I purchased a whole year because it was a good price option. My family love watching historical documentaries so it was a no-brainer. My husband wasn’t convinced but he now watches it more than anyone else in the family, especially the war docos. The variety of shows on there is fantastic and they continually add each week so always something new to watch. I love that some are short (30mins or so) and others are full length (1.5hrs) because as a busy mum sometimes I only get a small window of ‘me time’ and a short documentary is my favourite way to chill & unwind.

I’m really enjoying both the documentaries & the podcasts. Very well done.

Signed up for this with an interest in a specific topic. Way too expensive. Couldn’t find the topic I don’t recommend.

History Hit is a great podcast for those who are interested in a wide range of topics from English history to Egyptian to American history. They have a number of different presentation options that educate beyond the names and dates to how people actually lived within this time period like Betwixt the Sheets. Dan Snow and his team do a great job of interviewing guests as well. Couldn’t recommend this podcast enough.

I wish I could give five stars. The History Hit podcasts are some of my favorites. I was getting close to subscribing but will hold off. I like this show because it is generally safe from politics.

However, recently Dan Snow hosted a podcast called Harris vs Trump: How we got here. This was very political and one sided. If you are going to do an episode on politics, bring both perspectives. The guest literally called one side a cult and the other and energy.

Very disappointing…

Absolute fraud.I pi’s for one year. A year later they took another year subscription without an email saying did I want to resubscribe for another year. Contacted support and I received no reply. DO Not Subscribe.

I have had a subscription for two months. It’s the perfect blend of educational, interesting and doesn’t take history too seriously. I love the shows and podcasts! Please keep making great content.

While generally helpful in learning about history it is primarily, like so much content these days, entertainment. Some writers are better than others and have done their research, others not so much. For example, in a recent podcast on the last days of Marie Antoinette, the hosts and writers are describing a painting of Her Majesty who is wearing white. She is described as portraying herself as “angelic.” If they had done their work as “professional historians” they would know that for the French court white was the color of deep mourning. She was expressing her sorrow and grief, not trying to appear angelic. The devil is in the details and as long as you know that the scholarship is at times flawed and it’s primarily for entertainment and not scholarship it’s worth watching/listening. And while it could never be accepted as a source, it can point you in the right direction.

Enjoying the content, lots of good information on a wide variety of subjects. Some production values are a little stale, but I get it, this isn't big budget fare.

I have my Master's in the Tudor period of English history, and I have LOVED everything I've seen so far on History Hit.

Absolutely love the amount of varied content from some amazing historians.

Listening to Dan Snow’s podcasts while I run or walk or do yard work. Very enjoyable while scholarly. Listening to this podcast has become one of my favorite times in the week.

I am absolutely thrilled with history hit. I‘ve always been very fond of history, and HH provides a variety podcasts and documentaries. Highly recommended for history fans.

I first heard about History Hit via Time Team in the UK on YouTube. Eventually, I signed up on Roku for the History Hit app and channel. I enjoy every episode and the historians and different formats - one person discussions, podcasts and group discussions - are excellent. I have learned a great deal.

The podcasts are really really good. Would give them six stars if possible. However if you want to sign up use the website not via Apple. I did that and my membership was not recognised. When I wrote to customer support I was told to contact Apple. Not a hope in that direction so gave up

History Hit is right up my alley 🎳 and keep on sending me more info about what it was like 👍 being there on the battlefield and other subject matter pertaining to historical topics !

Excellent documentaries and I listen to the podcast everyday. I love history so thank you for allowing to watch and listen to history everyday. Well done!
