Customer service is an actual joke with this company, as others have said contacted on both WhatsApp and Web chat asking about a parcel and how AnPost procedures work with regards to their sms text updates, both times the agent just closed the chat without answering any questions.

As many mentioned, Anpost is outrageous, useless and unhelpful.
I ordered an item from the UK. Got 2 notifications from Anpost in my mail box to pay for customs and a Ridiculous admin fees of €6.95!! It's more than the customs fees.
A week later, contacted them and they say item will take 5-7 business days. Nothing arrived!
Another week passed and contacted them and they said there's delays...
10 days later still nothing!!! Contacted them and they said I have to contact sender to check with British post and customs there!! Lmao at this stage.
I wait until end of the month and just hope my item shows up.....
Ridiculous high fees and useless service from Anpost!

Although destination address was clearly visible on the package A Pest delivered it back to my own address. I wish An Pest would hire people who could read it would make things more efficient.

My package from Amazon passed through Customs and was in Dublin on 12 May. I was told that delivery would take place 15 May. I received a note from An Post on the afternoon of 15 May that my package had been sent to the wrong delivery office in Portlaoise - I live in Dublin. When I queried as to when An Post would rectify this mistake, I was told it would be 7 working days before delivery would take place. It is now 22 May and An Post have said that the Package is lost!!! The package in question is approximately 1 metre by 1 metre by .5 metres in size! How can they lose a package of that size? Honestly, could it have been stolen? I do not know because An Post refuse to assist with locating my package. Terrible, terrible customer service.

I got a message from An Post advising my parcel would be delivered the following day. However that same morning I heard a knock on my door, went to answer it, saw the delivery guy already walking down the road without even looking back to see if I had opened my front door. My package was left in plain view on my door step , with full access to rob if so desired, I live on a busy main road for all to view my front door. Also I have an account with an post and state clearly a safe spot for my parcels. This was ignored.

An post is light years behind modern shipping companies methods anno 2026.
Normally one is able to follow each step from turning inn, sorting out, to further distribution etc.
Each day for the last week the shop where I made my purchase has been in contact with An post and each day they still gets no help, no answer of where the parcel actually is.
The shop has filled out delay form etc.
This is far out not acceptable.
Further An post informed me today that my parcel was send as standard, which is not true unless a standard to Denmark is euro 22. I guess not.
To your reply: very arrogant I must say. “To review this fully”
An id number is what is needed to review further in ALL other companies (DHL, UPS, DPD, GLS etc. )
We have supplied you with that.
What further do you need????

I Purchased next day delivery at 10.36 yesterday morning for delivery within Ireland. Today at 11am am told it is still in a container at the sorting office... won't be delivered today, chat agent then hung up with a canned message about 'not a guaranteed service, parcel volumes etc' lovely service.

Each time we send to Ireland from England the parcels are returned with no explanation. DO NOT use Royal Mail to ship to Ireland as they partner with AN Post, an absolute shower of a Company

I would like to make a formal complaint regarding the handling of my parcel and the extremely poor delivery experience I recently had with An Post.
My parcel was falsely marked as “delivery attempted / recipient not at home” despite the fact that I was home all day waiting for the delivery. Nobody called, rang the bell or left any delivery notice.
After contacting customer support, I was clearly informed by an agent that the parcel would be redelivered the following day. Based on this information, I took another day off work and again stayed home waiting for the parcel.
Later, my local postman confirmed that no further deliveries would be arriving that day, meaning I wasted a second day off work because of incorrect information provided by support.
In the end, I was forced to collect the parcel myself from the DSU depot despite paying for home delivery.
What made the situation even worse was the complete lack of communication and organisation. When I finally arrived to collect the parcel, staff initially could not even locate it.
This entire experience was extremely frustrating, stressful and completely unacceptable. Customers should not have to repeatedly take time off work, chase parcels themselves and receive conflicting information simply to receive a delivery they already paid for.
I would appreciate this complaint being formally logged and reviewed.

Terrible work of the courier and the whole Anpost in general. My package was not delivered due to the fault of the courier, he did not even try to contact me for delivery. I had to go to the pick-up point on my own and pick up my parcel CB136563403IE

Extremely slow and irresponsible, seven working days the shipment LY806012803IE does not move.
The status is still " We have it"
An Post website says, that the shipment will be delivered to another country in 5-7 days.

So coolock/santry residents need to go to baldoyle and raheny, harmostown residents will need to travel to finglas in the near further. How does this make sense. Do the managers at top level actually know these areas. First off there is a lot of elderly in the raheny area, second off if they need to move harmonstown sorting office can they not move it to baldoyle or would that make to much sense. They need to fire David Redmond and anyone else making these stupid decisions

On March 3 2026 I mailed, tracked, a package from the main Post Office in Westport to Portland, Oregon. Several inquiries to An Post were answered by various reasons during April/March for the delayed mail: they blamed the customs, the weather, even the USPS. It finally showed up in Portland on April 18 2026 (the An Post tracking stopped after only a few days). I filed a delayed item form on 22 April 2026 to claim postage, the legal An Post timespan being 12 days for international mail, and received a reference number. On MAY 19 2026 I contacted An Post's WhatsApp to inquire why I had neither received the €22 due me or any update. They told me that my case would be looked at on 26 June 2026. As a visitor to Westport in March, I trusted the Post Office to deliver this package with no whining or excuses. How wrong I was...
