Unfortunately I am one of the reviewers with a bad experience. I purchased a refurbished MMI prime wireless android auto unit that worked great for about 8 months. At this time the screen went completely blank out of nowhere. Over multiple weeks of troubleshooting the support was unable to figure out the issue and essentially said that I would have to ship the unit back at my own expense for them to possibly find out what the problem is. If they could not I would be forced to purchase a new refurbished unit at the original price I paid for. Personally I think that a $550 (Christmas deal) component meant for the internals of a car should last longer than 8 months and Bimmertech should be more concerned about the quality of their product. With the "your out of luck" attitude I received because the refurbished warranty was only 3 months (makes you think this might happen often) I will Personally be going to one of their competitors that sells a similar product in the future.

Update 9/22/2022 I wanted to update my review with regards to the response from Bimmertech as I don't want it to be misconstrued. The troubleshooting consisted of two weeks worth of pictures, videos, updating, etc. If it was a simple setup issue or connectivity issue they should have been able to assist through their support line. Now to address the "free of charge" diagnosis. Unfortunately it doesn't look like trust pilot allows for screenshots but I turned this down because after my initial rating on this website they rescinded their offer and told me I would now be charged $200 if I didn't comply with their demand to remove my review. I chose to leave this up as I would like to leave an honest opinion of how this company operates for future customers. Keep the above in mind, and good luck with your product.

I bought the video in motion coding and have not been disappointed. The process and set up took about 30 and to download some software.
I love being able to watch music videos or movies as you drive. It's a great feature and makes your car stand out to anyone,especially passengers!

I accidently put my BMW key FOB through the laundry. I contacted BimmerTech to arrange a replacement. The service and support I received was fantastic. The replacement FOB arrived quickly (had to be shipped to Australia), was identical to the original and worked without any issue at all. BimmerTech provided online chat support as well as update email's sand instruction's on how to programme the FOB upon arrival. I would call on Bimmertech again, without hesitation.

Just updated my GPS for my 2016 528i. Once again Bimmer Techs products installed without an issue. It's fantastic when everything goes smoothly. Thank you Bimmer Tech.

Bimmer Tech was great to work with! I used their remote coding to code the auto start stop feature on my BMW to stay off permanently. Overall the process was very straightforward. Remote technician was immediately available at my appointment time and the communication was a breeze during the session. I'd definitely recommend using Bimmer Tech for all your coding needs!

Excellent products. I purchased the NAV update and it was excellent. I was so happy with the ease of use and the product support and communication from BimmerTech, I recently also bought the CarPlay MMI retrofit upgrade and back-up camera. They came with very thorough installation instructions. My car is a 2013 F10 5 series and the BimmerTech updates made it better than new.

I paid $299 for a BimmerTech wireless charger and installed it. However, it would only charge my Pixel 6 Pro for a few minutes and then it would indicate an error with a green/blue flashing light. I contacted BimmerTech and their response was to google it. They found some random discussions about Pixel 6 issues not related to their charger but they didn’t bother to test their charger with a Pixel 6 phone. When I insisted it was a charger issue, they wanted me to send a video of the problem. So I sent them a video of the flashing green/blue light. Then they said they would only exchange the charger for a new one under warranty if I thought the charger was bad. So I ordered a charger from Car Qi Wireless ($70 by the way) and installed it. It worked without a problem. So I asked for a refund and BimmerTech refuses to refund my money or provide a charger that works with my phone. I initially saw the Car Qi charger before buying the BimmerTech charger, but thought I would buy in the US where I would expect better support. Instead Car Qi has a money back guarantee and BimmerTech won’t support their product. I won’t be spending any money with BimmerTech again.

I recently purchased the map update for my 2013 BMW 135is. The expertise and professionalism from BimmerTech was, as usual, top notch. The updated map arrived in the mail ahead of schedule in the form of a beautifully boxed, silver thumb drive. It was a snap to follow the directions and was easily installed by myself, and I’m not exactly tech savvy. It was also great to know that if I had any issues at all, I knew BimmerTech would be there to assist by phone or email and that they stand by their products and services. There is a main road near where I currently live that was not on my navigation system and often my Navi would lead me astray and take me “the long way” if I wasn’t paying attention. Now all the roads all show as they should and it’s like having a new Navi system again that I can trust. Thanks for another great purchase and happy customer!

I wouldn't say the product is perfect but thinking about what the MMi Prime is doing under the dashboard and the fact that it is not OEM, after 3 months I can say that I am very satisfied with the product. I have spent 6 X the cost of this product in engine modifications and I would say that both have improved my driving experience the same amount. I do have a little bit of experience installing the odd sound system in a couple of my old Japanese cars but definitely no experience with this specific installation and I managed to follow along with the video, completing the installation in about 2 hours ( of work time, I did this over 2 days), including having to take it out after the first attempt and reinstall it behind my glove box (the video does wait until the end to tell you that you may have to do this). I had a few questions along the way, as I was unsure about a few things and the Bimmertech Chat support, responded to me, as promptly as is possible on a weekend.

Although I could name a few areas to improve, I would still say this product is a 09/10.

Quality of materials.
Shipping.
Support. Other than the product, this is what I hoped I was paying for and Bimmertech delivered.
Functionality. I was blown away by the fact the Waze will run constantly, whether you map it' or not. This is great for speed cameras.
OEM system integration.

These mostly relate to things that I had to discuss with Bimmertech during installation, that could have been included as instructions.
There were excess video RCA cables, coming from the MMi harness. I spent a great deal of time, attempting to find a way to integrate these into existing reverse camera system. When Bimmertech responded to me the next morning, I found-out that these were not necessary and I was to ignore them. Considering that I have noted that I have an existing camera, when making the purchase, it would be better to include this information in the box or video, to avoid me having to wait for a response from Bimmertech.
Adjustments need to be made in the MMi prime settings to allow you to use your existing camera. This another question that I had to wait for Bimmertech answer. Until I had this answer, I believed that there was an issue with the product.
Swapping between the OEM system and MMi is also something that I had to figure out, as this was not clear. The video provided, showed a switch that my MMi did not come with. Instead, I just use the OEM Menu button.
These are minor bugs and I honestly expected there to be many more issues than this, based on what the MMi is doing.
After auto switching to the OEM system when reversing, the MMi takes 10 to 15 seconds to return to the screen. At this time, the screen is blank. This is annoying when you are following a map.
I use the MMi every day and about once a month, the MMi screen loads in a squashed format. This is fixed by unplugging the phone and plugging it back in. I am fine with it, but it is important to note.
After installing this unit, I assisted a friend with their's. They had bought a cheaper version (half the price) from one of your competitors. They had no instructions. The build quality was poor. They have to run a usb cable form their glove box to the unit and there was no customer support at all. If i had not been there to assist, with the knowledge i had gained from my Bimmertech installation, this person would have had to spend another $300 - $500 dollars for a professional to assist them. After that experience, I am even more satisfied with the Bimmertech product.

This system is an integral part of my driving experience and I am happy that I paid a premium for what is a premium product.

BimmerTech went above and beyond to make me feel like a valued customer, not just another number. I’m new to all of this and I had to call BimmerTech and ask some questions, and the representative that I spoke with was super helpful. I also received some email support that was not only prompt, but addressed all of my questions and they really wanted to make sure I had clear answers and direction. I ended up ordering a map update and it arrived much faster than expected, and it was very easy to install. The directions were clear, concise and couldn’t be any better. I’m very pleased with my experience and I would definitely recommend BimmerTech to any BMW owner looking to upgrade their vehicle.

I bought a wireless charger from them at a price of 300$ way more than others in the market... the charger is overheating and stops working.. I got a replacement which does the same after few weeks which shows that the quality of their products is not good and does not meet the price range at all...

I recently purchased a 2017 BMW i3, which had the original Navigation system software installed. Instead of visiting my local (1-hour away) BMW dealer and paying $$$, I purchased the navi update from BimmerTech. I was very impressed with their website, delivery time, instruction, and support. The update procedure went smoothly and now my navigation system is current and working fabulously!

I got the video motion unlocked from bimmer tech website , it was very easy and smooth process and only toke couple of minutes!

The techs were very professional and answered all my questions and they walk me through the process.

Now i can drive and my wife can enjoy watching videos while we out of the city.

I ordered a replacement key fob from BimmerTech because I lost 1 of mine. Ordering was simple and straight forward. I just had to upload a picture of my registration and driver's license to prove ownership. I received my new fob within a week. All I had to do was hold the fob up to my steering column to sync it with my car and viola, it worked! Much cheaper than the dealership and most importantly, without the hassle of having to go there. Highly recommend if you need a replacement key fob.

I bought a used BMW 5-series that only came with one key. The process of getting a new, second key from Bimmertech in case we ever need it was very easy and handled quickly. Customer support was great to work with!

Bimmer-tech = professionals. Have your Vin ready and they know EXACTLY what you need. There techs are timely and on point. So, I Purchased MMI Prime, rear camera, Bluetooth module, Alpha one AMP. My Blue toothless 2020 335D was a new case for them. But their techs and coders got everything talking to each other like it was factory installed. As a software engineer for many years myself, I really appreciated their efforts.

I visited the web page, watch a number of YouTube videos and chose to purchase the Android Auto MMI Prime Retrofit for my 5 series touring BMW. I had some reservations about my ability to self-install, however the instructions were so clear I was able to complete the install in just under two hours. The MMI Prime has complete changed and improved my in-car entertainment experience. I can honestly say, from the first enquiry to receiving the goods was a simple and easy process and all at a fair price.

Perfect product and will definitely be purchasing more the bimmerTech in the near future
