Honest review of Romeo Miklos / You Nailed It Ltd (photos available, currently going down legal process)

I’m posting this to help others make an informed decision.

I hired Romeo Miklos for building works at my home.
The project dragged on for over a year, and the workmanship was poor and incomplete, with multiple elements carried out incorrectly. Large parts of the kitchen had to be dismantled and redone by other contractors.

Communication became difficult and, at times, intimidating. He appeared to take on too many jobs at once, and subcontracted work to individuals who did not speak English, which contributed to errors. I was told it would take over eight months to return to complete basic outstanding work.

The costs were high for the quality delivered, and I have since incurred significant additional expense correcting defects.

I have photographic evidence of the workmanship and remedial works and am willing to share this privately with anyone considering using this contractor.

Based on my experience, I would strongly caution others to carry out thorough checks and consider alternatives.

The team has a good eye for details and they managed to finish the project in time.

Absolutely shocking. I CAN'T WARN YOU ENOUGH TO AVOID THIS TRADESPERSON/BUILDER. Very nice initial contact and pleasant but that's the only good thing. Cowboy work, no planning, and then delays for no reason whatsoever. My wall is still not stable after starting the job almost 2 years ago (yes 2 years for a week at the most job) for a small garden decking area and simple panel fencing in the back. Before you blame the pandemic all the supplies were purchased and available. A small wall rebuild in the front is unstable to this day, but we ran out of patience. In the end, WE HAD TO THREATEN LEGAL ACTION to get the fence put back up. Suddenly after a formal letter the next day he came back after months of excuses and put back up. He was found on mybuilder.com but it was too late to change my review. I've noticed there's a loophole on google reviews that aren't allowing new reviews because of business possibly affected by the pandemic so I can't place an honest review there either. We will have to get someone else in to correct his work. We may still seek legal action.
