Paying for a trolley

Nothing irritates me more than having to pay for a trolley.
Didn’t have any loose change and was told I had to pay for a token.
Spent $100 at the carindale store,
They could have given the token as a gesture of goodwill, but no, I had to pay for it.
They should be free when shopping at their store.

Why cant I contact Aldi urgently without going through stupid questions and answers.

This is a copy of an email I sent to Aldi and it was unable to be delivered. I sent it after spending at least 2 hours on Google trying to find a way to contact Aldi directly as I thought it was imperative that they were informed of this message.

Subject: Careless/False Advertising

Saffron threads or powder is advertised in the online brochure recieved via email today.
It is stated 0.5g is $4.99.
Just for the information of whoever is inputting data into your catalogue, 0.5g is half of one gram.
So how can you show pricing in the same advert for 10g Saffron for $9.98!!! IMPOSSIBLE, there are 20, 0.5grams in 10grams which equates to $99.80 NOT $9.98!

So, if Aldi want to sell me 10g saffron for $9.98 please tell me where I can pick up a pallet load and I will be there in a flash!!

You guys best change your catalogue before complaints go to Fair Trading when you refuse to sell 10g for $9.98.reg

Aldi you are these days crap .

Aldi you are these days crap .. no phone number .. everything email or forms to fill out, even for you to retrieve one of your trollies .. you are the worst supermarket in Australia for customer service .. do not buy non perishable products as to return or faulty its hell just so you won't do it .. can't even find a product you've had for years and your online stochchecker does not coordinate or understand product names typed in .. you used to be ok a decade ago and I started shopping here in last 3 months but going back to the other 2 supermarkets because in 2023 it feels like I'm in the dark ages .. For one product I need infomation about it has made me extremely angry that you are such a manipulative, money scrounging, customer unfriendly, unhelpful tyrants and I will never spend a cent with you again ...
AVOID ALDI AT ALL COSTS.. TOTAL HEADACHE AND STRESS..

Aldi Camberwell Vic has gone downhill…

Aldi Camberwell Vic has gone downhill remarledly in recent times. This morning at 9.15 am the fruit and vegetable stocks had not been replenished…..I asked a staff member who responded the stock was on a trolley out the back and would be out “in a while”, meanwhile the egg stock also had not been replenished, with just a number of cartons of smashed eggs in dis array in the egg bay, along with a small supply of caged eggs…..no free range eggs at all. By this time, approaching 9.30 am one staff member was evident restocking the dairy section. Obviously there is a staffing issue, or lack of supervision. I used to enjoy Aldi, but not now.

Pity my experience has been very poor

Pity my experience has been very poor.

I rang the service centre when the lock on mechanism part of the cordless air pump failed to hold the hose in place. I had the receipt and paperwork and was told they no longer had that part available as it was sold out.
But I said I was claiming it as a warranty issue. The response was that its wear and tear. I responded that its clearly as case of poor design or built in obsolescence due to the fact that he has sold out that part. I said that I would ensure that I contacted Fair trading and put it on social media and he hung up on me!

ALDI BASS HILL PLAZA HAS TO BE THE…

ALDI BASS HILL PLAZA HAS TO BE THE RUDEST SUPERMARKET IN SYDNEY.
This afternoon I called into Aldi Bass Hil land whilst waiting at the check-out to leave there were three people in front of me. The first was a well dressed young African Man, He pulled a folded plastic carry bag from his pocket which was very creased and one of the handles was quite stretched. In quite an aggressive voice she said to him "Are you sure you didn't get it from the Store" Open it, I want to see inside, do you have a receipt for it" The Gentleman replied "why did you ask me that, I bring a bag with me every time I shop here and you are the first to ever question it". His English was impeccable.
The cashier did not respond to him but to the next Lady in line in a loud voice "See, they don't understand a word I say to them - they just don't"
The Gentleman showing obvious signs of embarrassment, quickly left the store after being the subject of such a racially motivated slur, The Lady to whom this comment was made was Muslim and had 3 bags of Woolworths shopping in her trolley which she had opened for inspection. The Cashier said to the Lady in a very aggressive manner "Oh you're one of those who do most of their shopping at Woollies - I hope you have a receipt for all that". Pulling out a receipt the Lady replied "Yes, Would you like to come and check it". She was then ignored.
The gentleman in front of me had quite a quantity of groceries and moved his trolley to load it as it passed through the register and was standing to the side of the trolley After the Cashier had finished, she said to me in a very aggressive manner " Move your Trolley around here" which I could not do safely - she turned and screamed "I SAID - Move your Trolley around here" and again a few seconds later "MOVE YOUR TROLLEY". i am in my 70"s and have a disability affecting my back so I have to be very careful how I move. When I could safely do so I moved to the front of the check-out and said to the Cashier, Why are you so rude to customers - if you can't be pleasant and polite you shouldn't be in this job" She signaled the Store Duty Manager, a short gentleman of Middle Eastern appearance who walked down and as he was approaching I said to him "I am sorry sir but you have to have the rudest cashier I have ever encountered" being quite prepared to relate to him all the incidents that occurred. He immediately held his hand up to my face level indicating not to say anything more. He turned to the Cashierand asked what the problem was. She said to him "I asked him very politely to come round here and he abused me." Expecting him to then listen to my side, I was totally set back when he said to me " We don't want Rude people in this Store" pointed to the exit and walked off. As I was leaving I walked over to him and said to him "As a Manager, you should never allow your staff to treat your customers in that manner: His reply as he again pointed to the exit "We don't want people like you here".
I have to say I was set back by the treatment served out to both the African gentleman and the Muslim lady given the cashier herself was of Asian appearance The only conclusion I could come to was that if an employee at Aldi Bass Hill, you can be as rude and racist as you like to Customers knowing that the Management will fully support your insidious behavior
I recommend any Aldi Customer in the area to shop at Aldi, Milperra where the staff are always extremely pleasant, helpful and a pleasure to shop with.
Avoid the rudeness, racism and belittlement at Bass Hill.

ALDI’s Hopeless Website ALDI’s online presence is hopeless

ALDI’s online presence is hopeless. Their website is useless. Typed in “ Chicken breast Fillets” and then “Chicken Breast” and it came up with 2 varieties of chicken flavoured biscuits!!! I wanted the price of a pack of chicken breast fillets as I am a comparative shopper! But I got nowhere … just wasted my time and got frustrated.

ALDI really needs to improve their website to make it user friendly and informative for customers.

At present their website reflects a very minimalist approach to dealing with customer enquires, particularly in 2023!!!

Rude Cashier and poor service - Not worth saving a few cents for

I usually shop online from Coles or Woolworths for grocery. Several times, since I was in Chatswood, I dropped into Aldi to pick up some items. Problem (1): There is always a long queue and long wait at check-out, and one particular dark haired female cashier was almost always discourteous and loud. I have learned to avoid her, but today at around noon, she was the only one serving so I had no choice. When I got there, I showed her my shopping bag that had two small gardening items from another shop. She looked, nodded and started scanning. When I was about to pack away the items, she asked to check my backpack. When I said I would show her after I had packed the grocery away, she suddenly wanted to see the shopping bag again in addition to the backpack. It was a loud and blunt demand, giving the im0ression that she thought I had shop-lifted. Of course there wasn't anything of Aldi's in my bag and backpack, but there was no hint of apology or even a "thank you" from her.
Problem (2): Price - Comparing the prices of similar items sold by Coles and Woolworth, it is a myth that Aldi is cheaper. Some items might be a few cents less, but others are similar or even more expensive. Besides, Aldi never has discounts on real food for the dinner table, whereas different specials/half-price items are always offered by the other two supermarkets every week. I do weekly online shopping at Coles, and would save at least 1/3 of the total cost and only pay a small delivery fee to have the grocery delivered to the front door - $4 and even $2 if I choose a 6-hour delivery window. If there is any complaint concerning any item (e.g, vegetable not fresh, egg cracked...), I get a refund straight away and no questions asked. Conclusion - I would be extremely foolish to ever go back to Aldi again.

I shopped at Aldi Kilsyth Vic today it was horrendous apart from only having 50% of what I wanted and Iam usually a 95% Aldi shopper as I like their products but today the experience was the worst. Once at the checkout there were no pleasantries and the elder lady literally wizzed and threw my goods piling them up and actually insulted me on how slow I was, which I wasn't, I felt insulted as the speed she attacked me with my goods didn't give me time to pack them away....if this is the service of going forward I will give my custom to Woolworths and Coles as ATM in time Iam not saving a huge amount in dollars but the pleasant greetings and helpfulness in other stores is worth it ....a very unhappy customer

It's shocking

It's shocking. Went to Aldi Moonee Ponds, Vic. I have a tiny handbag just enough to put my mobile and my small wallet (I couldn't even close properly) The girl asked me to have a look, and I said : "It's not nice!" brcause I saw old people get checked their empty shopping bags that u can see from far they were empty!! She said loudly in front all customers "IF U R NOT HAPPY, DO NOT COME IN !!" I told her I won't come again in this shop. Bad attitude!!

Get Rid of Self Serve Checkouts…

By having no one man the checkouts thereby forcing people to use the new self serve option at the Hyperdome store is poor service.
Why install so many self serve checkouts, one or two Willis do. Face to face customer service is best & what I prefer!

Have recently been shopping at Aldi for first time, as it is closest to my Airbnb. A few products have been good, but some dishes eg scallop and prawn pots had tough and tasteless seafood, despite being careful not to overcook. Tinned ‘medium salmon’ was fatty, with a lot of skin and tasted poor in salmon mornay. Given the time and money it would take to work out good versus poor products I won’t continue to shop there.

False advertising

I have been watching advertising over the last month and have concluded they simply falsely Advertise... They then rely upon delivery delays to explain it away, but they get you into the store and that's all they are after... Just go to Woolies and get what you need.
