I can’t speak highly enough of them. The whole team were amazing.
From the moment we were picked up at the airport, to standing on the top of the mountain, we knew we were in safe hands.
Everything was organised perfectly, and we felt like we were climbing with good friends rather than a Company.

​Kessy (The Camp Master): Kessy is a wizard of logistics. Every time we rolled into camp, everything was perfect. From fixing tents to the incredible gesture of wiping down our shoes, he made sure we were comfortable and ready for the next day.

Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro is a monumental challenge, but thanks to the incredible team at Altezza, it became the experience of a lifetime. Standing on the "Roof of Africa" was unforgettable, but it was the people who got us there that truly made the journey special.

For our group of six, we had an incredible crew of 33 people, including guides and porters. While every single person played an essential role in our success, we want to highlight a few who truly made a difference for us.

Frances: A true "mountain goat" who knows Kilimanjaro inside and out. His experience was invaluable—from predicting weather shifts with uncanny accuracy to timing our treks perfectly to avoid crowds on the trail and at the summit.
Amos: Extremely knowledgeable about every detail of the mountain. He provided fascinating insights into the trail while always prioritizing our safety.

Good Luck: A constant "happy spirit." From sharing his marathon stories to legendary mountain tales, he knew exactly how to engage us and make even the most brutal hikes feel fun.

Paulo: An upcoming guide and the definition of reliable. Whether he was carrying our packs, filling water, or just showing up the second we needed him, his support was unwavering.

The Best Mountain Hospitality

Abdulaziz (The Chef): I didn’t think it was possible to eat this well at high altitude! We never lost our appetites thanks to his "mountain gourmet"—from surprise pizzas to crispy French fries.

Ramadan (Our Server): Ramadan was incredible. He made sure every meal and tea was served piping hot, which is no small feat in the cold. The highlight was his kindness after our summit; he actually carried a bottle of fresh hibiscus juice all the way up the crazy Barafu Wall to meet us.

Kessy (Camp Master): An amazing camp master who took care of every single detail at the campsite. Everything was perfectly organized from the moment we arrived each afternoon.
The Sanitation Team: A special shout out to the two porters who worked tirelessly to ensure our washrooms were clean every single day. It made the experience so much more comfortable.

Hakuna Matata!

Altezza did an incredible job getting our group of 10 up Killamanjaro! The 4 core guides (Nolasco, Stanley, Modest, and Hamza) where knowledgeable, very attentive, and dedicated to getting all of us up the mountain safely! The food was great and the camp was always setup before we got to camp. They were all very efficient with great attention to details.

We hiked up the Lemosho route, a great way to acclimate to the altitude while sight seeing all of the scenery Killamanjaro has to offer.

When you are offered the option for a personal portable toilet, take it! It should not even be an option.

Altezza was AMAZING!!!!!!!!! They made our group feel incredibly safe and comfortable on our 6-day trek up Kilimanjaro. From delivering tea and coffee to our rooms every morning to the hot, delicious, and nutritious meals throughout the entire trek they went above and beyond in every way possible. Our lead guides (Victor, Jonas, Emmanuel, and Neema) were knowledgeable and patient. The guides, kitchen crew, and porters provided consistent motivation, helping us reach the summit when it seemed impossible while always keeping our health and well being top of mind. The entire Altezza team was professional and welcoming from start to finish and we highly recommend booking a trip with them!

Alezza Travel was amazing from the moment we made our deposit until the trip was complete. The guides are top notch and put safety first, were educational, and FUN. We were a group of nine ranging in age from 21 to 65. Everyone had a great time, we all summited (one team, one dream) and Altezza accommodated the needs of every person in the group. There were lots of pleasant surprises from the food, personalized mugs and more. A truly first-class operation. We chose Altezza from a friend’s recommendation who was a.previous guest and the recommendation was spot on. I, in turn, wholeheartedly recommend Altezza.

The entire organization of the trip with Altezza was absolutely smooth and professional from the very beginning. Communication was efficient and reliable, with urgent matters handled quickly via WhatsApp and additional correspondence by email. Responses were consistently prompt, proactive, and exceptionally friendly — in many cases, questions were addressed before they even needed to be asked. The overall planning was clear, transparent, and well structured, creating a strong sense of trust and reassurance right from the start.

The trip itself was outstanding. From arrival to summit, everything was handled with a high level of professionalism and care. The guides, porters, and the entire team were incredibly warm, attentive, and genuinely committed to ensuring safety and comfort at all times. Their experience and structured guidance made it possible to fully focus on the experience without unnecessary concerns. The food was excellent, well-balanced, and plentiful; careful attention was paid to proper nutrition, sufficient hydration, and maintaining the strength required to successfully complete each day of the climb. I would highly recommend Altezza without reservation and could not have imagined a more pleasant or better organized journey to Kilimanjaro.

I completed the Kilimanjaro trek with the Altezza Group and I genuinely could not have asked for a better experience. From start to finish, the team were exceptionally thorough, professional and caring.

The medical checks were regular and taken seriously throughout the trek, which immediately built confidence. Every member of staff was outstanding. The guides, porters and chefs all worked seamlessly together, and it was clear that safety and wellbeing were their absolute priority.

My partner became unwell during the climb and the way the team handled it was remarkable. Two of the guides stayed with him, took care of him, and carried his bag for a significant part of the route without hesitation. On summit night, when the climb became extremely challenging, the guides went above and beyond again by carrying our bags all the way to the top in addition to their own. Their strength, selflessness and determination were extraordinary.

The facilities exceeded expectations. The toilets were clean, well maintained and far better than anticipated. The food was another highlight. The variety was impressive, with different meals every day, and the chefs were genuinely creative. Not once did we feel bored or unwell from the food, which says a lot at altitude.

The guides, including Abraham, Julius, Abdullah and Calvin, were all outstanding. Knowledgeable, reassuring, good humoured and highly attentive. Their instructions were clear and disciplined, and because we followed them closely, we acclimatised well and stayed healthy. We reached the summit safely and, just as importantly, descended safely with no injuries.

Kilimanjaro is not a casual hike. It is demanding and can be dangerous if not managed properly. The Altezza Group handled every aspect with professionalism and care, turning what could have been overwhelming into a once in a lifetime experience. They made the journey feel safe, supported and truly special.

I cannot recommend them highly enough. 10 out of 10 across the board.

We recently climbed Kilimanjaro on the 7 day Machame route and I honestly believe climbing Kili with Altezza is one of the best experiences you can have. The senior guide was a man called Elia and him and his team are absolute professionals. They are some of the toughest and kindest people you can find anywhere and will support you in any way possible to help you achieve your goal of summiting the highest mountain in Africa. We were looked after so well throughout by a team of absolute legends. The chefs even made me a big cake on my birthday which was totally unexpected. Special thanks to Dickson and Kassim who helped me on summit night when I was struggling. Thank you gentlemen!

We planned a Kilimanjaro hike for Feb. 2026. We thoroughly researched trekking companies with an excellent reputation.
After that process, we selected Altezza. And what a good choice it has been!

First, all of your (online) communication is with ONE person. All your questions and requests are handled by the same person.
What a delight! In comparison to the support process of many other companies. Our agent was Kristina, and she was and is a delight and has a true customer care heart.

The booking and all information was extremely smooth and all online. Sadly, just a week before our departure to Tanzania, a 'silent' heart infection was discovered at my wife, and we had to cancel the whole trip. And even then, Altezza was fully cooperating and showed understanding. Within days, we had a full refund (minus $200 deposit that 'stands' for a future booking). I can wholeheartedly recommend this company to every traveller planning to visit Tanzania.

Above and Beyond is what comes to mind in capturing my Tanzanian venture with Altezza. Just returned from my week-long safari in and it was just an incredible experience, all thanks to the professionalism with which Altezza runs its operations.
Going on an African Safari had always been a bucket list item for me. When it finally came time to explore making it happen, Altezza came across as a top contender. It seemed to offer an enriching experience within a reasonable travel budget. I will admit - even in committing to the Safari - I was skeptical at first because never had I invested in an experience like this... and did so from overseas. I was both excited and cautious. All I can say is that Altezza was fantastic.
During the planning phase of the trip - Nadia (our rep) was so responsive to every concern and question I had relative to the plans. She made sure I was completely informed about every aspect of the trip, as well as made sure we were prepared for the trip with all of the things we needed to know. Nadia was extremely accommodating and thorough. She handled everything so professionally and I felt adequately prepared for the trip.
When we arrived at Kilimanjaro airport at 1:00am, we were thrilled to be met by our very friendly driver Pascal.
We spent 4 days exploring Tarangire, Ngorogoro, and the Serengeti. Our guide - Hussein - was exceptional. Such a nice man who is passionate about what he does, which was made evident to us by the way he narrated the Safari experience for us. He went out of his way to teach us about the landscape, the animals, and the culture. I was super-impressed by his knowledge, which made the experience enriching for both me and my daughters. He went out of his way to be make this a wonderful experience for us and we could not thank him enough. We will be keeping in touch with Hussein as we made a new friend on our trip. Each day was filled with new discoveries!
From the accommodations to the food - all absolutely outstanding. I loved the accommodations - they were perfect and made the safari experience that much more enriching. My favorite morning was staying in the Narudi Tent camp and waking up in the am to catch the sunrise in the Serengeti - stunning!
As with many trips - there are logistical questions along the way. The Altezza customer support group was outstanding. The customer service group was timely responsive to any and all questions that came up. They were great!
This was a trip I dreamed about... and when it came time to make it happen, I was cautious. Altezza made it happen, which is why I entitled my review Above and Beyond - because that is what they do.

I did the Kilimanjaro Lemosho Route with Altezza from 21 August 2024, and it was an incredible experience, made truly special by the amazing team who supported us every step of the way.

* Eliakim brought such a spiritual, grounding presence to the group and was endlessly patient.
* Remi was a quiet rock, so consistent and reliable. His steady help really made a difference in getting me to the summit.
* Kaffum did an excellent job with security, keeping our belongings safe and secure throughout the trek, which gave us peace of mind.
* Albert was a fantastic guide, confident, calm, and reassuring. I always felt like I was in safe hands.
* Jackson brought so much joy to the experience, offering great fun with his singing and dancing, and stepping in with support when I needed it most.
* Honesty has a beautiful singing voice that uplifted everyone, especially on summit day: ‘Zaina… Zaina… Zaina… Zaina…’

The food was beyond expectations. Malaki, the chef, along with Pascal and Steven, managed to serve up delicious meals in the toughest conditions. Being greeted with tea and coffee each morning by Pascal and Steven was such a thoughtful touch.

Little things stood out like the table with the red cloth, where the team would be waiting with biscuits, tea, and coffee to celebrate along the way. It felt like a mirage in the best way, such a warm surprise that kept our spirits high. And how porters would even bring water on summit day, everything felt so considered and taken care of.

And I’ll always remember Emmanuel’s words of encouragement: “You are strong. You can do it.” It meant more than I can say in that moment.

I’m deeply grateful to the entire Altezza team for their care, professionalism, and heart. Highly recommend them to anyone ready for this incredible journey.

We have just returned from a trip with Altezza Travel (Kilimanjaro climb and safari) and cannot recommend this company highly enough.
From making an initial inquiry we had access to a real person (Anastasia) via WhatsApp. Throughout the booking she responded to every little query immediately and thoroughly. When we were in Tanzania she kept in contact too. Nothing was too much trouble.
Altezza are the most organised and helpful company I have ever come across. Everything runs like clockwork and there are so many added extras that they don't shout about, they just do them.
Unfortunately I didn't quite make it to the summit of Kilimanjaro as I developed pulmonary edema. The guides (Richard and Starson) were fantastic and got me off the mountain quickly. Altezza were straight onto my insurance company, arranging a helicopter rescue and when I got to hospital, a rep (Leila) was waiting for me. Starson and Leila stayed by my side the whole time and had a hotel booked in case I didn't need to be admitted. My luggage had already been collected and was in a car waiting to take me to a hotel. They paid my hospital and pharmacy bill and then invoiced us a few days later - no pressure and grateful thanks when we reimbursed them. I didn't have to worry about a thing. The following day a car picked me up and drove me to the mountain gate to meet my partner. Leila, Starson, Richard and Anastasia have all kept in contact - checking how I am.
The safari was much the same. Luxurious cars, a fantastic and friendly guide (Emmanuel), everything running on time.
Most importantly, Altezza clearly treat their employees well. We heard numerous times that everyone wants to work for them. In a country were conditions can be tough and standards not always followed, Altezza appear to be leading the way.
We have travelled a lot, used a lot of companies over the years, and have never come across a company like Altezza. They should run business courses on customer service.
Thank you to the whole company and especially those mentioned above and the many others who looked after us, made the trip incredible and kept impressing us every day.
