I also wish that I had read the reviews ahead of time. Their customer Service is non existent! I have an item that I was hoping to replace with a different size and the instructions were to call first. I have called numerous times in the past week and sent 2 emails, with no return calls or emails. Since there is no one answering, I will return the item with my fingers crossed that I will receive a refund.

They take your money immediately then you never hear from them again!!!!! Don't buy from them!

Time for a larger lawsuit apparently. Allegedly, they find it very hard to get back to paying customers in a timely manner if at all it seems and in my experience.
They ask for their customers to be patient and kind. Is this company being kind by taking people's money immediately, and then crickets unless you hound them, making the whole purchase experience so frustrating? This is a huge and wealthy company! They cannot do better than this? I call that very unkind to the public. Disrespectful of people's time and money. I placed an order a week ago and heard nothing but an email confirmation WITH an order number and then of course they deducted 276.00 out of my account immediately. Then when I went to website to track the order a week later after hearing nothing, they said ORDER DOES NOT EXIST!!!! April Cornell stole money out of my account the week before as soon as I clicked buy yet does not have the kindness or respect to return emails or phone messages after a week. I have to start a fraud investigation now with my bank to get my money back. I'm sure April and her sons have a good life taking your money and then never delivering. Don't order from this company. Their customer service doesn't exist apparently. You call and call, and they have a message saying we are soo busy leave us a message and we will call you back. Apparently, they have no intention of calling you back, especially if you read the other reviews. It's scary they are alllowed to conduct their business like this. Don't give this company any of your hard earned money. They will take it, spend it and not deliver your merchandise if ever, or ever talk to you about it again!!! They hope you will give up after they steal your money NOT! One reviewer simply gave up! Read all the reviews of people trying to work with this company to no avail. They need to be investigated in my view and we are starting it with my bank after reading the rest of these reviews. I have left 10 messages and emailed them as well. The only info is my order does not exist. But it sure exists as a line item deduction in my bank account and on the confirmation email I got right after they took my money. This is fraud in my view and I.hqvr to add allegedly, and we will get our money back! They cannot get away with this.

I love April Cornell table linens but…

I love April Cornell table linens but the clothing is another story. I was very disappointed with the fabric and color of the dress I ordered. Then I was so very frustrated with their return policy! There is no way to get through to them. I used the chat option. They finally responded but didn't answer my question. But they did give me an address if I had further questions.So I wrote to that address, pushed send and got an error message! It was the address they gave me! Some one is not paying attention to important details. That is the same issue with the fabric they use in the clothing, very flimsy cloth.

The customer service is terrible..

The customer service is terrible... you cannot get any access to their online * start return* ... if you put in the information, they ask for ... the only response you get is we could not find that order!!
So, I decided to call customer service, they're so happy to assist you, that they will not answer the phone and also, they will not call you back when a message was left for them, and while I cannot get a prepaid label to return the item, I will send it back on my own .... the dress I ordered was not even close in color to the dress in the catalog, the quality and design is not worth the price I paid.

Looks nice. But fit and material less quality then paid for

These dresses look and fit exactly as anticipated but the quality of the fabric is not what I expected. One dress I anticipated to feel like a med heaviness linen-cotton (what the picture looked like) but instead was almost as thin as gauze. The other made me feel hot and uncomfortable immediately as it is some sort of mesh material, likely plastic, and it smelled like some chemical when I opened it. I feel the quality does not match the price.

Wish I had read the reviews before purchasing, terrible customer support so I agree, DITTO. No return phone calls after two days and three messages. Also no responses to emails from their customer support team. Buyer beware.

I am sad to have to add to the negative…

I am sad to have to add to the negative experiences with April Cornell. I read the review that said, "Nightmare". I have to say, "Ditto".
I ordered three dresses. Could NOT get them to send me a return label, so sent two back at my own expense. Have yet to see a credit come my way after two weeks. The third dress I needed to exchange for a different size. Was told I would be emailed a label and directions. Again, after three weeks, nothing. No returned calls or emails. I am now beyond my 30 day allowable exchange period.
I have given up on them and am keeping the one dress that is slightly too large. Will not feel great wearing it.
This was my second time ordering from AC. I was excited because their catalogs promise such beautiful items found nowhere else. The service made this such a stressful experience I will never order from them again. This is not what I wanted, as I like their style.
If you are absolutely positive about your size and KNOW you'll be happy with the fabric, color, length, etc. then go ahead and order. If you even have an idea you might need customer support, don't place your order. It's not worth the time and worry. You'll be out your money, for sure.
Sorry to have to write this, but felt I must share the caution.

Zero response from customer service for an exchange. Multiple phone calls with the same recording about how their call volume was exceptionally busy. Multiple messages and emails, still no response. Finally gave up and returned what I had hope to exchange.

No customer service - we’ll take your money at your risk.

Have ordered from this company for several years and initially had great service. The last two orders were nightmare experiences. On one, they mixed up my orders with another customer. Several months later, it was resolved. Currently, an error occurred and I received 2 identical orders. Have attempted to contact them daily (for 5 days) by the number posted, as well as sending an email. Have not received any response. Does this company still exist? They seem willing to take the money but not to deal with customer service issues.

I ordered several items and the delivery was slow. They sent me some of them and back ordered another product without telling me. And now I cannot get an answer from them or a cancellation. My next step will be to go to my credit card company and lodge a complaint.

Worst customer service I have ever…

Worst customer service I have ever seen. My order was shipped missing one item that I was still charged for. Tried calling them for three days but it is impossible to reach a live person, they don’t even have one person who answers the phone, all calls go directly to voicemail. When someone eventually emailed me back I was promised the item would be sent out, then I received a notice by email they were refunding my credit card instead. So now I have one of two matching cushions. This is a terrible company, don’t give them any business until they start proving adequate customer service.

No surprises, they follow their policies, good customer service when you are polite, great clothes

The clothing is high quality as well, made to last. I also noticed that their return policies and shipping policies are posted very clearly, with notes at checkout. Now, I can only speak of my experience. I have purchased high quality clothing, and I have also returned things that don't fit or that I just didn't like (some of which were attic sale items, so only available for store credit). While it did take them a long time to process the refunds (and store credit), I found them to be very responsive and reasonable via email. I even lost my receipt and order form once during a return and returned nearly a month after the return window because I'd misplaced the package in my home. I emailed them the truth and asked if they'd still take it and they were very sweet about making an exception. I have also found that they aren't as great at answering the phone, but it seems like they are very willing to get back to me via email and were more than reasonable on two occasions (I've had 4 orders with multiple items, 2 returns processed). I really don't begrudge them in communication delays since they do get to you eventually (I don't think we should feel entitled to instant service from places that aren't mega corps like Amazon!), nor do I begrudge them their policies, which are reasonable for a company their size and very clearly posted all over the site.

Very disappointing attitude and service

Me too! Very disappointed at the attitude of the company. Great image but it falls very short. I kept emailing the company from the UK to ask if they could gift wrap with a message to my family who live in the US and after several emails they eventually replied they could not help.
I wonder who owns such a dreadful company? Very disappointing.

Very poor customer service

I wish I had read all of the reviews before making my purchase. I ordered a corduroy dress. The write up indicated it had long sleeves, which it did not. I promptly returned it. After two weeks I contacted them as I had not received my refund. I was told that due to many returns it takes approximately 3 weeks to process the return. It is now over 1 month. This is very poor customer service and I will not be ordering again from this company.

I have been waiting for a refund for over a month. The product I received was not the colors that was shown in the online picture. I had to pay shipment costs to return and it was their problem for almost false advertising. I’m a senior and need my refund. I hope Customer Service reads this and I hope potential buyers don’t waste their money

April Cornell has no self respect

I have had the same experience with customer service not calling me back--waiting 2 months still. I called this morning, left another msg & emailed. Nothing again. Finding damage in my clothes, no responses. I was referring people to the store near my work. I will cease to do that and share my story need be.

Tried to order a gift for my sister

I ordered a gift for my sister. Afterward it occurred to me that I should call customer service to ensure the price wouldn't be included on any invoice included with the order. Called customer service twice ... only option was to leave my name, phone number and order #. with promise of a call back. Didn't get a call back, so I called their store in Vermont directly. Then got an email today that gift would be shipped in one to two weeks! Sent a reply expressing surprise and consternation. Then I went online and read the dreadful reviews. I sent a second email asking that my order be cancelled. This will be my first and last attempt to purchase from April Cornell. (Disappointing because my sister likes their products.) It appears April Cornell is not equipped to handle online orders despite reports that such orders represent 1/3 of their sales.
