On Wednesday morning, I received an SMS informing me that my parcel would be delivered the following working day. What a plot twist — absolutely nothing happened. Nothing happened on Friday either, and while it is your charming little tradition to at least send a notification on Saturday morning warning me to drag myself to the post office on Monday, today even that modest courtesy was apparently beyond you.
Upon contacting your WhatsApp infoline — because apparently that's where civilisation has ended up — I was enlightened with the revelation that the message I received on Wednesday was purely *informational*. Just information. Information I would otherwise never have obtained, if one completely ignores the seller's app, the tracking app, and the An Post app itself. And this *information* is apparently telling me that the first working day after Wednesday is... the following Wednesday? Fascinating. Truly. A new frontier in the space-time understanding of the working week.
It is, I must say, quite remarkable that in every single case of a delivery, the information provided turns out to be *premature* — because without fail, some exceptional circumstance arises to prevent the delivery from actually occurring. A 100% failure rate. Absolutely outstanding consistency, An Post. I take my hat off. I can only imagine the relentless avalanche of disasters, unforeseen events, and acts of God that descend upon your organisation on a daily basis. You must be absolutely exhausted. My deepest sympathies.
Does it not occur to you that such notifications are, at best, entirely useless and, at worst, actively misleading? Would it not be more honest — more *humane*, even — to inform your customers in the following manner: *"We have your parcel and we may, God willing, deliver it to you sometime before the heat death of the universe."* Why, An Post, do you insist on torturing your customers with these messages?

My problems with A Post just continue and nothing ever improves. 2 parcels in waiting for now, all shipped from Dublin to a Dublin address. One has been in An Post’s possession for a week and still no sign of a delivery date. The other one is on day 5 and no sign of a delivery date. Customer support is absolutely useless and just reuse the same line on everyone about processing delays. If you’re months having processing delays you might want to look into this no? From the customer side it looks like nothing is being done and you’re just content on providing a bad service.

I get a lot of parcels from Anpost, generally good, but I’ve been worried about getting deliveries more with recent experiences, mainly the sorting system…. I have an urgent parcel using express hoping to get it yesterday, but it hasn’t been updated since handed to the post office, customer service just all saying the same thing about high volume of mail but that’s why I paid for express to get my parcel sorted quicker.

Update 11/5: finally on the way after two days for an express within Ireland, then check this morning again said it’s sent to the wrong delivery office…
Update 12/5: no movement
13/5: no movement, meanwhile a parcel sent from 11th is out for delivery today, this express sent from 7th still nobody knows where it is!
14/5: out for delivery, but never came!

More missing post all shipped between the 8th/9th of April not turned up in Ireland or Europe again. Costing us money in refunds.Shocking service
Update 11/05
You haven't requested anything on this one yet and we are still waiting on a refund on an item shipped Feb 5th tracked and registered and insured and you couldn't locate but sent us a check just for the postage cost and closed the case which we had to get reopened so you could refund the full value of insurance.

I have had no notification from A Post to inform me of the whereabouts of my parcel - I have had hassle free experience with A Post but this situation has put a stain on this experience.
My last update was 22/04/26 to confirm A Post have my parcel and will process it for delivery.
No resolution or investigation has been provided other than parcel may be lost and that’s it. How can a parcel be with you and magically be lost when in your possession??

If I can give zero stars I would give them 0 instead of 1.
This company become a joke since Fastway couriers bankrupt. Before that they were a very decent company.
Before they ring your bell to at least notice you when they arrived with your package.
But now no notice and when they leave parcel they just take a picture and that is it.
Problem is that anyone can take my parcel and from my neighbours as well.
It happened 2 times in past 1 week that someone robbed my parcels.
Then you contact their costumer service and only what they do is to show you picture that they delivered and that you should contact your seller to sort things out as they can't do nothing else. So basically their costumer service is useless.
From now on will just avoid companies which use Anpost as their courier as then is better that I use my car or other couriers to be sure that I will get my parcel.

An post have lost a package that I posted 10 days ago.the package only had to travel from mayo to Dublin, when I try to talk to custermer service using the phone numbers that are on my recipe they all come not recognised. Wat a terrible lot they are. And say thay can justify the extortionate cost of the service
Well I can only give them 1 out of 10.

**Update: They reached out and resolved the delivery issue. Although it didn’t arrive in time for when I needed it, the issue has now been sorted.
It's now becoming usual getting notifications of "we couldn't deliver your item as no response at address" when I'm at home deliberately waiting for them. It's so frustrating because it seems the delivery team is not even trying! Also, in order to leave the collection note, they need to access the building and leave it on the mail box, which is exactly the same as leaving the actual parcel so it makes absolutely no sense!!! If it was my call I'd never use AnPost again, sadly the majority of the ecom sites are still relying on them. If you are one of them, avoid this courier at all costs!

Over the years I’ve had some positive but mostly negative experiences with Anpost. Once I bought their prepaid packaging online, and they did not attach the “postage paid” stamp. At that time, I wasn’t aware that was even necessary, as I had emails to prove that I had purchased. One of their employees in Donaghmede refused to accept the email as proof of purchase and make me pay for the package again, and was very rude to me, insinuating that I was trying to pull a fast one on her. Many times I have ordered for collection of my Nespresso pods and Oxfam donations but the postman refuse to collect them (our local postman in The Coast, Baldoyle has a bad reputation amongst the residents for the way he delivers mail). They have also now increased their international stamp over the years from €1.20 to €1.95 and now it is €3.95 to send a CARD. Anpost knows that because it is an essential service that it can charge what it wants, like many government agencies in Ireland it’s gone corrupt and greedy.
Updated to reply: Anpost you requested several details which I have provided you with. I also have the reference number of the complaint case I raised about the incident in Donaghmede back in October 2022, the case was never resolved by you. I have not received a reply on your WhatsApp channel. I await any form of response from you regarding this.

Shipped on 13th and no updates since. Called, emailed, messaged through webchat, and raised an investigation and they don't seem to care. Something is very off with AnPost, either stealing parcels or just have very incompetent staff. They cannot provide any information or further details about my parcel, and simply are telling me to take it as a loss. Very poor customer service, if you call be prepared to be charged for international calls as they love to put you on hold.

Send a package by registered post on Jan 2nd from Meath to Dublin. Never arrived. Only got a fraction back of the value of the goods, after hounding them.
Also just discovered that another important application form sent from Meath to Louth has not reached its destination….sent 2 weeks ago. So had to apply again.
Extremely disappointed and frustrated.
