I was recommended to take the test by a…
I was recommended to take the test by a gastroenterologist and ordered the test soon afterwards. I received the kit two days later, did the pinprick and returned the kit the next day. Results came two days later showing that I had a couple of intolerances that I was surprised at.
I am now taking steps to change things.
I called the customer help line a couple of times, first of all about doing the test and then because I had problems with my password.
Both times things were sorted out quickly and things were explained clearly and I was treated with respect.
Thank you for everything.

I’m really happy with my experience with YorkTest. The whole process was smooth and easy to follow, and the results have genuinely made a positive difference to my daily life.
I was especially impressed with the support and suggestions given by their doctor, who was very helpful and took the time to explain everything clearly (what I need to avoid and its substitute) . The dietary advice provided was practical and easy to follow, and I still use it on a daily basis because it makes me feel so much better.
Since adjusting my diet accordingly, I’ve noticed a real improvement in how I feel overall.
Overall, I’m very satisfied with the service and would highly recommend it to anyone looking to better understand their food intolerances and improve their wellbeing.

It made such a difference finding the intolerance.
It helped us to diagnose the intolerance affecting our daughter. Without it I don't think we would have ever found the route cause by eliminating multiple food groups. It has made a huge difference and was worth the cost of the test.

I have hugely benefited from the tests results. Life changing. No doubt. However....
Perpetual sales are a sales & marketing scam, and YorkTest are guilty of this. It's been 30% for more than a year now. I say this because...
A year ago, when I politely asked them to stop as I had personally been recommending the sale and was now guilty by association, an executive member reached out to me to offer a business opportunity instead of addressing the subject. When I reiterated that my only concern was their misleading advertisement, I was asked for my contact details followed by radio silence. Reading a review below from Malcolm on how he was offered a refund for changing his review has reaffirmed my belief that these lot are shameless scoundrels. I imagine they hoped that this would just go away as well.
Like I said, the test really helped my life. However, based on their business ethics, I'd try and find alternative providers.

It wasn’t an instant fix, but the improvement was clear. For us, the test was a helpful guide in identifying triggers and improving his skin.

Great service
Easy to follow steps for taking initial blood sample, quickly expedited results, if somewhat surprising! Fabulous follow-up by nutritionist, who guided us in the right direction to get the most of the test. Pointed us in the right direction as to what unobvious foods to avoid, and websites to get recipes from!

For anyone suffering from eczema !
For anyone suffering from eczema, I wanted to share my experience. I’ve had eczema for over 20 years, and in the past 8 months it became much worse. I was always told it was contact dermatitis because it only affected my hands, so I never considered food as a possible cause.
For the last 3 months, it got so bad that I could barely use my hands—they felt like they were burning, with blisters and open wounds.
I came across food intolerance testing and decided to give it a try. The results showed that I was severely allergic to sesame seeds and, to a lesser extent, cashews. At first, I didn’t believe it. But after testing it myself by eliminating and reintroducing foods, I realized sesame was the trigger.
I had been consuming sesame regularly without thinking—especially sesame oil and tahini.
Since cutting it out, I’ve seen a real improvement. I’m sharing this as an honest review in the hope that it helps someone else who might be struggling like I was.

Find out what is good for your body.
I did the test and was surprised by what I had intolerances to. I cut them out, and greatly reduced the amount of medium risk foods out too and was impressed by how quickly I started to notice differences. I lost weight and felt better in myself. I followed the instructions given by the nutritionist and after 12 weeks slowly reintroduced certain foods into my diet. I've noticed too much of a change and still feel good. I have recommended doing these tests to friends and family who have also experienced positive results.

Don’t waste your money
Don’t waste your money. Did an Intolerance Test and an Allergy Test. Both came back with a high score cows milk ( 5 on Allergy , 100 on Intolerance)
Went to my doctor who did a blood test which came back normal no issues.
Allergy UK quote NICE which says IgG ( intolerance) are of no proven diagnostic value and all tests should be through your doctor.
See your doctor, don’t waste your time and money.

Had a very quick response. After a bit of information exchange and medical excuses about what they test and how my doctor tests I was offered a refund.
I was offered a refund if I changed my review, not because they said one thing and my doctor said the opposite. I refuse the refund as I have only reported on what I have experienced. They are only interested in the poor review, not the result for me, time and money wasted for me and the NHS. Do your research first before parting with your money. Firstly, it’s important to clarify the difference between food allergies and food intolerances, as they are often confused but involve very different immune responses.
A food allergy is typically an immediate reaction mediated by IgE antibodies, which can be identified through standard NHS allergy blood tests. In contrast, a food intolerance is associated with IgG antibody responses and tends to produce delayed symptoms, sometimes hours or even days after consuming a food. This difference means intolerance-related reactions are not usually detected through standard GP allergy testing.
We also understand the reference to NICE and Allergy UK guidance. NICE guidelines are designed to provide the best possible care within a defined NHS budget. With research suggesting that up to 45% of the population may experience food intolerances, routine testing for all individuals is not currently feasible within publicly funded healthcare.
It’s also worth noting that NHS guidance evolved in August 2025, and blood testing is now recognised as a supportive tool when investigating food intolerances in appropriate contexts, particularly when used alongside symptoms and dietary review.

Not impressed at all
Not impressed at all, got results back in a day, said I was not allergic to milk but that it is the one thing I am really allergic to, and apparently cockroaches. Definitely not worth the large amount I paid.

We understand how confusing it can be when test results don’t seem to match your personal experience. It’s important to note that antibody-based tests measure the immune system’s response to specific proteins, which depends on exposure. If milk has been avoided or consumed very little, antibody levels may be low or undetectable at the time of testing, which can result in a non-reactive outcome despite previous symptoms.
Regarding the cockroach result, this is an IgE-mediated environmental marker rather than a food-related response. Sensitisation to cockroach allergens can occur through indirect exposure, such as household dust, and is relatively common in some environments. For many individuals, this does not necessarily translate into noticeable symptoms or a clinically significant allergy.
