Excellent Service.

I went for the first time to have my gait analysis checked even though I am a runner for over 45 years now .
From the minute I walked into the up & Running Reading store , I was given their undivided attention and the gentleman that served me went through my analysis in detail and then went through different styles of runners that would best suit me .
Top store only positive to say about them .

These guys really know what they are talking about. Very helpful but not pushy, I tired various trainers on and then found a pair that suited me so then tried them out on the treadmill and I even had a video watching my action to see if they were a good fit. Top service, thank you.

Thankyou Zara at Harrogate U&R who looked after me brilliantly on Saturday finding the right shoe; support/size and yes even colour. Patient, expert and ever so helpful - I left a very happy customer- well done!!

I spent around 30 minutes in store with Harry, he was wonderful, so attentive, patient, friendly and knowledgeable. I felt like he was really committed to helping me find the perfect shoe, and eventually we did! Overall lovely store and great staff. Thanks Harry👍

I was served by Maximilian, he was incredibly knowledgeable, a brilliant guy to guided by. We did a gait analysis where he helped my identify the right type of shoe to go with. He showed me and allowed me to try a number of styles and brands that I should consider. I never felt upsold, pushed or pressured into any purchase which is an absolute win for me, if I feel any of these I walk straight out, so to be given as much knowledge and guidance as I was, I would strongly recommend up & running as a go to place for all things running.
The store itself has a fantastic selection of running shoes for all types and kinds of runners from beginner to pro, heavy (like myself) to light.
They sell a variety of accessories, some clothing and consumables for those longer or more demanding runs.
They also have some run meets which I have been told lean more to a social run meet than a competitive run meet. I have committed myself to attending once I get going again and get some miles under my feet.
Over all 5 stars for a reason, I'd give them six if possible.

Yesterday I went to buy my first pair of running shoes and met Richard who was very friendly and made me feel excited to own my first pair of running shoes. The gait analysis was a very cool experience and Richard recommended and assisted me in finding the best pair of shoes that would suit my style. I tried them today and had the best run ever. Honestly, one of my favourite experiences when shopping and learned a lot. One final thank you to the staff at up and running.

Another lovely experience at the Sheffield shop today. Went in to get new trail shoes. Talked through the experience of my current pair with Amar, who proceeded to find me several different options with these concerns in mind. Very helpful and caring with the treadmill testing (I’m not great running on them). Left with a very comfortable pair of shoes and several book recommendations! ☺️

I was helped by Sally-Anne today and she was absolutely great! Sally helped me understand my gait and thus pick some great shoes. As a beginner this felt like a great introduction into the world of running. Thank you Sally and all the staff there! :)

Popped into Up & Running where I was greeted by Steve to buy some running shoes.
Very friendly and I felt like I received very good advice.
Few runs on the treadmill and Steve showed me what he was looking for in my running gait on his laptop so I have the correct style.

Highly recommended and will use again.

Happened to be in Birmingham and after some long term knee pain issues I've been wanting to return to running again. I know if have pronation issues and having struggled to find anything but fashion trainers in the city centre spotted a branch if up and running on colmore row. Nipped in and was speedily and informatively helped by Emma. Emma was great, analysed my gait, provided advice on trainer size and width and tried on 3 different trainers. Was planning on the family getting me them for father's day so with a bunch of info and leaning towards some brooks gts adrenaline 25s went back home to inform the fam. After a bit more research based on Emma's advice ended up going for the brooks gts glycerin 22s. Similar to the adrenaline's but a plumber/more cushioned ride. Would defo recommend. No hard sell, lots of helpful advice and info and a very friendly bunch too 😀

Marine assisted in helping me choose the correct running shoes for longer distances! She was thorough , explained everything in detail, did my gait analysis. We tried on a few different pairs and I selected the first set she actually made me try on. She was lovely! I left with a pair of Brooks Glycerin :)

Beginner at running and needed a solid pair of running shoes. Sebastian helped me out perfectly, talked me through all the options and picked the best pair suited to me. Thank you, definitely recommend

Visited the Teddington store where Sebastian helped me pick out a new pair of new balance more v6. Went through 6 different shoes and he was helpful with all the additional information. Will be buying there again!

Richard was excellent. Walked me through many different types of shoe, explaining their differences and analysing my gait. Would highly recommend to anyone new to running looking to get a good pair of shoes that will reduce injury risk.

I started the Couch to 5K plan 7 weeks ago and have really caught the running bug, so I decided to invest in proper running shoes. Having previously been in the military, I’ve dealt with shin splints and stress fractures before, so getting the right support was really important to me.

I visited the Up and Running store in Headington, Oxford today and was served by Aaron (from the receipt). He was genuinely enthusiastic and never made me feel pressured to buy anything. I had a full gait analysis, and he talked me through several different pairs of shoes – even though I never mentioned a budget, he thoughtfully showed me options across different price ranges, always focusing on what would work best rather than pushing for the most expensive choice.

He also showed me the footage from my gait analysis and explained exactly how each shoe compared, which really gave me confidence in his recommendations. I ended up with an incredibly comfortable pair, and I was also able to use my Blue Light discount.

I travelled an hour to get here, and it was absolutely worth it. Both members of staff in the store are a real credit to Up and Running. I’d highly recommend visiting if you’re looking for honest, expert advice and great service.

Rob made the experience a breeze his customer service was outstanding with knowledge and patience from start to finish. My brother has learning difficulties rob spoke with him just as he was any other person he made us feel at ease and we will definitely be returning. All other staff we just as friendly.

Up and Running feels like a community shop staffed with helpful, knowledgeable enthusiasts. It does not feel intimidating or indifferent as some specialist shops do.
I have bought several pairs of shoes and other kit previously and this has always been my experience

I went in-store looking for some new running shoes. I bought my previous ones second hand on vinted but they weren't the best fit and as I increase my mileage I thought I'd invest in some new ones. Richard was so welcoming l, got me on the treadmill trying different types of shoes and left the store with some great trainers and socks. So knowledgeable! - highly recommend the Basingstoke store
