Loved, loved, loved this hotel. Incredible location right on the beach. Friendly staff, all determined to ensure that you don't lift a finger as 'you're on holiday'. Food is excellent and loved the relaxed laid back feel of the whole place. Also liked the little extras like a wicker beach basket with beach towels and sun hats. And there's a small library and three hotel cats. What more could you want?! The reception staff are also very helpful and can arrange all sorts of outings - if you can bear to leave the beach and clear blue sea!

Set right on Pongwe beach this is a traditional mid-range beach hotel. Very friendly staff and good food. We stayed on a B&B basis and had light lunches on the beach; with dinner after the happy hour.

Beautiful and relaxing. The perfect end to our vacation.
Pongwe Beach Hotel is a lovely setting and my room was spacious and lovely. The staff was very friendly and the seafood platter at the restaurant was delicious. As with most of the hotels the beach hotels in Zanzibar, Pongwe is a long drive from Stone Town and other attractions and it was pretty expensive to go out and see the sites. I would be nice to have some sort of driving package or shuttle available to help with the cost.
Amazing beach, amazing food, amazing cottages with privacy, places for shade, and lovely touches. The tides make this beach so interesting. In the mornings you can walk far into the ocean in beautiful clear waters. The food was excellent, the staff so sweet. I have been on many beaches and this was one of the nicest I have seen. Absolutely wonderful spot to unwind and relax.
This hotel has it all, a great place to recuperate from safari. Food is excellent. The staff are very attentive, It has a beautiful sandy beach and a stunning infinity pool. Swimming in the sea is definitely to be recommended.

Manager Heidi was extremely attentive, very friendly with a great sense of humour. On arrival our room was beautifully decorated with flowers. They had noticed it was our son's birthday which was duly celebrated that evening. Accommodation excellent and the food of a high standard. The staff were delightful and very natural. Location was stunning.
The hotel was amazing and the beach was like the Bounty advert! The staff treated us like royalty and couldn't have been more attentive.
Idyllic spot nestling on the shores of the warm Indian Ocean. Our suite was huge and we were so well looked after, it was so peaceful and restful after our Safari!
