Wickes - Crawley Avis 

Ben and Mark went above and beyond to assist with my home decor requirements. I’m new to DIY and they patiently assisted me with the right materials, best value for money and even helped point me to online material to help achieve what I was after.

I had a terrible experience at the Wickes Crawley store. I bought a Dulux 250ml tester in "Mulberry Burst" and loved the dark shade. When I bought a 1L tin of the exact same color and base (W60 Extra Deep Base), it dried to a completely different, much lighter pinkish shade.
The cashier was very polite and acknowledged the issue, but the store manager was extremely aggressive and rude. He shouted at me in front of other customers, refused a proper replacement, and claimed that testers naturally have a different base, even though both labels clearly showed the exact same W60 Extra Deep Base.
He refused to listen, insulted my intelligence, and made up excuses instead of checking the store’s mixing machine. Faulty paint mixing combined with unacceptable manager behavior. Avoid the Crawley branch!

Contacted the team at Crawley, through their community programme, to see if they could help and donate some paint to redocorate our Bowls Club's clubhouse. Aimee has been great and kept us up to date and secured the paint for us.

The vision that Richard Sheridan had for my bathroom was brought to reality by SB builders, Laura and her team were very clean and tidy , they put protection down on our carpets and vinyl floors , the finished bathroom was everything we had hoped for and more it looked exactly like the cad design that Richard did for us .

Today I purchased a new bathroom.Marchela Chamberlain the design consultant was fantastic.
She helped me every step of the way and is extremely knowledgeable. 🤗

Terrible experience using the bathroom design and fitting service. We had nobody coordinating it, delivery was incomplete and so we lost out on the availability of the fitters who are now trying to fit us in. Two weeks in , still no bathroom and of course no apology. We have lost days of annual leave and earnings having to wait in for delivery and fitters.

Visited the Crawley store today and cannot praise your member of staff, Sophie R enough. She directed us to the area we were looking for. Unfortunately, each individual plastic trim item was damaged. We spoke to Sophie again and she mentioned another area where there were similar items and we were in luck. Thank you Sophie, your help was very much appreciated.

I have recently finished fitting my Wicks kitchen, designed by Marchela Chamberlain at Crawley branch.
Everything fitted very well. The design works very well for us. This is the second kitchen design by her that I have fitted. Very pleased with the end results of both of them.
She is very efficient and professional in doing her job and a pleasure to deal with.

John Gillam did an amazing job from start to finish helping us decide and choose our kitchen and we absolutely love it , any issues we had he was alway able and quick to sort it for us

Needed paint mixing,female member of staff was nearby in next aisle.
Asked what was required,but till point was visibly unmanned.
She asked wether she could serve the customer waiting,then come back.?
I agreed,she came back did my paint mixing,apologised for the wait...only a few minutes!.Saw her again at till point,was only staff member serving a fairly long queue.
Credit to her friendliness,and professional attitude,in obviously trying circumstances.
Where's the rest of the staff?,I ask yourselves.
But overall items I purchased,good value.
Crown,Dulux paint,own branch rollers,and the mixed paint easily located in-store.
Car park clean,trolleys of various types available,clean and tidy store.

I have recently had a new bathroom designed and fitted by Wickes and I’m delighted! The designer was John Gillam from the Crawley branch. He listened attentively to the key features that I wanted , while also making considered suggestions, giving me a bathroom even better than I had imagined. The whole process was managed professionally and I felt listened to. The installers were S B Building Solutions, who provided excellent attention to detail and a brilliant finished product. I am extremely happy with the entire project!

We put a review on here recently which seems to have disappeared. We had a Wickes bathroom installation. We aren't happy with the shower tray as we were led to expect a slight texture so it would not be slippery. It feels slippy, especially when using products - infact my wife doesn't use hair conditioner in there, she goes to the gym for a shower when using products due to this concern! Wickes claim they sent the tray we ordered, end of. They refer to the fact we didn't order a specialist 'anti-slip' tray from an available selection (at extra cost) but the reason, which we have given repeatedly, is we were led to believe we didn't need one that is specifically antislip as were reassured the standard tray was safe, not slippery and has a slight texture of its own. We are concerned about slipping when the tray is wet with products in use. We are still in dispute and will post outcome in due course. I will not be posting further until the Ombudsman has reviewed our complaint.

Awful appointment. Took one look at the photo and decided it was too small. Showed no interest in helping with a design. I felt I was an interference to his day. Would not use Wickes even if they provided a kitchen and bathroom for free. Also refused to help as we were not the tenant or owner yet dispute me telling him it will be very soon. Not impressed. Went to wren for the kitchen and a local bathroom fitted for the bathroom. Both were incredibly helpful.

Great service start to finish on our bathroom renovation. John listened to what we wanted and designed a gorgeous bathroom, the installation team finished and installed to a really high standard. Couldn’t be happier with the finished bathroom.

As the Wickes TV add depicts, we certainly were suffering from extreme ‘house-barrassment’ with regards to our kitchen. Installed over 30 years ago and looking extremely tired to put it mildly. Having steeled ourselves to get it sorted out, enter Marchela Chamberlain at the Crawley Wickes store. She’s an absolute gem, highly knowledgeable and lovely to deal with. Marchela carried out a home visit initially, and on our next meeting at the store showed us the computer generated end product. There was no comparison with the abomination we were scrapping to the proposed end product. After installation, we were delighted to see that the kitchen matched the original projected product almost exactly. The team carrying out the installation were great too. Highly professional, polite and informative. We had very few issues during the installation process and the disruption in the house was minimal.
We can certainly recommend anyone considering a new kitchen to go to the Crawley Wickes store and ask to speak to Marchela. You will receive excellent service and professional advice, not to mention a first class end product.
