I’d give zero stars if I could

I’d give zero stars if I could! Spent $3000 without a claim. Washing machine broke down and it took the 3 weeks and another $125 for them to tell me they wouldn’t fix it! Instead they’re sending a $350 check—the new washing machine cost twice that! AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!

48 DAYS!

Yep, that's how long it took to fix my leaking washing machine. Absolutely no amount of savings is worth the frustration caused by ARW and their repair company, Appliance Repair Medics. Parts had to be ordered and shipped twice because of a incomplete diagnosis during the first service call. It still took 2 weeks to complete the repair after the date I was told the 2nd shipment was delivered to the repair company. All of this took place from 11/20/2024 - 01/06/2025. Never again! I will be canceling my policy.

Once the initial parts were received and installed, it became clear that an additional part was necessary to complete the repairs. Unfortunately, this resulted in a longer repair time than anticipated.

This company took my money for years…

This company took my money for years and now that i filed a claim for my HVAC, they will only cover $700.00 and my system needs to be replaced. This was a scam the entire time! Run and don’t look back!

AHS has been the worst service and…

AHS has been the worst service and warranty company. My air conditioner went out an early 2023. I requested a home warranty from American home shield and pay the deductible as needed for my contract. However, American home shield sent out a company that was completely sketchy with poor reviews. The technician said all we needed was an evacuator coil replacement However, no quote or diagnosis was given in person or by email after sometime. I called American home shield too receive a status update on the service of the air conditioner and I was told that the company provided a quote and diagnosis of not only they evaporated a coil but several other itemized adjustments. For example, construction, a $600 permit Modifications and such surprising to find out this information due to the contradictory quote and diagnosis the technician told us verbally American home shield was not gonna cover numerous cost up to $3000 and only covering a little over 1000. I asked for the quotes and estimates American home shows refused to review and send me the documentation. They said I needed to go through their contractor and get it the information I requested. After numerous calls to American Home Shirld and receiving nothing but the runaround and someone always need to call me back. There was no resolution I connected with the Better Business Bureau to report my experience in July 23 and American home shield stated they would provide a cash in lieu payout that I agreed to it is now December 20 24 and I have not yet received cash and the payment and I continue to get the runaround my contract with American home shield was preached due to not providing the Cash and Lou payment within 30 days and still seeking resolution for my air conditioner and now the 17 month delay this is a horrible experience and do not recommend this company to anybody if American home shield is reading my review. I hope that this is another effort to reach out to provide resolution. I am paying $50 a month for the past two years and have yet to receive the services within my contract.

Keep getting charged

Taking away to long to repair a washer,so far it been two weeks. Can not get another company to come repair my washer. Have to wait for the first repair guy to send a report.
Did not make a monthly payment,waiting on the repair first(to make sure I don't continue wasting my money) every day .everyday (4 days so far),they try charging my card for different amount. 4 different amounts. Not just once or 2 up to 8 times a day. Try calling but it the weekend no anwser. The first time. They say it automatically doing it. ????but they keep trying.when i never authorized ANY payment..dont waste you money. The customer service is over seas,they only say what on the script. Never go off. Just waste time and money..

Don't waste your money on this warranty

Don't waste your money.

Wall oven broke, took a week to find a technician to come take a look at it. Technician couldn't fix it, took a few days to send report back to ARW.

ARW wouldn't do anything until receiving the technicians report. Now received a week later, they are sending another technician to try and repair (again) and I have to wait another week for this technician to visit to 'hopefully' repair my broken oven. If they cant, i dont know what happens.

So whilst they mess around with admin and going through their slow processes I'm stuck without an oven and unable to cook anything at home - Its now been 2 weeks!

No timelines or urgency from ARW to get it resolved, and no solutions for us to cook in the meantime..

Also when you call and try and speak to someone to escalate a request thats impossible. Only told they can escalate internally by raising it on their system.

I'm just glad it wasn't something serious like a plumbing or gas leak.

Don't waste your money.. I would have just used the money I'd spent on this policy to go buy a new oven.. Would have been much quicker, simpler and easier.

Real estate agent here. Bought a warranty for a client as is typical. ARW kept my card on file and recharged me again as a renewal. They were unable to find me for 45 minutes of looking, and 3 departments as they had NO information except my CC which I did not authorize to be saved. Agents should run from them.

How hard is it to find a plumber for a job?

I've been with this company maybe over 6 months after moving over from American home shield, in my opinion there's no way that a company this big should have a problem finding a plumber to do a simple install I put my claim in last week and this week they keep telling me that they can't find a plumber out of the ones that they deal with near me to take the job and it's just a simple faucet install I asked a "manager " how the process of getting a claim started and she didn't know that and I asked her if she had the list of the plumbers that they deal with in my area she didn't have that information either so I'm dropping them very fast I'm not dealing with them anymore I'm going to go with a different company because these people cannot do their jobs competently and if they are a reputable company no plumber would have a problem doing business with them so maybe they don't have a good reputation and no plumber wants to work with them so never again ARW never again

All they do is take your money and say they don't cover anything

I get that they are a business and want to make money. I have had them for years and every time I call they don't cover anything or I have to pay more than they do to the contractors. I pay every month for their highest plan. You are better off going with one of the bigger companies or directly with contractors.

Last year I had to come out of pocket for a garage door system. Now they only cover 700 on our AC and don't cover the coil.

All they do is take your money!

I ordered the home warranty from this…

I ordered the home warranty from this company two weeks ago. After giving them my credit card and they charged me immediately I happen to look at the contract they sent me and I immediately realized that the person I ordered the home warranty from totally lied to me within 24 hours, I told them to credit my account which they said I had 30 days to decide if I wanted or not with a total refund it’s been over two weeks. They haven’t refunded my money and every time I call them which takes a long time to get through they try talking me into keeping it. This company is the worst to deal with and I went do business with them even if it was free. I am now disputing it on my credit card.

Bad Financial Decision to Enroll

It doesn’t make any financial sense to use this company. After subtracting a $100 deductible, they only pay a maximum of $400 per appliance ($200 if the appliance is over 10 years old). Unfortunately, I discovered these limits after an expensive refrigerator repair. The limits are never clearly disclosed and are nearly impossible to find (ARW’s service rep didn’t even know where I could find them). I would have been better off just putting my money in a savings account. ARW advertises that you will “save thousands” with their coverage, but you would have to file a ridiculously high number of claims every year. Seems like false advertising. I hope I can save someone the headache of dealing with this company by warning them not to sign up.

Jason was great when I canceled and did not try to talk me out of it.

However, when I canceled he did not say how long it would take but gave me a confirmation number and acted like it would be immediate.

17 DAYS later the refund had not shown up so I called customer service and they said it would take 15 minutes due to high call volume which is the same message I get every time. 15 Minutes passed and I kept getting a msg that said 5 more minutes and then the 4th one said 7 minutes and then 2 after that said 10 minutes, so I was on the phone for over 30 minutes before I spoke to someone.

Adin (sp?) was helpful and spoke to billing. They said that my cancelation was effective the day before the renewal on June 25, not on the day I called in (June 10) the final result was that it was going to take 10 more BUSINESS DAYS (read 2 weeks) to get my refund from June 25! It was already over two weeks since I called and now they said it was going to be 2 weeks more. I don't like them hanging on to my money for a month!

Very poor customer service

I called to check on their electrical/plumbing packages, after checking review, which I admit I should have done 1st, decided not to go with them. I called an hour later to cancel my policy, spoke with a person stating his name was Richard and he would not cancel my policy because I would not give him a good enough answer. I told him I had just changed my mind and he kept asking why. I asked for a Supervisor a number of times, but never spoke to one. By then I was very upset and continued to ask him to cancel my policy and then he started what I felt like, bullying me. He refused continually because I would given him and answer. When I told him I was recording the call, then he tried to bribe me with several discounts. It took over 30 minutes for him to agree to cancel my policy, but refused to send me a cancellation email. All he would say is my contract would expire on 17 July 24 after 30 minutes of him bullying me. Addition: on 23 Jun 24, they did refund my money.

My air conditioner stopped working when…

My air conditioner stopped working when we started it up for service this year. We had ARW since November when we were referred by a family member to American Home Shield and accidentally ended up signing up for ARW. It is now end of May… we reported the problem in MARCH- took three days off for their “technicians” to come only for them to no show ALL THREE TIMES. I asked for a new technician and was told I had to pay another $100 service fee even though they acknowledged that they did not show up. Ultimately I call every day- sit on hold for sometimes an hour and beg for a supervisor- they say there isn’t one available but “they’ll call me back”- NOBODY has called and answered our questions. This is a very expensive scam. Look at bbb reviews I wish I had. You’re on hold for an hour but told the whole time your estimated wait is 10 minutes. Man, at $80 a month it would have saved me money to just pay out of pocket with 3 days off, my monthly fees and service fee paid. Not to mention countless hours on hold. Run! As fast as you can! My brother is an attorney so we will get this squared away- but most people are probably left high and dry

I had an Home Warranty with this…

I had an Home Warranty with this company and when I filed a claim on a Sunday, May 13, 2024 for a serious plumbing issue and I found out this company DOESN'T work on Sunday; therefore, my claim didn't get addressed for over 24 hours and then when this company reached back out to me, I was mistreated rudely by multiple "Customer Service Representatives" that would not assist me with the issues I had. I ended up calling American Residential Warranty's "customer care department" to discuss this issue and finally I decided to tell this man that I want to cancel my policy with this company. He responded that he will cancel my policy and hung up on me. I received no confirmation email of any sort that cancelation was completed and I called today and spoke with a man by the name of "John" and he refused to give me the name of his collegue that I spoke with prior and verbally told me that my policy was canceled and "what else did I want from him". When these individuals answer the phone calls from their customers, they indicate the telephone call is being recorded. What is the sense to record the telephone calls if American Residential Warranty listened how their employees treat their customers. I tried getting American Residential Warranty's corporate office contact information from John and he gave me 888-508-8886. Call the number and listen to what he information he told me to call! AND, this company is taking financial information from all sorts of consumers. I will open the doors to have this company researched on.

****PLEASE RESEARCH THIS COMPANY AND THEIR HISTORY PRIOR TO GIVING THEM YOUR CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION****

No matter if you are contacted by their escalations team (MAGGIE), they are argumentative when explaining why their representatives had the right to say what they said to the consumers.
