About Us
Alloway Timber & Builders Merchants was founded in 1971 by Joe Alloway (senior). He started the business from the back garden of his parents’ house in Fulham and in 1973 he expanded by opening our Putney Branch, where we still trade from today.
Our Purpose
We offer an impressive range covering softwoods, MDF, hardwoods, skirtings, and architraves, to aggregates, blocks, bricks, and lintels. In essence, all the materials you need for your construction project from start to finish, delivered via our extensive fleet including crane lorries.

New Customer Experience- Putney Branch - Thank you Sophie
I found this company whilst Web browsing as I was looking for some building blocks.
Placed my order on Sunday night. Got a call on Monday morning with an update.: Stock unavailable at their branch. Sophie already done her homework and was able to tell me that they were available in the Kingston branch and they will be doing the delivery.
The delivery driver was very polite and considerate. He called on the day to ask where to off load goods.
Will definately use this company again.
Great team effort.

Made an online order at maybe 6pm. At 7pm I was contacted by a lady (sorry, forgot the name). Super helpful and the delivery was the next morning.

Sheet material all good both OSB & Ply
BUT treated 45 x 95 wood NOT so good -
2 off 6 twisted unusable, 2 quite bowed.
Staff communication on delivery good, told me it would be a day late early !
