Went in there just now and he helped a lot. He put the hooks in the lures for me and gave me lots of tips, great customer service and amazing prices. Overall it's a great shop.

Art of Fishing is a specialist lure fishing shop in Wadebridge, Cornwall, run by Ben Field. I had a terrible experience with them. When I bought the product, I was told it would arrive within a month, but after 3 months they still kept telling me to “wait a little longer.” In the end, I decided to ask for a refund, but I never received any response. I decided to contact my bank, and they refunded my money.

Hi Vasile. I’m so, so sorry about your experience with this one. I’m not quite sure what happened regarding the refund as that one should have been sorted immediately from our side, and usually would have been. So I’m just so sorry if there was a lack of contact for some reason. I’ll look at it myself internally and see what went wrong.
Huge apologies too for the delay you experienced. This winter has admittedly been a really, really tough one with regards getting stock in from some of the suppliers, so there have been a few annoying issues overall with delays I must admit. Far more than normal and then be found it mega stressful being stuck in the middle of it all too. After a point in the winter I actually stopped taking any preorders at all as it was just proving impossible to get most stock in the usual timely manner. Luckily it’s fixed things a bit, but still frustrating with us not being able to get hold of so much stock that we would certainly love to.
Anyway, I’m back in control of all contacts myself now so can be more in the loop and able to ensure I know what’s actually happening with any issues out there. For now, please accept my sincerest of apologies, and naturally I accept the damage has been done. But if I can ever make it up to you, I promise I will.

I accidentally broke one of my Tailwalk Eginn rod tips back in 2022. Ben didn’t have a replacement in stock but he gave me the top off his own rod at no charge
Where else are you going to get that kind of customer care?

After my last review regarding the service from the Art of Fishing. I'm now happy to say my rod arrived this morning. Not only that, as the rod I wanted was out of stock until the end of February Ben sent me the 2024 up-grade from the new Tailwalk Crimson range without any extra charge. What a fantastic company with a fantastic man leading the way for other retailers in the market to follow. So, A big thank you Ben and all your staff. Best wishes for 2024, Derek

Please don’t waste your time visiting Art of fishing their shop isn’t open anymore.
I have been here four times the last couple of weeks and it is always shut even though google says it’s open.
Such a shame I had high hopes after reading the reviews, but sadly waisted my time.
Since found out you can supposedly view rods by appointment but have to pay £10 upfront, No thank you. The Website is rubbish, nothing in stock and hardly any choice. Such a shame as the previous reviews were good but from my experience. Art of fishing is a total waste of time. Do yourself a favour and don’t bother unless you want to be disappointed.

Hi Mark. I’m really sorry for the inconvenience you’ve suffered lately. We’ve been publicised as much as we can all over the place lately about the fact we shut a month or so ago. The open hours have all been updated as well and as many descriptions posted everywhere, as much as I can manage. We are now online only - with the one differing option available for those who are looking at more specialist rods so that they can book a time to come and see us. The £10 is refunded if no purchase is made or used as credit if they need anything. We’re not in the building during any set hours so this should hopefully work quite well in future. The reason the website doesn’t have any stock - and hasn’t had much over the past couple of years is simply because of the shop… with the hours and time that the physical shop has always taken up, it’s meant I’ve not had any time at all to work on the website. Now that the shop is closed, I can finally work on the website. It’s obviously just going to take a short while to get the new site finished, now I finally have the time. Progress is going great and hopefully it’ll all be up before Christmas. As you’ve been able to tell, the website has been absolute rubbish over the past couple of years - a direct result of me just being spread too thin. And obviously only about 1% of our actual stock has been making it up there. We actually have loads of new stock at the moment that I’m in the process of plugging in to the database for the new site. I knew we’d get a 1* review at some point with the change of opening hours and unfortunate impossibility of being able to let the whole world know what was happening. As much as I’ve tried. I’m genuinely sorry again. Ben

there was a considerable lead time on the Rod i wanted.
Not a problem with that!
There could of been a better line of comms though, ie :- let me know when the product had arrived at AOF shop, let me know when it was shipped to me and ETA
Other than that, service was tip top

Recently bought two rods from the Apia Foojin RS range, not knowing too much about these rods Ben gave me all the information I needed before deciding on my purchases. Both rods arrived as expected in perfect condition.
