Thought Clothing Avis 

I bought two items- one ripped in the first week, and the other ripped in the first month. Definitely avoid this company - over priced rubbish! Will not buy from them again.

I ordered 5 items and had to return 3 of them. 2 were faulty and 1did not fit quite right. The other 2 I kept, the dress you can see threats here and there, the quality definitely doesn’t justify the price, very unfortunately. I really wa excited about receiving those items and they were quite disappointing for the price you pay! I would not recommend again as there are other ethical and substantial brands out there that offer much better quality and cheaper price.

I really enjoy Thought Clothing. Their designs and patterns are gorgeous. Fabrics are super soft and clothing well made. Socks especially are good quality and last for ages. Love this brand.

Very happy. Surpise chocolate with my order came just when I needed it most which absolutely made my day. Quick delivery. Pleased to be able to buy some hemp clothing which is not easy to find. Thanks

Nice clothes and sustainable packaging, which was lovely, but 2 months after my order I received a physical catalogue by post, printed on thick glossy paper and held together by a plastic sticker... Definitely not as ethical/eco-friendly a company as they claim to be, I wonder if they only use the "thoughtful" branding to ramp up the prices.

The clothing was lovely and packaging very good - paper etc. Sadly I too was incredibly disappointed when I realised items came from China.

I've bought a few things from Thought. I like the paper packaging and natural fabrics. No problems with returns either. But I didn't realise until I looked at a label to check washing instructions that the garments are made in China. Given China's human rights and environmental record for me this calls into question Thought's ethical claims.

I have placed two orders with Thought in the past five months. My first order was for three different Loren Cardigans. The colours are beautiful, the fabric (organic cotton) is very comfortable, and the cuts are flattering. My order arrived promptly in eco-friendly packaging and I was very satisfied with my experience.

My second order was for a cami and pair of briefs. They also arrived promptly and in eco-friendly packaging. Although the sizing was accurate, they were pretty, and the fabric was lovely, alas - the cut just wasn't suitable for me so I had to return them. No problem. Easy and free UK returns - label provided. In addition to the two orders I placed, I received two more cardis as gifts for Christmas and love them just as much as the others.

A final thing to note - Thought is often stocked in small boutique shops in the UK. When we went into lockdown again in autumn, Thought put a post on FB encouraging people to tag small shops where Thought products are found to help support those small businesses. They didn't need to do that, as anyone following Thought on social media is likely to be a fan already and can order directly from the website. I think this speaks volumes about the ethos of the brand. Needless to say, I would shop at Thought again and would recommend the products to friends.

I have been buying from Thought for four years and almost all my outwear (not underwear or tights or socks) are Thought. Email comms usually good as is delivery (we are lucky with our local delivery people). Never had a problem with returns or items out of stock. Designs are original, though many don't suit my petite hour glass figure, size 8 bottom, 10 top. However, the size description is usually accurate so can avoid what won't fit or suit. I don't buy tights or socks which tended to pill or become loose (prefer Seasalt), but love knitwear, dresses, unique patterned skirts, tops, coats/jackets and Sheng trousers (perfect length for me). These wash and wear well and last. Some old favourites are about to get dyed to give them an update! I like the ethics and unlike many firms, Thought have worked with the same factory in China for 20 years - decent working conditions and wages. My tall, slim vegan nieces now enjoy their clothes too.

Good quality clothes customer service and excellent delivery times. Their socks are amazing!

Really beautiful and well made clothes. Love the ethos behind the company and this definitely reflects in the quality of the clothes.

I ordered some socks as a Christmas present for a family member- they sent me the link so it should have been fairly straightforward. After 9 days and 3 promises of delivery the socks still have not arrived.
I cannot review the product as it has not been received. I can review the service is shocking from the courier- Hermes. Had I known they were using Hermes I would not have ordered from them as they are the worst courier service in my opinion

Brought a jumpsuit, but when it came it had a huge miss coloured path on one of the shoulders. Since I live outside the UK, they do not offer free return, even if what they sends you is broken:( I am a student, so I had to save up a lot to be able to afford this. Now I don’t even have the money to afford getting a exchange.

I wanted to find some sustainable brands and I found Thought Clothing online and it looked promising. I decided to order myself bamboo leggings because I really needed one for work, so I thought that it will be better to pay more but have them for longer. At first, I was really impressed It came beautifully packed in paper packaging, the leggings felt extremely smooth and nice, although I ordered size 10 because there are no smaller sizes so they were a little bit too big but it wasn't a huge problem. Unfortunately, after riding a bike around 3 times in them, they started to pill on the back and the rubber in the leggings started to rip (even though they were too big). The leggings are also bad for exercising because you can see through them, so if you did some stretching anyone could see your underwear. Not so sustainable after all... So the 2 stars are only for nice packaging and fast delivery.

Wonderful company. Such a beautiful website and clothing. We need more clothing companies that are sustainable. The clothes and patterns are beautiful. They are a bit expensive for me so I buy in the sale.

Bought two items from Bamboo fabric using the August discount code. Absolutely thrilled. I have skin problems and can only sleep with Bamboo bedding so finding clothes I can wear without problem is really difficult. I am normally a size 12 but ordered size 10 based on reviews and they fitted perfectly, so cool and comfortable. I'll be back. Arrived within 3 days.

First thing to say is I am a big fan of many of the offerings; the design, cut, and textile quality is very, very good. I also highly respect the company for trying to be one of the good guys in a world of damaging fast fashion.

But being good guys aside, the service is terrible. On multiple occasions now I have ordered things from the website only for it to transpire that they are not in stock. If I’m lucky, I will get an email telling me this (though not necessarily before the order arriving). In some cases, I have simply had orders or part orders not turn up, and have had to ring up to find out what has happened.

I don’t understand how the website (which does have an ‘out of stock’ tag on some items by the way) does not link with stock levels and will let me order items that are out of stock. It’s basic e-commerce to have your customers be able to order without fuss from your website.

On the most recent occasion the company has offered me a small credit to apologise, which needs to be recognised as good customer service. Had it only happened once this may have even been to their credit. But several times this has happened now (going way back before anyone had ever even heard of Covid) - I don’t want a small amount of credit, I just want you to get it right. Especially as fairly often I am ordering gifts for other people!

There are other sustainable fashion retailers out there, and if shopping with them means I actually receive what is offered on the site, I may find they get the lion’s share of my business in future.

So disappointing. I ordered 4 packs of bamboo socks. 2 packs turned up. No explanation or communication as to where the other 2 packs were. No tracking information either.

10 days after my order I get a refund for 1 pack, followed 4 hours later by a "sorry we're out of stock" email. When I replied to ask about the other pack that I hadn't yet received, I got the usual excuses and was asked for my order number. You'd think they'd have needed that for the "out of stock" email I'd just replied to...

First pair of socks started to bobble after wearing once. They're nice and soft and I like that they're made from bamboo, but I am now concerned about how long they'll last.

Such a shame that delivery, customer onboarding, customer service etc is completely lacking in any personality, believability or authenticity. It's robotic, communication is very poor and reactive. And come on, a retailer that's turning over £2m ought to be able to manage its stock levels on its website automagically. It's not that difficult, even with multichannel selling.

I get that deliveries are slower at the moment, offices and warehouses are having to cope with social distancing and so on. But this messed up order isn't explained by any of that. I'm just left with the impression that they can't really be bothered with direct-to-customer sales, they'd rather focus on wholesaling to retail. In which case... just do that!

I've now received my second refund for the other missing pack and an identical bland apology by email. You can keep your "£3 off your next order". There won't be a next order. Particularly since they've given me the impression that there will be two lots of £3 off - but since they both have the same code, there obviously won't!

I recently bought 2 pairs of leggings from Thought, the Ammonite Bamboo and a pair of plain black Bamboo Basics Leggings. To be clear I bought these leggings through the Ethical Superstore, not Thought themselves, but I'm not writing to comment on the customer service I received, more the quality of the product.
I chose these leggings because I wanted to buy sustainable clothing, and Thought are very well considered in terms of their ethicality and sustainability. The leggings cost just under £28 and £25 respectively.

I am disappointed with the quality of these leggings, particularly the printed ammonite pair. The black basic pair, although a lovely soft fabric, are very thin, you can see your skin when you bend your knee, for example. I didn't mind that as I will just wear them under dresses and skirts, but wanted to let other shoppers know. For that price, I expected slightly better quality, but hey ho.

The ammonite printed leggings are extremely disappointing. Again, very thin, so you can see your skin through them. When worn, the printed pattern is stretched so doesn't look that great. More concerning is, I have worn these leggings for 2 days (not all day, maybe six hours each day) and they look faded, and the fabric has developed a slight 'fluff' to them. (You know when it's not quite bobbly, but the fabric starts to look fluffy all over). They have already started to lose their stretch, and there is bobbling between the thighs at the crotch. I can't see these leggings lasting very long, which is a shame, as I wanted to spend the money and invest in better quality, sustainable products.
I won't be purchasing an item of Thought clothing again.

I would return them but I only noticed the thinness after I'd left the house in them, and wore them for a day before I noticed the deterioration.

Just a warning for future shoppers out there.

I'm sure the clothes are lovely. I was pleased they post to Canada and paid of course the extra for that. I have just received a customs duty fee from Canada. Only if you look for the pale grey print do they indicate that might happen. I've been posting to Canada for 40 years and never had this. I thought it must be a scam but no. The fee turns out to be $23 for just one light top.
