About Us
Alloway Timber & Builders Merchants was founded in 1971 by Joe Alloway (senior). He started the business from the back garden of his parents’ house in Fulham and in 1973 he expanded by opening our Putney Branch, where we still trade from today.
Our Purpose
We offer an impressive range covering softwoods, MDF, hardwoods, skirtings, and architraves, to aggregates, blocks, bricks, and lintels. In essence, all the materials you need for your construction project from start to finish, delivered via our extensive fleet including crane lorries.

Same old story got an invoice from…
Same old story got an invoice from Alloways showing a price of over £1 for a class B engineering brick when only a couple of weeks ago I was getting them for 59 p a brick so I’m lucky I’ve checked all the invoices. Been in touch with them promising me they would credit me back
Same as plasterboard adhesive charging me £16 a bag same bag in magnets for the same product £8 a bag be careful

Your far too expensive
Your far too expensive. Tried to charge me £8.40 plus vat for 1 bag of post mix. Everywhere else its about £6 inclusive

We try to be as competitive as we can with pricing however with the cost of building materials increasing our prices may differ from other merchants. Please let us know if there is anything else you need and I will see if I can help with the pricing moving forward.
