I had a very productive shopping trip at Wickes in Canning Town today. The staff ( Akib) was incredibly helpful, friendly, and went above and beyond to provide superb customer service from start to finish. He were also very knowledgeable about the products, taking the time to answer my questions and make sure I found exactly what I needed.
It’s refreshing to receive such excellent service, and the whole experience made my visit easy and enjoyable. I would highly recommend Wickes Canning Town to anyone looking for great products backed by outstanding customer service. A truly glowing experience! A special thanks to Akib.

Canning town (London). an awful experience. I ordered online, some cement and sand. The delivery was delayed by a day, because they called they had a problem with a forklift. So they delivered the day afterr (thursday), on a very rainy day, they packed the cement on top of the palette and not covered it properly. The driver unloaded the goods, then I saw the cement was of course wet. So i called the branch and they said let the driver take back the goods. so the whole order was returned. i refused their offer to redeliver on Monday as i was already waiting for 2 days and the work could not proceed, they suggested the refund in that case and i agreed. BUT Since then I am struggling to get a refund, which should be a very straightforward thing to do! I called the branch several times, different people answered, some nice and some not so polite. As i saw no evidence of my refund (nothing refunded to Paypal which i used for the purchase), no confirmation email, nothing... so I called the customer service, the lady was very nice, she said she called the shop and everything is being processed, and the money should be returned within a day or too( it was a weekend). However, no money was returned. so i waited another 5 working days till today, Friday, checked the accounts, nothing. I called the customer service again, the lady said the manager would write an email to her. Straight after i called the Canning town branch where the goods were dispatched and taken back to. I gave them my order number, when a nervous guy on the phone told me off for my 'attitude' ( i only want my refund and was calm), that they are busy and he does not remember everything. Obviously someone did not do their job and did not do the refund. Fed up with this company, i can see the good reviews but that branch is something else....never again!
p.s.1 - i got the below reply probably from the customer services? i have NOT received any request for a further info... where did you send the request?? I just checked my details in my Wickes account and the email there is correct. I will have to escalate this further to trading standards or take a legal action if the refund is not processed. Wickes just cannot take people's money , deliver damaged goods and not do refund when these are returned!!!
p.s.2 only after i wrote here someone sent me an email. i contacted the customer services and let us see what happens, i will post an update.
p.s. 3 .. so I got refunded in the end, at first just for the goods and later in the day also the delivery fee. I have added 2 stars(3 in total) to the Wickes' rating purely down to the online customer service, which has been excellent and helped me with resolving the issue. I still rate the Canning town branch with only one star for a poor customer care.
