A disappointing experience with my purchase of an electric C-Line Brompton. PDI checks weren't really checked in 2 cases - one quite important, the other, less so. I sorted these myself. Wrong battery... Voir plus

Today we are Wheelbase.co.uk, Wheelbase Lake District, Wheelbase Darlington and Wheelbase Yorkshire. We pride ourselves on being an inclusive and friendly store for everyone who loves cycling, whether that be road cycling, mountain biking, touring, commuting, family riding or e-Bikes.
We are a team united by a passion for bikes and we have a wide range of cycling experience amongst our sales staff, mechanics and mail order team.
Our passion for cycling is invested back into the sport through the sponsorship and support of our British Elite road race team Wheelbase CabTech Castelli.
Now in its 12th year, we hold our annual MTB demo weekend in April, attracting up to 250 riders to our Lake District store, often in spite of the wet Cumbrian weather. We have a great community of cyclists here in the Lake District and there are plenty of events going on throughout the year, including the 3 Valley Challenge in June, our Tour de Staveley in July and the Wheelbase Spring Classic in March. We offer backing to local organisations where possible and are great supporters of Kendal Cycle Club and Fix the Fells.

Wheelbase)Ebikes,they sell unprofessional,have 3 shops,Darlington,Stasvely,and the Lake district.
I wrang Darlington Wheelbase,i was excited to find they had the Amflow,PR Carbon pro)i am 5.8 and said they had the medium,Graham said to me,i have got this bike,he said yes,we have the PR CARBON PRO IN THE SHOP.
i said great i had just sold my Cube,and saved to get this new bike.
I give them my deposit) £2700 that was last week 1st August ,i thought great,looking forward,to getting my PR carbon, pro.4 days on i ring wheelbase)Darlington, whats happening to my ebike ordered,silence from Tom the salesman,works with at WHEELBSE,phone down, went quite,i then could not contact him,or anyone.
Later i find they told me,owe we sold the bike,Tom/Graham,either or sold my bike to someone else,i was told we have have your bike,later to find,today,4 days on they did not have PR PRO,it had been sold to someone else.
So i argued someone else they know)said they need that PR CARBON)so it wss given to another,person.
This bike was not sold, the day i ordered.
I know this wrang all shops,and PR i was available,so i paid £2700 deposit.
Today,telling they miss sold my bike,or the bike was indeed sold) to one of there mates.Graham,or Tom,tell me, they did not know why does,Wheelbase,not honour there sale.
Myself i think someone close,who wanted this PR Carbon,got it handed to him..
When i ordered this bike it was available
After taking my money,they dod not have the guts to ring me.
I am saying because i want to slag Wheelbase,but to complain,and say is not good enough.
Question did my order, i paid for, was it sold to someone?else,taking£2700 deposits,for no real product there.
I was only this bike has gone to some else.

Cracking bike shop - great staff.
Wheelbase is our local shop, but it's more than just a bike shop (they've got showers!?!) The staff love cycling and cyclists, they are incredibly helpful - and very patient.
We bought our gravel bikes from there and later our road bikes. Everyone was helpful, double-checked everything and made sure we were happy and understood the particulars of each bike.
The team own the shop and it shows.

Took my bike to Wheelbase Darlington
Took my bike to Wheelbase Darlington, which I purchased it from originally. It had an error 504 on the display. Waited for 2 weeks to get it booked in, they phoned me to say they can't possibly find a fault with it without racking a massive bill up so it's in my interest that they just leave it. The replacement motor was just a year old with a receipt to prove it. I phoned back to make sure they understood it was covered by warranty but was assured it's in by interest because it could cost a fortune to work out what's wrong. Fast forward to today and I took it to a bike shop in Bishop Auckland and they have called to say it's fixed with a £20 charge, it just needed a fault code cleared. I don't think Wheelbase had even plugged it in.
My plan was to get it fixed and to sell it for a new Am.Flow, I won't be giving my local Wheelbase the business and that's for sure.

Order went smoothly with Wheelbase but let down on the delivery date which I waited in two days after tracking my bike purchase. It eventually arrived three days late.

Got the job done. I’ve little relationship with the store as we live in Sheffield but he went above and beyond to help get me out of a fix. Proper customer service. I wouldn’t hesitate using the shop or workshop again in the future. Highly recommend and thanks again.
