Unwins Avis 

Bought Sungold tomato seeds from Tesco £3.49 and only 6 scrawny seeds in pack and none are growing. Contacted customer service and got no reply. Buyers beware, do not buy Unwin seeds. They are scamming the public

Greedy company. Only three to five seeds on each packet,final only two to three seeds ate growing. Very expensive for the amount of seeds they provide.

£3.99 for 6 geranium seeds. Purchased 2 packs. Horizon shadow and horizon neon rose. Had I known that you only get 6 seeds per pack I would not have bothered.

Absolutely awful. Six seeds for £2.50 you can buy a whole pepper for 50p and get about 50 seeds out of it!

Feeling ripped off. 8 tiny seeds £3.50.

"Hamlet F1" at garden centre.
i was in a hurry as wife was at checkout tapping a foot.
So concentrating on tomato size and time to harvest.
I failed to see the three red lines- ORGANIC, "AVERAGE SEEDS 5" £4.99. Also didn't think F1 frankenstein seeds could be "organic".
Now on the way to supermarket to find some Alicia Craig seeds!

I bought a pack of 4 different tomato seeds at £4.99
Only one pack was correctly labelled.
I checked cross referenced names on Unwins web without success so I have no idea what I am planting/growing.
Not a very satisfying outcome.

Bought a packet of Tomato modern classic collection. They cost me £4.99 so not exactly cheap, containing 4 different varieties. Each variety contained about 5 seeds!! On the front of the packet there is also no mention of the total number of seeds contained.
What a total rip off- people are trying to save money and reduce their carbon footprint by growing their own and we are being treated badly. Unwins up your game!

I have bought 2 packs of unwins seeds from a Chatham B&M store 1.5 months ago, planted mint in one container and basil into a second container. Of both packs I only have 2 live basil plants with 3 tiny leaves.. so looks like that was a waste of money and effort..

Just opened Unwins Tomao Orkado F1 seed packet and no seeds inside. Thank you Unwins 😊
What a ripoff company.

I just bought a pot of sweet peas Cathy First issue was the seeds were just floating about loose and not in the normal little white paper packaging
As I carefully removed only 14 seeds instead of 21 I was very disappointed with this purchase at 3.99 euro

I bought a packet of Canterbury bell seeds and they have turned out to be some yellow Daisies. Not good enough .

I bought kitchen garden from Dunnes Stores Colpe Drogheda and the coriander sachet was empty

Bought packet of tomato seeds from Tesco only four seeds in packet disappointed as it says approx eight

NEVER BUY UNWINS SEED AGAIN
Bought four packets Nemesia seed £2.49 each best part of £10 .. says average seed in each 50, there was a total of 32 seed from all four packs averaging 31 pence each, what a bloody rip off !!!! I'll let you know how many germinate,, I'am not holding out much hope.....

An update to my feedback below.
Star rating increased from 1 to 4 based on excellent customer service from Unwins in response to my feedback.

Unwins communicative, quick to respond and I was compensated adequately. Thankyou Unwins

Similar to others' reviews. Bought tomato plant seeds for 2.99. Realised when setting up that there was 7 seeds in the pack out of the 8 seeds in the contents.
Poor value for money and won't be buying unwins again.

Three seeds in a packet which cost 2.99 and states average 15 seeds on the packet. Not impressed. Wont be using unwins again.

Last year I grew "Gwendoline" sweet peas, with seeds from Thompson & Morgan. They were superb! This year I couldn't get the same ones from T&M so I bought "Gwendoline" from Unwins. The first time I've bought anything from them, and the last! They are nothing like the ones I grew last year; they are red instead of pink and have no scent. Extremely disappointing... no, infuriating!!

After buying unwins white lady runsner beens and Sutton seeds polestar runner beans at the same time out of 30 seeds from unwins the germinationwas very very disappointing as only 6 germinated where as the Suttons 40 out of 45 seeds germinated both packets are in date, and now its to late so sow anymore, very disappointing

Bought a packet of Kelvedon Wonder (a dwarf, white flowered pea) this season to supplement seed from another supplier. Now all the rows have grown, the Unwins rows are definitely not the variety stated on the packet, being very tall with pink/red flowers in contrast to the rest of the rows which were, as labelled, Kelvedon Wonder.
Had similar issues on a previous occasion so will not be using Unwins (now Marshalls) for seed in future. They have no discernible customer service so are not interested in addressing any complaints.
