Wine Club member for several years... Virgin Wines recommended
I've been a Wine Club member for several years now. We get good wines from Virgin, and it's fun. It's easy to manage the club online and to buy wine ad hoc. On the few occasions where there has been an issue or I need to contact customer service with a question or request, the service has always been excellent and completely satisfactory. They even refunded the price of a wine we didn't like.

I frequently recommend Virgin Wines to friends. They consistently offer the best wine we've ever had. On the rare occasion that there is a problem, the company quickly refunds the full price of the wine. Their customer service is excellent.

Great selection of wine and customer service.
It is all good, or mostly good
As long as I keep up with my end of the deal it all works great. I get an email about 20 days before my next ship which gives me time to decide if I want it or not, or do I want to change it. I signed up for the unlimited ships for a flat fee because I thought it was a better deal. Around the holidays, I give away a lot of wine so it pay for itself in a year. I upgraded my membership from regular to VIP, cancelled my regular (without incident) and so now I get wines with a little bit more of a retail $ value, which is great for giving. I think I like the other wines better, (before VIP) but I have only had a couple or three ships, so I am giving it a chance. If I ever delay ship or decide to cancel and have an issue, I will come back here and let you know. The 4 start is because I would like to always pick the wine up at the Fed-Ex facility instead of porch delivery because it has to be signed for. It is heavy and no need to have the delivery guy hump it unnecessarily if I am not home. You have to intercept after shipment with its tracking number. .
Geriatric Version of the Wine Club? LOL
I was gung ho when I first started buying from Virgin Wines, but now I've slowed way down on my wine consumption, so the wine club is a little too much for me right now. A geriatric (ha ha) version might be nice (every 4 months, maybe?).
Nice way to experience different wines
Nice way to experience different wines. There is some effort in trying to follow individual likes when offering deals as well as assembling quarterly distributions. I would have given a 5, except for:
- FedEx here often says they will deliver on a date and that it's "on the truck", but then they don't. After waiting all day to sign, they post an email saying they stopped but no one was home, which is patently false.
- The time lag between ordering and deliver, and especially between being told a quarterly distribution is coming, can be a week to several months. This needs to be tightened up.
Covet your Virgin Wines Sales Representative. They keep your best interests in mind!
I ordered my first case of wine a few years ago under a promotion Virgin Wines. I price checked the bottles (and still do) and find that the prices are better than I can find on my own.
When you sign up you get a personal representative who handles your account. I have come to depend on Brittany as my Rep. We have had good conversations on the phone and she knows what I like and will reach out when a good deal for wines I enjoy become available. Over time I have tended to push back my regular shipments in lieu of purchasing the cases she recommends.
Best wine club for the money.
Best wine club for the money.
I've joined several different wine clubs over the years and honestly, most of them suck! They send you cheap wines that taste cheap and too many of the same thing. Virgin on the other hand, constantly surprises me with really tasty wines that I love for a very reasonable price. They have all kinds of bells and whistles that will narrow down your favorite types and eliminate the things you're not crazy about, but I never use that feature. I'm just happy to be surprised with the contents of each case that arrives to my doorstep. I've been a member since 2012 and I look forward to many more years with these folks.
Variety is the Spice of Life
Too many times we receive the same wines again and again, winding up with 3 or 4 bottles of the same vintage. We like variety and only rate a few wines very high or very low, and frankly are not sure whether our ratings have much effect on what we receive. We supplement our club cases with those from Virgin's mail offers where we have more selections and varieties to choose from so we can, for example, try French roses without expecting them to come in future club cases.
Fun Club
I enjoy most of the wine. It's fun to discover new types. You have lots of flexibility and this is important to us.
Wine selection was okay at best
Wine selection was okay at best. The main reason for the one star is that I attempted to call and cancel my service about 15 times over a 3 day period. Each time I'd have to navigate through their system only to have them hang up on me. Great customer service when they want you to buy, terrible service when you are trying to cancel. I just reported their last charge as a fraudulent transac

Will charge you whenever they want. Refunds impossible.
Signed up for Virgin Wines in 2017 for quarterly (every 3 month) deliveries $139 a case + $19.99 shipping.
$170 our the door/4 times a year seemed reasonable to me for 12 bottles of new interesting wines I wouldn’t normally try.
First few deliveries of 2017 were ok, but by the 3rd shipment I decided the quality and selection I was receiving was not worth $170 even every 3 months. Began delaying Orders.
By 2018, I had received a shipment in January and May (May I tried to cancel before shipment and was told by a customer service agent this was completed and refunded) - yet a case arrived anyways a week later and no refund received.
On the date the May “canceled” order was received my account stated that my next shipment was scheduled for Nov. as per my 3 month delay request.
On June 8th, my account was Charged for $170 for ANOTHER shipment without notice?!?!? Basically they charged me for June immediately once they saw I had delayed the 3rd to Nov to guarantee a 4th delivery in the year without my knowledge or consent.
I was never signed up for monthly shipments in the first place and now they think it’s ok to charge me the next month after an unwanted order was already received the previous month?!? “You can always delay your delivery if you have enough wine” .... BS!!!
Read the fine print people. Trying to get a refund for the June shipment now and CANCEL my membership in full has been like pulling teeth. You CANNOT cancel online you have to call them (first clue they are a scam) and everything they tell you over the phone is lies and cannot be confirmed or disputed easily with credit card company without written record.
If you signed up with PayPal you’re even more screwed on refund but can remove them as a preauthorized purchase in your PayPal account for future.
Also worth noting, the wine case selection become poorer and poorer as my membership went on...not just my opinion but pretty much everyone I shared the bottles with.
Gross fraudulent bait and switch membership scam really wish I never joined for the airline points.
Stay Away!

I cancelled my "club" membership in January 2017. They randomly sent a $170 case to a family member in November 2017, and billed me for it without my consent. The customer service rep said they "skipped" my other cases in the club but for some reason sent this one. This is a scam. If you get a deal, cancel your credit card afterwards.

beware
i never received the wine, never signed for the wine and they won't give me more than $40 off of the $172 they say i owe them.
Poor service and shady practices in my opinion.
Somehow, Virgin Wines got my credit card and signed me up in their club without my knowledge. The found out when I received a box of wine that I had not ordered and checked my credit card account to find that I had been charged for it. When I called to complain, they seemed unwilling to listen to me and said they would send me a return label and refund my money. I have since complained by email several times, but I have not received a return label. Another part of the problem is that I have had to cancel my credit card and I fear that Virgin Wines will try to refund my money (if it ever gets that far) to my old card--even though I have told them to send me a check. Worst consumer experience ever!
These folks somehow stole my credit …
These folks somehow stole my credit card number and signed me up for the introductory wine package. I don't even like wine. When I found the charge on my credit card I called the company and said I never ordered from them. The lady said she would cancel the order and refund my money. Well today the order shows up at my door and FedEx wanted me to sign for it. No way I had it sent back and the FedEx guy told me they get tons of returns from this company, they are steal folks credit cards and sending them orders they never placed. I never did get the refund so I called my bank and disputed the charge. This company should be run out of business. I'm going to report them to my states attorney general. This is just theft and the lowest kind of business practice.
Bad Company!
I would give a zero star if they have it. Never make purchases from this company. The customer service is really bad. I made an order last November and called them several times just to change a payment method. One representative couldn't find my account, the other one couldn't find my order and the others promised me to change the payment method, but never made it right.
What makes me really angry is that I just found my credit card was charged of $230 for the order that I didn't place. I couldn't reach the customer service and just called my credit card company. I hope that I can get my money back!
I am really curious about if there is any department that I can turn to for help. This is not the way to do business!
The bad reviews are correct
Signed up on Nov 27 for an introductory shipment of 15 bottles which arrived properly. I enjoyed a few of the bottles, so I decided to order 4 more. It's been two weeks and and even though my credit card has been charged for two orders, there's no sign of a second box being shipped. Fedex tracking says "a label has been created", but no signs of it ever leaving a warehouse in Joliet, IL. Two successive phone calls to the 800 number have been answered by rude phone agents who have both said that the order was sent to a second clearing house for fulfillment, and it isn't Virgin's fault anymore after the order has been sent to someone else to fulfill. The first phone rep wouldn't even look anything up on the order, but instead gave me a Fedex tracking number and told me I had to work it out with Fedex on my own. Not only that, but I've never received any form of email from this company on an account being set up, or confirmation of either of two boxes being shipped out. Hmmm......
Continually poor customer service--don't buy from Virgin Wines
I am a Virgin Wines customer and club member. Any time (which is almost every time) I have a problem with an order I am seldom satisfied with their solution. Problems include shorted orders, repetitive wine shipments instead of the variety I've request, the usual corked or otherwise unsatisfactory bottle. They never go beyond a refund, even in light of consecutive errors unless pressed hard. The grudgingly offered discount, always on a future order, thereby locking you into buying more often comes with a snarky remark or such over the top apologizing that it can't be sincere. If I hadn't paid for shipping for the entire year I would cancel my membership, but I'm stuck until August 2017. The best I can do is warn people away from this company. I only gave them one star because I didn't have the option of negative stars. Doug Janousek
