A huge shout out to Paul, Matt, Patrick and Dylan who helped steer me through the complexities of selecting my final line up. After a delay in getting hold of an Intel MB for the 14900KF and the imminent release of the AMD980X3D I opted to go with team red for the first time. A few last minute changes due to supply issues on some other components and I was locked and loaded. My new AMD9800X3d/PNY4090 beast finally arrived just into the new year. The support and communication from the guys has been brilliant, despite a couple of little hiccups, which were sorted quickly, with no hassles. I'm super happy with what they put together for me. Thanks Aftershock team!
Two Purchases - Both Failed and Terrible Returns process
We've purchased two computers from Aftershock. Both have had to be returned for warranty.
On the second return it has taken over a month and still counting.
7 business day delay with no email response after we got the conversation going.
5 full business days to acknowledge they had received my PC, despite me emailing same day that they have it.
After a month, my PC is ready for 'collection', despite filling out the form as delivery and being in a different state, their system has failed.
I emailed and called about this as soon as I got this message on Friday afternoon. Person on the phone said it would be sorted Monday.
Sure enough, it's now Monday afternoon, nothing has happened. Emailed twice throughout the day, still nothing. Have to call again now.
ScamShock PC
I've been looking at these prebuilts for a while now and they have always been bonkers expensive. One day though, there was an okay deal ($1300 [AUD] for 5 5600 and RTX 4060) and shipping was free. Pretty cool, I thought and resolved to buy it soon. The next day I looked at it again and the price had gone up by $50 and they wouldn't ship to my location. Scummy company.
Horrible delivery time
Horrible delivery time. Stated on the product and website and heavily advertised “ Same day delivery ” on all their platforms.
Guess what?. Waited the whole day and nothing came. Mind you i placed it before your 3pm cut off deadline. If you cant deliver on this, remove your damn “ same day delivery ” down and just admit that you’re a company that can’t fulfilled it. If you have just put “ standard delivery ”, your customers won’t even be angry over this and you can take all your time to deliver. You ruined your own reputation.
Another brand stated the exact same thing as Aftershock, yet they were able to fulfill it immediately and delivered at noon.
Excellent post sales customer service
Over the long CNY weekend 2 February 2025, my Aftershock PC could not turn on; I panicked as the Aftershock service centre will not open till 3 Feb 2025. Today Sunday 2 Feb, I urgently brought it into Aftershock Suntec store, initially they were resistant and told me to bring to the Service Centre on 3 February but I insisted they fix it as I only bought this PC from them less than 9 months ago! To my pleasant surprise the boss Mark Teo and his team actually rushed down to Aftershock Suntec store to assist me. They immediately brought it to their Service Centre on 2 February Sunday to fix it. Within 3 hours they fixed my PC and brought it back to Suntec where I was waiting! This is excellent post sales customer service ! Thank you so much Aftershock for your quick turnaround and prompt response!! Well done !
Poor communication and build quality is poor
Poor communication post sale. Unit delivered with build quality issues (back panel misaligned preventing ports from being used). Zero response to my query about the issue. Buyer beware.
I bought a PC on the 5th December
I bought a PC on the 5th December, I got it on the 9th January. It did not turn on, Monitor and keyboard not connecting. It took a few hours to get respond from tech support, all by email. After being advised to trouble shoot (re seat ram, and Power cycle) It still did not work. I ended up sending back the PC the following week. On arrival to the shop there was 1 week waiting time for assessment, then they answer me via email, telling that they had to re install the cpu, that I was unlucky. I got the PC back on the 29th January.
The same issue. PC won't start. I emailed them yesterday, and they answered saying that they are just back from holiday break and they will look at the issue. So brand new computer. Never worked. I will ask for refund.
$4300 PC - died twice and now warranty void
Ordered a PC for $4300 from Aftershock and found it started having BSOD issues. Returned to Aftershock and required new PSU, MOBO etc. Received back in March and come January (10 months later), the computer has failed again. Aftershock has said it is out of their 'old' warranty of 2 years, now that they offer a 3 year warranty.
If you're spending over $4000 on a PC be careful with purchasing with Aftershock as the reliability of a repair which has lasted 10 months and had very light use is questionable at best.
I've built all of my previous PCs with nil issues so it's unfortunate to pay a premium for a brand to provide a substandard experience.
Be warned you are unable to get tech or warranty support on phone without having to book a call several days in advance. That should tell you everything you need to know.
Gamer to gamer, you can trust Aftershock!
I've been a gamer all my life and built many PC's myself so I know what I'm talking about when I say Aftershock are genuinely fantastic.
Their PC's are built beautifully and their customer service is second to none. I see other reviews here stating otherwise but I can only speak for my subjective experience and in that they are quick to respond, very helpful, and you know you've got a human on the other end. Same can't be said for a lot of other businesses. They really will go above and beyond for you.
So, thank you Aftershock for being a genuinely great company with excellent customer service at the forefront.
PC was non functional on arrival
PC was non functional on arrival. USB ports had no power and display was not functional. Took nearly 3 weeks to finally get it sent back via warranty. Without a repair report or any communication it was sent back to me with the same issues it had when it first arrived. Will soon be asking for a full refund. Finding the warranty support to be over complicated and insufficient.
UPDATE: after calling Afershock was told that to get a refund I had to contact their tech support via email and that was the only option. Contacted their tech support via email stating that I wished to return the PC to their Melbourne warehouse and wanted a refund due to the difficulty of dealing with them. I received a copy paste response that they have previously sent about troubleshooting I should do on the PC they sent and no actual response to what was stated in the email.
Do not buy from aftershock. Their customer support once you have made a purchase is a joke and I am starting to get pretty sure they are a scam group
Low technical knowledge and don't care about after sale service
The new custom build PC with powerful CPU and graphic card (with 1000w gold PSU) ended up keep auto off randomly but the Aftershock PC unable to identify the issue and insisting no issue. In the end, I had to troubleshoot myself using all those possible workarounds from online forum and eventually managed to fix it by disabling the RAM overclocking profile. Turn out AfterShock PC never care about the hardware compatibility and service. They only sell you the high performance specs without guarantee of stability. They even tried to push blame to the game I playing which is the main reason why I get a new powerful PC. What is the point of getting a powerful custom build PC that cannot support the game I want with super low graphic settings? Had to give 1 star because of their service and hardware.
Uses worst shipping couriers
They use worst shipping courier to send the item. No shipment tracking updates provided from the courier and it has been more than 10 days since i received email saying "your order is on the way" but the item haven't arrived yet.
