Absolutely brilliant grass cutter, excellent for neat cutting and collecting from cutting paddocks to neat lawns. Only downside was although it had a really reliable Yanmar deisel engine which in 11 years never missed a beat the tractor components around it were sub standard continually breaking down or breaking up, the last straw being the chaisis frame which split (I guess from metal fatigue, for the second time) Breakdowns and servicing costs were averaging over £1 500 a year for the last few years. it's a pity as it was a really good mower easy to use let down by poor quality unreliable components.

I have a 2011 T1800H. I use it on about 1acre of lawn. If I get through a cut without it shedding a belt it is a cause for celebration. I've changed the belts, of course, but it makes no difference. Having said all that it makes a pretty good job of cutting the grass, wet or dry.

Had a Westwood T1600 for 15 years, brilliant machine .
Bought T60 last year...utter, absolute crap , nothing works , won't lift grass, eats batteries and blows fuses , covered in useless safety guards and sensors. Do not buy at any price..would give zero stars if possible

We bought a Westwood T60 ride on mower back in 2021. It has been awful, fuses blowing, on its second battery, doesn’t collect the grass most of the time even though it’s supposed to mulch and collect, just endless problems! I wish we kept our old Westwood S1300!

Awful experience with v25-50 mower bought on 2020. Multiple problems right from the beginning and failures in parts long before they should become replaceable. Had a good machine from them before but product quality has clearly gone massively downhill.

Spoke to Ray Forsters where I purchased this and they weren’t in the least bit interested in helping.
Don’t waste over £5000 on this lawnmower

I have a Westwood T1800 made in 2010 that was included in a property sale. It also came with the shredder that was unused. I used both last weekend and I have to say I am very impressed with both the tractor and the shredder. I mowed an acre of quite long grass without any issues. The controls were intuitive and I found it a very pleasant experience. The shredder is a superb piece of equipment and I found it easy, even without the guide of a manual to change over from the grass collector. It mulched up leylandii branches with ease but I found you do have to encourage the branches in the hoppers to be eaten by the shredder. The only issue I had was that it generated that much mulch so quickly that another person was charged with keeping the waste gate clear.

I would highly recommend one if these. But be sure it has been regularly serviced. Same as you would for anything mechanical really.

The Westwood T50 we have for mowing our church lawn has been nothing but trouble. On top of all the issues it doesn't even cut the grass properly and never has. The only good thing about it is the pickup and roller which can create neat stripes.

I purchased a T1600 in May 2018, and it has spent more time back with the dealer than at my house. Belts shred (drive belt twice, scarifier once), batteries expire (I'm on my fourth), the deck never stays level, the powered grass collector has a life of its own, welded parts break, generally not fit for purpose despite a nice flat lawn of around 1.5 acres. Local dealer (Riverlea) is getting it in the neck because despite the mower having been in and out multiple times, there is now an issue over warranty. Would give zero stars if that was an option.

Terrible traction (T60) terrible grass emptying- leaves a sprawled out pile of clippings to then pile by hand. Poor cut as deck keeps falling out of level. I bought mine new, sold it after a year as I hated it so much.

I bought a V25-50HE this March - and I regret it every time I cut the grass with my Hayter 48 petrol mower because the Westwood has broken down.......again. The cutter deck mounting has failed twice, and now the cutter deck drive belt has failed. Whilst the suppliers (Baggleys in Norwich) have been fantastic, it seems they're fighting a losing battle with a machine that is singularly useless. And even when it does work it's not great - and uses a massive amount of fuel. Don't buy one. This weekend I yet again had to use my old Hayter walk-behind petrol mower - which didn't take me massively longer and made a far far better job of the lawn (although much more tiring!)

I have a 25 year old Westwood S1300 garden tractor and it never gave any trouble. It works perfectly in all weather conditions and the grass collector works also fine to collect leaves. Will look for another Westwood but seems hard to get outside of UK.

I bought a new Westwood T60 in April 2016 and have had it serviced every year to find out it now needs a new gearbox - £1500. Do not buy one of these machines.

I have owned a Westwood T60 from new for 2.5 years, during this time it has cost me £1200 in servicing and repair costs.
It is used to mow a 1 acre garden, so not heavily used.
This mower has been a disaster from the moment I bought it, It has just had one problem after another, for example 2 replacement belts for the grass collector, replacement battery, the original one lasted for 18 months.
It is cumbersome to manoeuvre, trying to deposit grass involves having to drive forwards whilst trying to empty the collector otherwise grass gets stuck, leaving grass cuttings over a 2-3 metre area which then have to be cleared away.
I would definitely NOT recommend those mower it has been expensive to buy, expensive to maintain, unreliable and doesn’t even do a good job of cutting the grass when it is working. Don’t believe the claims about still cutting and collecting wet grass-it doesn’t, it also struggles with longer grass.
I would rather cut my 1 acre garden with my old Hayter petrol mower, it may take longer but 100% reliable and does a far better job.

I have had a new T80 now for 4 years. It has been nothing but trouble. I have had a Toro for 30 and that mower has never had any problems at all. I upgraded that to the T80 and it has been problem after problem with numerous faults too many to list. Right now it is not working because the carb stuck and drained all the fuel into the engine sump. Simply fitting a £6 tap on the fuel tank would eliminated this problem from accruing. Now its a big problem. I emailed Westwood concerning the problems, They have not even bothered to reply to me. It is not until you own one of these that you discover just how poor the design is. Last year I asked Ernest Doe to give me a price to service it and it was almost £600 which is over twice the the cost to service my new Volvo XC90. Is that crazy! There are a lot of better brands out there so take a good look and dont do what I did and buy a Westwood you will regret it.

Bought a T50 ride-on mower 2 years ago and have experienced two major problems despite light use in a 1 acre garden with no rough grass. The first problem was an oil leak requiring new gaskets within 2 weeks of use. This was fixed under guarantee by the shop which supplied the machine. Now the plastic cooling flywheel fan has come apart shredding plastic chaff onto the engine, which overheated to the extent that the plastic cowl above the engine melted at the fixings and is now detached requiring replacement as well as the flywheel fan. This happened 4 months after the 2 year guarantee ran out. It remains to be seen whether the effect of the overheating has caused serious mechanical damage to the engine. My previous Westwood mower lasted >30 years and apart from normal wear and tear expected as it aged, it was reliable and effective. This machine is a great disappointment.
