house with all new carpets but one which is annoying and the carpet at the time was on offer and if I were to purchase it now it would be more more expensive and have to pay for another fitting fee due to being given the wrong information in the first instance

We apologise that the telephone number was taken down incorrectly, this seems to have been a matter of human error.
With regards to the other issues raised I wanted to take the opportunity to clarify a couple points, which will hopefully help to resolve this for you, and get your project completed.
As standard we would always recommend new grippers with a new carpet - having a good underlay and structure in place can extend the life of a new carpet, ensuring that it is well fitted and stays in place.
We do generally offer a split fitting slot if you need to move furniture from one room to another without any additional charges. So you can have the rooms done on different days.
And finally, as a gesture of goodwill, we will be happy to honour your original deal on the carpet you selected, and if you buy the underlay (as on your previous order) the fitting will be free.
The independent fitters generally have some additional charges if you need their assistance in moving furniture, however these can be discussed when you are in store.
We hope to see you again soon to complete this project and if you have any queries int he meantime please do not hesitate to call the store directly.

The fitters left grippers and underlay…
The fitters left grippers and underlay all over. I found underlay in my bath and grippers left in every room. I even found a piece of wooden gripper with sharp pins on my craft desk. I phoned up and complained but never heard anything back. They fitted the stair carpet ok but it seemed as if they had just thrown cut off pieces anywhere.

Carpet we paid for in shop was told 5 weeks later it wasn't available. Fitters had no respect for house when fitting. Bad communication and hard to get hold of.

Good staff but poor product
Staff at shop great but fitter now fitting lvt. Fitter says as tiles not precision cut they are fitting close as should do at some points but then gaps at others
